Please start letting host say a final words when they choose to move on. Nothing last forever but we I grew up watching Mike, Eean, Joe. Just to name a few. Please give them at least 1 minute to say goodbyes.

Always true to the nature of these shows. “Aerosol” then replaces 95% of the engine with summit racing parts. That’s what you tell your wife “I’m just gunna clean it up... and dump $3k into it....”😂

I honestly was hoping to see a standard budget rebuild that we can all do at home. They needed to refresh the engine....so naturally they dumped about $5,000 worth of parts and machining into it to appease their sponsor instead of giving what the title claims.
Where's Mike Galley????
I'm truly enjoying the inline six builds your team has hosted lately. Well done going down the path less traveled.
Really nice seeing you work on Straight 6 engines...
Wish cars these days had an inline 6
A little secret AMC I-6 have a second harmonic zone beyond the Red-line. If you can spin it past the breaking point fast enough you get into another level of stable harmonics that give you double the RPM peak. AMC experimented with that back in the 60s and 70s for racing. F class racing. The sound of an I-6 spinning at 9K RPM is something else...
Damn fo real??
@@maxjordan2625 yes. It was done, apparently more times than even I knew for things like Indy car motors and also in South America for one of their racing circuits. It's actually true of any reciprocating assembly or reciprocating ICE. But there really isn't a point to it unless you really need to and it's expensive and fragile. Lots to go wrong. Lots to stabilize.
I love these six cylinder episodes. Please keep them coming.
Pat is all about the engine and the power it can make! Love it!
The adult version of Sunday morning cartoons! Dig the unique love on the engine choice!
Awesome,I love to see the old engine overhauls and the improvement and performance of them, great job done guys
The AMC 258 was the most powerful engine in the Pacer up until 1978 when AMC put a 304, it was the one of the last AMC engines still in production when Chrysler bought it in 1990
Please do more AMC!
NO! Every time some does an AMC on these shows prices go up.
Definitely AMC was the Favorite Car Brand of my Late Father and Mine too

So many different host's n combinations throughout the years....I would love too see a reunion show someday.
Thanks for your great work with the Inline 6 engines. I am eager to view additional episodes concerning the Ford 300cid engines. I have a 1990 Ford F-150 with one of these awesome engines that never ceases to amaze me.
Thanks for the super-imposed "before and after" graph. Profoundly informative.
Pat and company, made the humble 6 have great performance increases, the simpler 6 will be plenty great in the old mail truck. Great show love the old six.
This was fantastic, I really enjoyed watching this upgrade and your expert DINO. Thank You
Pat is the true professional!
It amazing how he can get so excited still about any type of engine he works on! He is definitely in the right profession. I wish I could love what I do like him..
Happy new year,Top-O! Good to see you again 👍
I like that young man. He reminds me of, well me.. Great video guys Pat, everybody that puts this in motion thank you. Me and my kids enjoy it thoroughly
Love the build! Have always liked the straight six motors
I have exact same engine on my 77 cj7. Still runs and was never rebuilt. Planning some rebuilding soon glad I found this video.
I'm a sub, learned a lot from all the info not available in the home garage. Great to see the diverse approach in building these stock engines.
These straight six builds are on point
One of the best engines ever produced .
No idea why I care about an old inline Jeep engine, but I do- enjoyed this very much
Old AMCs are awesome. Ive had 2.....a 74 Javelin/AMX with a 360 and a Rambler 220 American with a 199ci straight 6. People sleep on them all the time, until they get smoked by one.
I happen to have 2 old Jeeps in my desert garage. They have never seen snow or salt, just dry sandy desert trails. There's a lot of these engines hidden away out here. I can't take these Jeeps with me so someday they will be sold. Watch Craigslist!
Had a 68 Rambler American w/straight 6. Once I replaced the bad ujoints, engine was as smooth as I've ever owned. Solid engine as most straight 6's are.
*Great show, fellas. Love the music.*
This was another fun video.. I really do enjoy seeing the odd or strange power plants gettin some love...
Loved the video that engine would look great in my 90 YJ Jeep Wrangler
👍🏼 Thanks for the AMC inline 6 content. I have a project Rambler Classic Convertible with the 232 2-V carb. OEM service manual says it’s rated at 155HP. However, you show me most likely to expect. I am very glad to see you can do an easy refresh on these engines and boost up the torque and HP. I also chose the upgraded 4-V, dual plane intake with small edlebrock. Exhaust manifold is not easy upgrade as on AMC cars the starter motor is on the left hand side, not right like Jeep. I am thinking about trying a 80s AMC Eagle exhaust manifold.
Even though you did go upper shelf with the Offy intake & sweet carb, it is nice to see the possibilities without replacement pistons and a reworked head/valves. Mostly something a shade tree guy could do to up a mid 70s CJ. Thanks.
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls God Bless Ya 🙏
More like this please. A couple weeks ago this channel made me regret scrapping a ford 300 some years ago. Maybe mess with a 4 banger in the future.
This brings back memories of my 1976 CJ7 with the 258ci 6 cylinder. I had the head milled 60 thousands and added headers. All this while I was in the Navy stationed in Greece. In 1976 I picked up my new Jeep in Germany and drove it back to Greece. I miss my Jeep.
I love it! I have a 77 CJ7 with the 258. Now I have a build to go off of.
This was a cool build. Thanks for the content
I thought so too
@@strictlybusiness1598 for sure

What channel is Mike on I’ll go there
if you find him post it. ive watched him build stuff since high school.
Same
He was just a young punk kid in the beginning, give the new kid a chance
A few years back I had a '91 Wrangler 4.0 HO. I did a lot of the same upgrades that you did to this engine. I went a few steps farther and polished the intake/exhaust ports on the head/intake/header, roller rockers and lifters and like you, upped the camshaft a little. I also added a larger diameter throttle body and a few other goodies from Summit, 4WD Off Road etc. like a nice electric cooling fan and distributor etc. Nothing too extreme. Unfortunately I did not have a before/after dyno to see the actual results. But I can tell you that the good ole' seat dyno and even the MPG were a lot better than before. Too bad I sold it.
You're the man Pat!
Great job gentlemen
My dad done these in the 70s I love your video
I love seeing these old workhorse motors get some love. They are like a washing machine or refrigerator, nobody pays attention to them until they need work.
100% gain knowledge another video please - Philippines Powernation family
Sad about Mike Galley. It's a crying shame that when a host of 16 years moves on, they don't even get as much as a mention... just a new guy shows up all the sudden. Shame on PowerNation
Ill be sure to go watch old episodes with Mike because this sucks
Just what happened to him?

Agreed. Fairly disrespectful. "Here's a new guy!!! Mike? Mike who?" But then again maybe it helps them avoid liabilities, etc. in this modern age.
I had the same engine in my 71 Hornet. 232 straight 6 with a three on the tree. That was a fun car.
Cheers from Kentucky.
Mine was a 66 Rambler American convertible , had alot of fun with that car at sixteen.
awesome!!! 6 in a row makes them go!!
Frankie seems like a bright young man, with a bright future!! Especially with a mentor like Pat!!
He's proof that UNOH is the best in the country. I had High Performance Steering and Suspension with the guy, really cool dude
Great build! 👍
Years ago in a car magazine they were looking for the most cost effective horsepower mod. It was removing the solid mount rad ran and replacing it with a hydraulic fan from a later model car. Cost about ten dollars and added around ten horsepower.
Great results👍🏼
I bet that jeep is a mail hauler now!🤗
Love these
Welcome to the crew, buddy! When Mike Galley first showed up, I was just a kid watching him on the new TNN. It's cool to see how far he's come over the years.
Pat is the man, too. I share his curiosity in these oddball engines lol. Could you perhaps build a true oddball, though? The 80's Chrysler 2.2L Turbo 4 banger would be fun to see fully built(89+ common block is stronger). 2 cents from a long time fan.
Much love from Canada

@@kerongranger2229 maybe on break? I don't know
That was enjoyable. Since you might further upgrade please consider porting the head and upping the compression.

Personal these kinds of videos are more interesting then other videos
I hate how this production company doesn't have a policy of explaining why a host isn't there. Mike Galley's absence should be explained to fans.
Old hosts are like Chuck Cunningham from happy days. One episode he is there and the next episode you never hear about him again.
I like mike and this guy together too. I like his enthusiasm
@@jameshall4385 Chuck’s son had died in an racing accident. He had made an announcement that he needed to reconsider his priorities post that.
the hosts dont always leave on the best of terms with the production company. Stacy David is good example. the production company's version of why and the hosts version arent gunna line up. so the hosts just vanish into thin air no explantion nada
You can look it up
Very interested to see how the new guy works out. My initial impression is that there’s great talent, and likability, about him that will show over the coming episodes. Sorry to see Mike Galley off, but he’s got a great foundation for the next chapter of his career.

love, Love, LOVE straight six motors!
#1 the Ford 300/240
#2 the AMC 232/258
the rule of the day is always be smooth, and always have the torque you need to get moving
The 232 is the 4 cylinder 2.5L , Pat mis-spoke in the beginning of the episode. The 242 is the 4.0L and what we're watching here is the 258, 4.2L ... I'd like to see them do the 4.0 Edelbrock head on the 4.2L (258) with other power ladders like camshaft, EFI, Banks header is a no brainers, roller rockers, ect, ect

Hello chào bạn chúc sức khỏe nhé bộ máy khủng thật!
would love to see some episodes involving the older carburetor 4 cylinder engines
I enjoy you guys building and dynoing non-conventional High performance engines
Back in 1975 I owned a 1966 Rambler American Rogue with the 232 six and automatic. I replaced the automatic with a Gremlin full syncro 3 speed. the guy at the all AMC yard in Long Beach CA said a 4 speed would not bolt up. Also went with a Clifford intake and 465 Holly 4 barrel and 3 into 1 Viper Headers, also from Clifford and dual exhaust and glass pack mufflers. Even with just over 100,000 miles, it ran great. Put a Sun Super Tach on it so I would not rev beyond 5,000 RPM.
Did you ever hear of Barney Navarro? he built a 199 Rambler 6 for Indy. Turbocharged and on alcohol, he got 650 HP!
you could have cut some heads off some long bolts to align the head gasket when you were dropping the head on.. that was a bit sketchy
Love the title: Aerosol Overhaul, lol, nice!
Man that was cool. (The way those headers looked crap in an hour was pretty disturbing though) Very neat project. Thanks, guys.
Very cool!
I know little about cars but I knew enough when I was 18 in 1988 to look for an AMC with this engine. I myself learned to replace a lot of parts on this engine with the car books available from the library (no UA-cam back then).
It was a great choice...back around 1990, you could buy an old AMC car for $50, then harvest the engine and trans...I had a collection of a dozen AMC'S, including a postal jeep, they were all interchangeable
I enjoyed that 258....tough and hard to kill
Don't know if they're still around but I rebuilt my '81 CJ-5 258 using a cam, intake and exhaust from a company named Clifford Research. They're logo was 6=8. They specialized in inline engines. Huge difference. Ran better than stock V8s. Topped it off with a Holly 390 4 barrel. Exhaust was a 6 into 3 into 2 duel pipes. Never seen that kind of low end torque. It would idle up a cliff. The 232/258 was originally designed by Rambler.
Rambler was a model of Nash, then a model of AMC. AMC designed the ohv 6
Love the new guy! Excited to see his contribution to this show! Everyone give him a break!
Finally, someone said it. Everyone is going to miss Mike but to completely dismiss Frankie simply because he isn't Mike is really ignorant. I think the reason everyone is angry is because Mike never got a final farewell and Frankie never got a real introduction, really unprofessional on Powernations part and is probably the reason some don't like him, but I think as time goes on people will get to like him though
AMC 6! We did the same mods on my cousin's 72 Javelin back in the day. Great HP improvements, however still on the low side compared to today's engines.
Do you have link for rocker arms ? Summit racing link is not finding anything but Chevy parts
@@javierbilly3238 The mods consisted of an Clifford (or offy?) intake, 390cfm carb, headers and tuning. Big improvement over stock, however nowhere near even a stock V8 at the time.
I had the 4.2 in my 88 Wrangler and it was higher compression that 9.2 to 1 I had to run 93 to get it running right especially after I put a bigger Motorcraft carb and stripped the emissions. Stripping the emissions and putting that carb on really opened it up though I could spin my 35 inch tires with stock 307 gears and bark them all the way to 4th
My 81 CJ 7 258 rebuild : 9:1 Pistons, .060 mill on head, crane cam, Offy intake, Clifford header 3 into 2, Holley 390.
My one and only build back in the 80's was a 258... 60 over flat tops, schneider cam, clifford intake, holley, split headers. Sounded like crap with duals but great 2>1. Made a good low RPM torque motor for my CJ5.
On the cylinder head and gasket use a couple of lengths of all thread, place the gasket and head(or what ever you are trying to mount) put in some bolts and everythings lined up ready to go.
I agree with a lot of the other comments I wish there was at least a goodbye when a host moves on but I also understand that this is still just a job for them albeit a pretty cool one. I'm sure with time the new guy will get more comfortable and the show will continue to be great.
it would be so cool if you would show what can be done with the TBI 2.5 L amc engine out of the 87-91 jeep yj. It get's no love and I have always wondered what can and can't be done with that motor, especially if renix system is bypassed
I like the combo of the gold block and the Detroit Diesel green valve cover
No disrespect to the new guy, but Mike has been around a very long time and I feel like they should have said something about replacing/ him leaving. He has a lot of fans that saw his start on this show and are going to all wonder what happened. He was always my favorite host because he was a young guy and more relatable. In any case, I hope he is doing ok and I wish him and the new guy the best of luck.
Awesome! I love the odd ball stuff. You should hot rod a Suzuki samurai engine!
Have you guys thought about other odd engines like the gmc 5 liter v6
powerglide? What ignition- ford works good studs on the cap 205 duration if you do not have 300 pls lobe lift you got took what head what year dual port old school how was the oil pump? use a 998 trans with the double wrap band, even lock up
I have the same motor in my 72 jeep commando. I saw the intake manifold could you send the exhaust manifold and carburetor you put on? Thanks
Love the sound of a nasty sick cylinder under power.
All your old need jeep needed is a slightly hotter cam and bearings, rod and main bearings and a timing chain replacement. Valve train clean up...make sure oil can flow good shed probably be fine forever
Would love to see this in a Gremlin. I've always wanted to see a stock sleeper Gremlin.
With some head work and more compression 200hp is feasible. With rods and pistons and lightened flywheel they love to rev too. Together with the Ford 250 and the Chevy straight six, they are used in Argentina in a racing series. They are around 275hp at 7500rpm. They sound wicked too. Look up Turismo Carretera for videos
