I love listening to you speak Jay! I can relate to you and the subjects you speak of are things that us "normal" people think about. I'm a 41 year old female and my 23 year old son has followed in my fitness footsteps. When he first started working out when he was 18 he asked me once who you were and why I liked watching you and following you?!?! I told him I love your endearing personality I get drawn in when you speak you're a very smart man. Have a great weekend.
What a strangely relatable scenario - My mom is in her upper 40s and I'm in my early 20s, and she used to be into BB (which I'm now getting into sort of), and we sometimes talk about workout stuff, form, exercises etc, but I nearly caused a household divide the other day when I said I think Jay is/was superior to Ronnie, whom I've heard her speak of multiple times while I was growing up.
Loving these JAYWALKING segments, it's cool to hear about Jay's past and who he was on the "come up" with in his earlier years of bodybuilding. I always look forward to new JAYWALKING episodes!!
I am almost 70 years young. I pushed my first weights when I was 15 yrs old and was hooked. I have joined what was called "Health Spa's" in the day, but now live in a very rural area and there are no gyms within a two hour drive. For years I have had my own equipment or made my own. You could not believe some of the places I have worked out in. Outside with just a roof over my head at night in the winter with snow on the ground temps well below freezing to building I have made and stocked with homemade equipment, I even had pieces of equipment made from lumber from designs from "Mother Earth News"I could go on for several paragraph's but I will not. I have machines now that I got from gyms that went belly up, nothing fancy but good stuff, set up in a section of my shop, rubber mats and all. I have always stayed true to body building. Even worked out at work,thirty-six years as a fireman. I bought weight training equipment for the stations and got a lot of fire fighters started. I got to meet Bill Pearl, who I might add is still living at the age of 90. Any way Jay, I want to thank you for your show and tips. Your never to old to learn.
I sent this message last week.... Jay & Dave, you need to watch “MJ Last Dance” & do the bodybuilding version for Mr. Olympia 2009 “Last Pose” then sell that to Netflix. I would love to see all the separate interviews with the video editing.
I grew in Michigan and of course I was a Detroit Piston fan and I remember the battle between the Pistons & the Bulls and they hated us and we didn't like them, but you had to respect Jordan because he built that team, once he the talent out his teammates and realized that he couldn't do it by himself although they couldn't be stopped, pretty much like the Lakers with Shaq & Kobe.
Jay not sure if you ve realized this but you have a big following here in India as well... Every video u drop a few pearls of wisdom ... Work hard, stay focused ,think money and family
TOC 1995 was a fantastic show! Huge heavyweight line up! I was in the USMC at the time and I actually did my first show the NPC Huntington Beach the weekend prior! I took 2 weeks leave for prep so I was able to see Jay that weekend after! He blew everyone off the stage. We knew the guy who got second to him from Northern Cal but I can’t remember his name. Another good guy won the light heavies Marvin Montoya! Such great times!!
Hey Dave what's up buddy? Love how Jay nonchalantly mentioning probably the best side tricep shot in the history of bb right up there with the quad stomp that shook the world
Every 5-10 years there should be a new era of champ. That means the younger guys are learning from the older guys and do things better, smarter, etc especially in bodybuilding.
AWESOME... love listening to old time stories. I remember seeing you Jay waaaaay back in your yute at the famous "Barrys nightclub " in Warwick, RI . I hope to have the honor to meet you some day in Boston. GREATSTUFF - TY
Love the jay walking. Make me feel like I’m there walking with jay shooting the shit ! From last dance to 95 lol. Still remember seeing jay in magazine at 22. Same age as me n I’m like wtf. And from Massachusetts!! Great stuff thanks guys. Brian from Boston 👍🙏💪
I'm very fortunate to grow up and watched great athletes like Tiger Woods, the first time I had seen him play, I told my cousin this guy is going to do great things on the course and boy he didn't didn't disappoint! Just like the first time I had seen Jay & Ronnie compete I told a friend of mine if anyone is going to beat Coleman, it's going to be Jay Cutler. And we know Jay should have had 5.
Early 90s was all about the Jordans and Reebok Pumps. I still remember the Reebok comercial that was banned, dude had pumps on and bungee jumped off a bridge 😆
I had a pair of Air Jordans when they first came out, we even "coincidentally" had a fire drill at school the first day I wore them to school... straight fire lol.
I seen jay multiple times here at the gyms Vegas. Great guy to say the least. Definitely a fan of his just off of that alone. Sidenote: those house are nice as hell lmao
There is a stardom vacuum in bodybuilding today. There is a void on the Olympia stage. Put Phil Heath, Jay Cutler and Kai Greene in stadiums as guest posers today and sell it out! People need this. There is a demand and decent money can be made. 💰💰💰
Dude, this is creepy. I remember being in high school and my buddy asking me if I had heard of Jay. He said he is the next champ. Might be youngest O winner ever. He wasnt, but he still became a legend. I remember looking at his photos and being mesmerized.
For me, the stars went away when I realized how PED’s were everywhere. Of course bodybuilders use them, but I’m talking every other sport. Now you can’t even compete without them. Goodbye stars,....my opinion anyway.
Great topic. I grew up with Lebron going to 8 straight finals, the rise of Conor McGregor, baseball and hockey went on strike so I lost interest in that but guys like Rodger Federer or Rafael Nadal are beasts. Bodybuilding has a lot of cool personalities right now with everyone putting out content but there isn’t a beacon of a person yet someone who translates outside of bodybuilding. The guy named ‘The Blessing’ has a big following outside of bodybuilding
Jay’s absolutely right about where are the stars today? Dexter Jackson is the last of the great BB star of the past! Once he leaves after this year, who do we have to look up to in the sport? There’s a huge void in the sport and it may effect the overall attraction to the sport!
i have a very clear vison on what I want to do and how. and this sport does need a star a guy to bring back the words being wow that's a beautiful body not wow that's a big body.
I think your right about the stuff you folks were mulling over about the 90,s to now and life. Yes things are not the same without Joe. About bodybuilding though. Arnold has done a lot but you could never expect the commitment that Joe gave from him to bodybuilding or you. I think it took a turn after you left and then Kai quitting on the Olympia title. Could type all day about that bodybuilding mulling over. Your event is brill but you need a good groups of champions at the top and the guidance commitment and management and passion Joe gave like you do but with more control. Joe he guided the students in the best way possible but he also kinda created how things would probably work out at the top to some degree I think maybe.
The Stars are all gone because there are few to no new frontiers. Most everything is played out. Michael Jordan was the best because he was original....everyone after is in his shadow. Eddie Van Halen was the best because he was 1st, original....but time allows people to copy greatness but they didn't invent it. Greatness has to be original.
Hey Jay! You have achieved outstanding success in sports. I'm worried that your end will be like Ronnie's. it's time to protect your health. You can start this by leaving the protein powders you use, then you can reduce the weights you lift, you will decrease the development of your muscles so that you do not have to put excessive pressure on your bones. Lol💪🇹🇷
Hay just seed me a autograph hat because I’m your biggest fan on the east coast I’m 60 just got to shake your hand as you where leaving camp Lejeune a honor if I say so myself
I love listening to you speak Jay!

Your absolutely right about all that. If he took an interest in Jay he probably grew up all the better for it I know I did with 24yrs of influence 👍
Discipline is not there anymore in the competitive stage. On Point Jay! Respect!
Well said

Every 5-10 years there should be a new era of champ. That means the younger guys are learning from the older guys and do things better, smarter, etc especially in bodybuilding.

Love your intros!
Completely agree Jay, we need a new Star in the sport of bodybuilding, a young Superstar to lead the way!
AWESOME... love listening to old time stories. I remember seeing you Jay waaaaay back in your yute at the famous "Barrys nightclub " in Warwick, RI . I hope to have the honor to meet you some day in Boston. GREATSTUFF - TY

I like watching Steve Kuclo, I thing he was overlooked last year at the “O”

I knew Jay was going to be a super star , I think he’s was a great MR. O
This Jay Cutler guy seems to have some wise words on bodybuilding he must be a champ or somethin'.
Couldn't do "Jay Walking" on my street, because of to many cars parked against the curb.
2003 Ironman was at El Camino college in torrance

Also Michael Phelps changed my life I joined the swim team in high school for four years after Beijing

BB is truly dying. Jay was the last star.
Is that Dave’s car outside your house Jay, the one that needs a good wash 🧽 😂😂😂
Sou seu fã Jay Cutler que Deus te abençoe.
i have a very clear vison on what I want to do and how. and this sport does need a star a guy to bring back the words being wow that's a beautiful body not wow that's a big body.

Don't sell yourself short Champ. You still placed top 6 in the world in your come back in 2013.
👏👏👏🐶🐶
What is a good web site in the us to order gear ?
Sneaker per year? Pretty good deal
Is this guy walking sideways to film him haha
I do same thing to my dogs hahahaha
I was the 3rd most remembered guy from the 95 toc...by default

Attack of the killer leaf blower part 10. lol
How many dollars do you probably need to prepare for one of the houses we see in the background?
Generally, homes are $500k plus in this area. I used to live close by now I moved to LA.
The average price of the homes in that neighborhood is about 1.2 million.
I like u Jay cuz ur articulate. What's her name ? The lady in the intro...
Mrs. Jay
Angie
Okay, I use to hear u call her aloud but I don't get the pronunciation correctly...
How is jays relationship with Phil Heath?
the late pd devers was 2nd to jay in that show
WHEN BROTHERS ARE BROTHERS
WERE ALL NORMAL
