So many iconic quotes from 12. This one might be my favorite. I think what I liked most about 12 was the very delicate balance between his hatred for his enemies and his love for his friends. Face the Raven upset that balance, and if Hellbent hadn't screwed the story over, he would have gone into the Husbands of Riversong a very dark character, which they should have used Riversong to reset the balance and turn him back into a kind man again. They ruined an emotional and heroic ending for Clara, for more screen time? They really still haven't plugged that plot hole, although they tried in Twice Upon a Time. What happened to Ashildr? Where's the other tardis disguised as a American diner from the 50s-60s? Did they ever actually return to Gallifrey?

Starting at 2:08 is the part in the episodes that always gets me super pumped. You can just //feel// the Doctor's energy and wisdom. The instruments that have a faster tempo during this part illustrate the Doctor's thought process; how quick he is to adapt and think on his feet to adjust to any given situation, while the trumpet parts that overlap emphasize the power behind one mind. Great power comes with great knowledge. I love it. Absolutely love it. It is, in essence, the Doctor. Through and through.

I honestly never said I would say this since I had massive Matt Smith withdrawals after he left but...12 has to be my favourite Doctor of the new era. Only the thought of him eventually leaving the show makes me miss him. I really, really hope Peter decides to stay because he really was at his best in series nine and it would be such a shame if we lost such a brilliant doctor so early.
After watching The Doctor Falls and drinking what's left of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, I still miss my Doctor. He's definitely going to be the best of Doctors in my lifetime because of the one thing that he taught me: Without hope, without witness, without reward. So long as there is mercy. Always mercy.
Personally, I love how gritty and dark the 12th Doctor could be. Even so, you could still feel that he truly is the Doctor. No matter how different he is from the rest of them, he still has that air of hope the Doctor always carried. Edit 11/22/2015: I saw the newest episode of Doctor Who, and too dark. It's too dark now. (I still love the 12th Doctor though.)

I love Capaldi as the Doctor. Matt Smith, David Tennant, and Christopher Eccleston were all stellar in their roles, and I enjoyed them all, but Capaldi blows them out of the water with his performance.
I think its impossible to compare them and yeah, I know that its an unoriginal comment but it's true. All of their doctors are different and therefore will be acted differently.
I just noticed that Twelve's suit with the red lining kinda looks like Pertwee's cape and the way he places his hands on his hips also looks like pertwee!! This can't be a coincidence ;)
Well he did get another cycle of regenerations. Some people think he will reflect back on his older selves because of the new cycle. I do love how he wears things that in a way resemble the classics. It gives it a nice twist for the people who watch classics.
I have this vision in my mind. Murray Gold, A special guest at Comic Con or BBC Proms, And the host sais this "Our next guest, You may have noticed his work before on Doctor Who, he has never been at our panel/prom but he is here today, before we introduce him here is a reminder of his work" and then they show a reel, with all his themes, just like they do with the doctor regeneration reel at proms, and after 12s theme comes to its crescendo "MURRAY GOLD LADIES AND GENTLEMAN" and the man himself walks out to a standing ovation because it is no less then that man deserves. I went to the doctor who symphonic spectacular and got a programme and it had an interview from Murray Gold and he said he tries to take the feeling of the character and put it into music and at the start it looks like he's tried to make us think that the Doctor has a type of feeling toward Clara or Clara is part of the Doctor or something like that.
0304dina Ah! I've got to try to find that interview! Murray Gold is so brilliant! He just captures the essence of each character so well, they literally (well figuratively, but you know what I mean) leap out of the screen towards us. I think I love the twelfth Doctor's theme as much, if not more than the eleventh's. I mean "I am the Doctor" is brilliant, but it's more upbeat and playable, and kind of seems like a pop song next to this one, haha! But I think they fit each version of him so well! The fact that this one is a bit more twisty and complex but still has hints of eleven's theme is so brilliant! I'm so glad he writes for the show, I don't know if it would have been nearly as brilliant without him (even though it's fantastic, haha).
Ahh, I'm so glad that there are people who rave about Murray Gold's masterpieces as much as I do. I find it incredible how he captures the personality of characters in music. The Doctor, who is essentially the same but always different. Heroic, majestic, sad, funny, hurt and tragic and always running... It's in every theme of each Doctor. BUT DIFFERENT! Like the top layer is always altered to the new personality, but the core remains the same. That's so important! Because that's the whole idea behind Doctor Who. A man who always changes, but his main intentions and certain memories do not. And Murray Gold's style is so recognisable. When I watched 'The Musketeers' for the first time, I instantly heard that he wrote the music.

It reminds me of Tennants theme more than Smith/Eccleston, but having that Eccleston vibe and War Doctor vibe, while still being heroic, slightly darker, but still a hero, trying to do the right thing, but not always doing it the way he wanted.
I went from having that 11th Doctor feeling inside of me to having the power and wits of the 12th Doctor when I first heard this theme. And I still do everytime

Moffat's characterization of both his Doctors really is as a superhero. The reputation, the powers. He went from being a traumatized space hobo alien (Davies) to being Superman. People are starting to know of his travels everywhere, his deeds. And they know his name...
The Doctor bouncing back from the Time War and getting back into the spirit of saving the world is arguably the Doctor's biggest journey in the show since his character was reintroduced in 2005, so I like how every theme Murray wrote for the Doctor was more adventurous than the last. Nine's theme ("The Doctor's Theme") was very passionate and somber. Ten's theme ("The Doctor Forever") was still a bit melancholy, but also spirited and jaunty. Eleven's theme ("I Am The Doctor") contained the fire and drive he had when he burst out of the gate in Series 5. By the time you get Twelve's theme ("A Good Man"), it sounds exactly like something you'd hear in an action-adventure movie.

I loved John Pertwee as the Doctor.... Capaldi was like the modern version of him.. Long story short... Capaldi was fucking AMAZING! My favourite Doctor of all time! 3:23 you really get that sense of the might of the Doctor vs. the Cybermen... Giving his all, giving his life to stop them,... So bad-ass...

Personally, I love how gritty and dark the 12th Doctor could be. Even so, you could still feel that he truly is the Doctor. No matter how different he is from the rest of them, he still has that air of hope the Doctor always carried.
Edit 11/22/2015: I saw the newest episode of Doctor Who, and too dark. It's too dark now. (I still love the 12th Doctor though.)

I love Capaldi as the Doctor. Matt Smith, David Tennant, and Christopher Eccleston were all stellar in their roles, and I enjoyed them all, but Capaldi blows them out of the water with his performance.
Capaldi's acting ability is God given. You can't teach that kind of talent...

Well he did get another cycle of regenerations. Some people think he will reflect back on his older selves because of the new cycle. I do love how he wears things that in a way resemble the classics. It gives it a nice twist for the people who watch classics.

I have this vision in my mind. Murray Gold, A special guest at Comic Con or BBC Proms, And the host sais this "Our next guest, You may have noticed his work before on Doctor Who, he has never been at our panel/prom but he is here today, before we introduce him here is a reminder of his work" and then they show a reel, with all his themes, just like they do with the doctor regeneration reel at proms, and after 12s theme comes to its crescendo "MURRAY GOLD LADIES AND GENTLEMAN" and the man himself walks out to a standing ovation because it is no less then that man deserves. LOVE 12s THEME

I went to the doctor who symphonic spectacular and got a programme and it had an interview from Murray Gold and he said he tries to take the feeling of the character and put it into music and at the start it looks like he's tried to make us think that the Doctor has a type of feeling toward Clara or Clara is part of the Doctor or something like that.
0304dina Ah! I've got to try to find that interview! Murray Gold is so brilliant! He just captures the essence of each character so well, they literally (well figuratively, but you know what I mean) leap out of the screen towards us. I think I love the twelfth Doctor's theme as much, if not more than the eleventh's. I mean "I am the Doctor" is brilliant, but it's more upbeat and playable, and kind of seems like a pop song next to this one, haha! But I think they fit each version of him so well! The fact that this one is a bit more twisty and complex but still has hints of eleven's theme is so brilliant! I'm so glad he writes for the show, I don't know if it would have been nearly as brilliant without him (even though it's fantastic, haha).
Ahh, I'm so glad that there are people who rave about Murray Gold's masterpieces as much as I do.
I find it incredible how he captures the personality of characters in music.
The Doctor, who is essentially the same but always different. Heroic, majestic, sad, funny, hurt and tragic and always running... It's in every theme of each Doctor. BUT DIFFERENT!
Like the top layer is always altered to the new personality, but the core remains the same.
That's so important! Because that's the whole idea behind Doctor Who. A man who always changes, but his main intentions and certain memories do not.
And Murray Gold's style is so recognisable.
When I watched 'The Musketeers' for the first time, I instantly heard that he wrote the music.

I really need to check out what else he's written for! But yeah, he is just so skillful, and his brilliance has probably gotten who knows how many people interested in orchestral music, which is so amazing! Doctor Who, educational all round, haha!

It reminds me of Tennants theme more than Smith/Eccleston, but having that Eccleston vibe and War Doctor vibe, while still being heroic, slightly darker, but still a hero, trying to do the right thing, but not always doing it the way he wanted.
I love this theme and am going to miss it. Makes me wonder, what will the 13th doctor's theme be like...

Moffat's characterization of both his Doctors really is as a superhero. The reputation, the powers. He went from being a traumatized space hobo alien (Davies) to being Superman. People are starting to know of his travels everywhere, his deeds. And they know his name...

I loved 10s theme when he was the Doctor. Went on to love the Majestic Tale even more when 11 was. Now I'm really starting to love 12s.
The Doctor bouncing back from the Time War and getting back into the spirit of saving the world is arguably the Doctor's biggest journey in the show since his character was reintroduced in 2005, so I like how every theme Murray wrote for the Doctor was more adventurous than the last.
Nine's theme ("The Doctor's Theme") was very passionate and somber. Ten's theme ("The Doctor Forever") was still a bit melancholy, but also spirited and jaunty. Eleven's theme ("I Am The Doctor") contained the fire and drive he had when he burst out of the gate in Series 5. By the time you get Twelve's theme ("A Good Man"), it sounds exactly like something you'd hear in an action-adventure movie.

I just hear twelve. It's like he's talking but i hear it as a song. It's such a powerful and dark song but you can still here excitement, beauty. It's so beautifully strong, i want to cry.
I loved John Pertwee as the Doctor.... Capaldi was like the modern version of him.. Long story short... Capaldi was fucking AMAZING! My favourite Doctor of all time! 3:23 you really get that sense of the might of the Doctor vs. the Cybermen... Giving his all, giving his life to stop them,... So bad-ass...
