Hi Floyd, im interesting in muting single track on qy70/100 using a midi controller. Do you have any tips about? I cant find any informations on midi chart.
I don't think you can do this with just a MIDI controller. You could assign volume changes to toggle buttons, but then you'd face problems with channels that have an individual volume. It seems there is no sysex message for channel mute in the QY100/70, too. So all you can do is: a) assign volume sliders and use them as a "mixer" b) use a raspberry pi/arduino to read the current volume of a channel, set it to zero and remove all volume changes from your midi data "on the fly". (that's really complicated)
Hi, thanks for watching! This is a General MIDI device, so the list of General MIDI CC assignments is what you're looking for: anotherproducer.com/online-tools-for-musicians/midi-cc-list/ The sixties, particularly. ;-)
I’m eight months late, but I came looking for the same answer. I’ve seen this question elsewhere and apparently there isn’t a simple Midi CC for the decay. Only NRPN or sysex.
Wish there were an equally straightforward way to do this for the individual drum sounds! Especially with the QY70, since they blocked editing of some of the drums directly on-device, only accessible via MIDI. Afaik, there isn't a modern midi controller that can be configured to use a variable NRPN parameter, based on the last note played.. Probably wouldn't be the hardest thing to do w/ an Arduino 🤔.
Note: The other video I mentioned will be online tomorrow. Sorry about that.

hey man would it be possible to sequence all 8 tracks with digitakts 8 midi tracks ?
@@enso3460 Hi, you can do that. The QY has 16 tracks though :) And its own sequencer is quite capable.
Thanks! - and i also have the Divoom... ;D - Levi
Congrats! You are now officially a synth tuber. :)
which channel is the kontrol set to ?
It's on channel 1.
So all you can do is:
a) assign volume sliders and use them as a "mixer"
b) use a raspberry pi/arduino to read the current volume of a channel, set it to zero and remove all volume changes from your midi data "on the fly". (that's really complicated)
What kind of usb midi hub is that?
It's by Hobbytronics, UK. And it's sold out frequently. I made a video on this ua-cam.com/video/iV4OSRG6Kio/v-deo.html
Any idea what cc# for decay is ?
Hi, thanks for watching! This is a General MIDI device, so the list of General MIDI CC assignments is what you're looking for:
anotherproducer.com/online-tools-for-musicians/midi-cc-list/
The sixties, particularly. ;-)
I’m eight months late, but I came looking for the same answer. I’ve seen this question elsewhere and apparently there isn’t a simple Midi CC for the decay. Only NRPN or sysex.
you just convinced me to not sell my nanokontrol
Thanks for watching! The Nanokontrol is a nice tool to have.
Ok, so I made a great preset ('voice'). How do I save it, so I can use it in another pattern/song? ps thanks for the video!
I think the only way to save that is within a song or sequence. There are no slots for user sounds on this box.
@@mr_floydst Wow, I've been rtfming (and googling) and I think you're correct, though it does seems like a strange omission. Thanks for the response!
what software did you use?
Korg's Nanokontrol editor. But depending on the controller you use, you'll need the whatever editor your vendor provides.
@@mr_floydst Ah thanks, Just got the NK2, and I wasn't aware of this.
What is that USB Midi HUB?
Thanks for watching - I made a video to answer that specific question: ua-cam.com/video/iV4OSRG6Kio/v-deo.html
Thanks!@@mr_floydst
oh, midi thru mode must be set to RecMonitor I see
Thanks for watching - seems I don't need to answer the other question? ;-)
Thanks for your feedback! I think there are videos on this on UA-cam already, I'll link them here if I re-find them.
