Went to a Journey concert in the early 80's in Detroit... opening act was some kid I never heard of... Bryan Adams. As an opening act... the crowd didn't seem to be ready to give him the benefit of the doubt... he'd have to prove himself worthy. He and his band proceeded to blow the Detroit audience's mind. He was charming, playful, the band was tight and talented. The songs were good and his live voice (as I would later to learn) was just as good... if not better than on his recordings. To be honest we all walked away talking about him... even though Journey and Steve Perry were great... this new guy just blew them out of the water!

I was the opposite lol, my friends and I went to see Journey just to see Bryan Adams opening up because of this song. We also did the same thing at another Journey show when Loverboy opened up.
That was a great tour. We knew who BA was from MTV. We got backstage( those Groupie Girls I drove to the concert) BA was very gracious. He autographed my bank checks. We share the same name. Afterall. I still have them, somewhere. From that other Bryan NotTheRockStar Adams
Saw him too in May of 1983 opening for Journey in East Rutherford New Jersey.
Same thing that happened in SA Tx. He pump up the audience to engage and with each song got the crowd going. By then Brian Adam was well known do to this song to myself and others , but what a true talent in music.
Bryan Adams has a gigantic list of hits. You could spend a few weeks doing everything that was a hit.
My best Bryan Adams story is that he wanted to call his second album "Bryan Adams Hasn't Heard of You Either". It ended up being called "You Want It, You Got It", which is a banger of a title track.

Love Bryan Adams. When I was in highschool. I missed his concert because I had to have surgery. While in recovery, my dad went and stood in line for 2 hours just to be able to get in a get me a concert T shirt! I woke up with a Bryan Adams Tshirt on over my hospital gown! What a Blessed memory is my dad!

( Before I checked, I thought it probably charted higher because it seems like such a definitive record for him -- but the stats don't lie). Over his career, Adams charted 27 singles on the Hot 100, 11 hit the Top 10 including 4 #1s.

Bryan is another Canadian legend. Sooo many great songs that you haven't even scraped yet. But also...he wrote (with David Foster) the Canadian famine relief song (a la Do They Know it's Christmas and We Own the World)...it's called Tears Are Not Enough. Many Canadian artists you have already covered are on that.

It's the best of them. You could sing it for any disaster at any time and it still applies. Imo it's got a better melody that doesn't get tiresome like the other two.

Fun Fact - Bryan Adams opened up for Journey back in 1983!! That's the first time I ever saw him. He put on a great show, totally got us pumped up for Journey!!!
Bryan Adams had so many hits in the 80s way underrated for the era. He was awesome. And his music matured every album. This was from his first big album in the states.
I remember him as one of the arena-filling, chart-plastering, powerhouse megastars in the 80’s. It’s fun to see new generations discover these great artists.
Fun story: This was the first music video that I ever saw on MTV when my family got cable for the first time in 1983! It was being installed while I was at work; and I remember literally racing home after work; and this was the video that was starting to play when I came into my bedroom where my brothers were! The start of so many great music memories from the 1980s! Bryan Adams is also officially the first rock artist that I ever saw live in concert (he opened for Forieigner the year before this when no one knew who he was outside of Canada)!

Bryan Adams is my favorite artist; I would pay to listen to him sing the ingredients on a Pringle's can!
Bryan Adams is one of my all-time FAVOURITE fellow Canadians. One of his most impactful songs, though, was for the Canadian equivalent of USA For Africa, which was called Northern Lights. Canadian musicians from all over, including French singers, sang the song “Tears Are Not Enough”, which Bryan himself wrote with his long-time collaborator, Jim Vallance as well as Rachel Paiement (she did the French portions). Y’all should react to that song, and you will be surprised in the musicians you see in that song!
Nothing was under-rated about Brian Adams, he was huge from 83-91ish in the U.S. He had at least 10 to 12 Top 40 hits. He had a HUGE hit with the theme song of Robin Hood with Kevin Costner (Everything I Do, I Do It For You). If you really want to dial in his earler music that was not orchestrated for the MTV auduence, check out "One Night Love Affair"...

Brian had some movie soundtracks as well and some of his greatest hits like “Have you ever really loved a woman” were ballads. His high register often leaves the grittiness behind and can sound very soothing and ethereal.

I saw him in concert a few years ago in Toronto. 2 1/2 hours of music and none of it was filler. Every song was a familiar hit and he even missed a couple.

I saw him in concert in Hampton VA many years ago. One of the best concerts I have ever attended! We were his last stop on a long tour but he still played back to back songs for a good 3 hours. After 2 encores, and crowd still going wild, he comes out, sits at the edge of the edge, and takes questions for another hour. What a class act!

I love this. Back in 78/79 we would hang out in friends basements., just like in "That 70's Show". Quite often it would end up in a jam session, and Bryan Adams would be the lead. What great memories. My friend Carl always said, "He's going to be famous one day". A few years later Cuts Like A Knife came out. I was a fan when we would hang out in the basement, and a bigger fan today. A true Canadian Legend and fellow Vancouverite.
Last time I looked it up Bryan had 51 songs he wrote for other artists. KISS was on the list!
