    Nina Mui did not only direct this movie, she appeared in it too. She even wrote the script and story for the movie with Leslie Chueng and Jessica May Liu who appeared in it as well.
    Nina Mui played the part of Leslie as Leslie Chueng played the part of Robin and Jessica May Liu played the part of, well, Jessica.
    Raymond Yip was the production assistant who did the slate, and he played the Giant Vulture while James J. Kroupa did the Voice of the Giant Vulture.

    I remember seeing this as a two year old and being scared (but to a point. It was only really scary when the vulture started appearing in my dreams trying to eat ME). Took me a while to regain Big Bird (from Sesame Street)'s trust.

    I remember seeing the movie as a kid and was so thrilled and proud it was made in NYC and parts of Chinatown NYC I had been to as a kid. Looking at this again and seeing the shot of the Twin Towers was a gut punch I was not expecting.

    This never scared me; I found it to be very silly. I remember the "behind the scenes" segment fascinating me, too. I wonder if that was what partly got me interested in special effects?

    This popped in my head while laying in bed and decided to see if I could find it, even though I couldn't think of the name of it. Couldn't believe it was on UA-cam! Saw this back in the late 90's while on vacation at Seaside Heights watching Nickelodeon and the intro scared me a little. LOL.

    Oh God, I have VERY vague memories of this watching short back when I was about four years old, and being reasonably unnerved by it. Thinking about it as I grew up, I was almost certain that it existed, but I had no way of knowing how I would even find it (or if I actually cared enough to put in the effort). Good to know that I can laugh at it nearly 20 years later.
    You know, I also have childhood memories of a REALLY weird stop-motion skit about an uneaten sandwich (or maybe some other food?) being thrown into the garbage/sewers, and then coming to life and contemplating its existence in an angry, mournful manner. Probably came from the same show as this one, or at least from Nickelodeon. Does anyone else remember, or am I legitimately crazy on that one?

    • @mikes.4352
      @mikes.4352 8 років тому

    • @Dinobolt1
      @Dinobolt1 Рік тому

      That other one about the sandwich sounds a lot like the opening of Foil Man. The sandwich gets angry and threatens to eat the people who discarded it, then he's stopped by a superhero called Foil Man, who is made out of tinfoil and can shapeshift into anything.

    Mitt Romney: I'm sorry, Jim, I'm gonna stop the subsidies to PBS..I like PBS, I love Big Bird. Actually like you, too. But I'm not going to -- I'm not going to keep on spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for...
    (watches the Vulture short, then thinks for a few seconds)
    I'm sorry, but I'm gonna stop funding for Nickelodeon. Don't get me wrong, I love Nickelodeon, I grew up with all the old school Nicktoons and shows.......BUT THAT VULTURE IS ONE SCARY MOTHERF***ER!!

    why..WHY!!!??? WHY did I decide to look this up on the internet after ~20 years of repressing this short film from my mind. The source of my most terrifying, scarring for life childhood nightmares! I guess I just HAD to find out if this short truly existed or was just a figment of my imagination. Finally i have evidence that I wasn't crazy! Why did I decide to look for this in the middle of the night too!?...clearly I am not sleeping tonight. excuse me youtube brethren, as I go and attempt to stifle these memories once again with an unnatural amount of cute kitten videos. still can't believe I found this short!

    Honestly as a kid the thing that got me to jump was the title card scene after that since I was already familiar with The Muppets and seseme street it didn't effect me. However the one thing on Nickelodeon that did scare me was Are You Afraid of the Dark. If the Vulture didn't scare you that show would make you wet yourself and run.
