So happy he’s making his return to music. The Papercut Chronicles is one of the most underrated albums ever, and As Cruel As School Children is amazing too but that one seems to be more remembered
I dead ass spent 3 years with a goofy ass monroe piercing just because being a light skinned curly haired puerto rican hardcore kid meant constantly getting told I looked like this dude back then. What a fucking time.
As an outsider (from the Caribbean), I grew up appreciating a lot of different styles of music. I never had the social pressure that American kids have to ONLY listen to particular kinds of music based on your cultural background.. That being said, I was pretty much spoiled rotten by the creativity and intelligence of 90's hip hop. Groups like De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets, The Pharcyde and The Roots (they're many more) really got me accustomed to hearing music that not only sounds great but has a high degree of lyrical depth. It fit right in to my then school life.. And it just worked. I'm not a snob, I'm just saying.. I literally stumbled into Gym Class Heroes (at that time I was really into Linkin Park and a friend recommended that I listen to them when they had just come out) and I was completely blown away. As Cruel As School Children (and later Papercut Chronicles) is the reason why I love and encourage indie groups. It blends musical genres, its super intelligent lyrically and simultaneously its just fun to listen to.. I almost wish that their music came out when I was actually in school because tracks like "Write ON" on that album would have been in retrospect so memorable and meaningful that I probably would have liked them even more than I do now.. I'm glad that bands like this exist.. It doesn't mean that I don't like "Party/Casual" songs, I'm not a purist. But bands like this actively encourage artistic integrity instead of cookie cutter bandwagonist music based on trending alogrithms and popularity..
It's cool to see he's back making music.. felt like every 3 months out of a year I'd do a Google search for new music and interviews. I'm late to the interview and music but at least I found it.
Awesome interview Trav. This documentary you are working will need to be a miniseries because your story can’t be told in 90 minutes. Anyone else wondering why people in Upstate NY like to live in rural areas aka the woods, if you visit you’ll get it. First, NO noise ordinance. You can blast your stereo till it rattles the windows and nobody cares. We spend a LOT of time outside on our properties or at the lakes in summer because winter sucks sooo bad. Privacy. Nobody cares what the neighbors are up to. Commute time....yeah, the mall or work might be a half hour or more from home, but we drive directly there with no traffic. In the city it may take a half hour to drive two miles. I love that Travie always pays respect to Geneva, the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier of NYS. Looking forward to the new album. It has been a very long time coming and I’m confident it will be well worth the wait 🎵⚡️🔥💜

I met this dude randomly at Walmart in Helena ,MT. They were touring to Canada. We took him, his dj, and body guard to the lake and kicked it with them. All of them were some of the most down to earth people you could ever meet.
So glad when Adam hits us with a legend/throwback/gem a lot of us grew up with. Shoutout Travie/Gym Class Heros 🙌
Just found papercut chronicles & as cruel as school children again recently
Both really helped me out as a kid much love to Travie!
I love that he shouted out Milwaukee. I remember when cupids chokehold started playin here. Makes me nostalgic

The goal is to be a better person than u were the previous day, at the very least preventing urself from becoming stagnant or regressing to a lesser step. Live the best life u can. Happiness is key, peace comes with it. Be good n be safe bro

Best interview. He's always been a legend in my eyes bruh

This interview is what’s up. Travis is one of my favs underrated and rly helped my childhood growth
This guy has made some really good music. 🔥
Travie is underrated more then anyone I know! He reaches black kids white kids asian kids Latin kids he hits home for everyone an deserve more respect for sure. Dudes a genius
Adam needs to do a "best interview" award every year and let fans vote. This one would win.
Lol put some respect on your Monroe's name it served it's purpose
YOOOOOOOO!!!! This was needed!! Travie was a B I G influence on mixing genres and being YOU!
The 'White Girl' record with Travi n Lil Wayne is a slept on classic
Facts💯
Dude and his group broke lots of ground
❣️❣️❣️❣️
Adam The Fact That You Managed To Get Travie McCoy On No Jumper You Are A F*cking Legend.
I remember pre ordering their first CD by fueled by ramen at my local HMV cause they didn’t plan on stocking them
Graduated with Trav…solid solid dude!!!
That’s my boy ! PaperCuts heavily influenced my work .💎💎💎
It's cool to see he's back making music.. felt like every 3 months out of a year I'd do a Google search for new music and interviews.
I'm late to the interview and music but at least I found it.
So glad to see Adam bring someone on here who actually comes from the hardcore scene/music/community
Here after today’s new interview of Travie! This was fun and wish him the best. Billionaire on Venice boardwalk 🤟
" I wanna be a billionaire " last time I seen him
He was my celebrity crush growing up ! Been following him ever since
You be having the Legends on here Adam!!!
Growing up on Gym Class Hero’s was a time no one born after will ever understand. Shit was lit
Mid 2000s life was sick
Such a great interview.... Ughhhh nostalgia is STRONG
I was today's year old when I found out they were not cousins.... I've been spreading misinformation for how long?! lmao
Ahh so good to see Travieee again!
I always felt like he’s where Wayne got a lot of his style from
For sure!!!!!
That roadside records joke is FUNNY AF to anyone that got it 🤣😭 he was kinda mumbling thru the explanation but when he was done explaining I was DEAD crying
I laughed when he said "I was a fat kid so i was getting busted on all the time"
bro this guy pathed the way for kids like me. i loved fall out boy and maroon 5 and that shit was just beautiful! im glad i found this podcast i wouldve forgotten all that
Travie and GCH should’ve won a Grammy. They are iconic and beyond talented with top tier creativity.
