If I understand correctly Li Shi Min was Tuoba himself

I think through inter-marriage of his family. Xianbei clans were inter-married to Han into his family tree further up. Such as through the descendant of Dugu Xin

I thought Li Shimin was Han Chinese on his fathers side and Xianbei on his mothers side.

I am looking forward to your take on Shaolin temple during the early Sung dynasty; in particular, the influence of the Emperor Zhao Kuang Yin and all of the Generals he sent to teach there.

Thank you for making this video about the history of shaolin and clearing things up.
There is a lot of misconception online about the history of shaolin temple. Most of these story’s are not spread by shaolin itself but by people who mistake fiction for truth.
Here is how the story is told in Shi Yongxin’s book ‘Buddha-nature’.
Time: 621 AD (wich is the 4th year of the reign title of Wude of the Tang Dynasty)
    Events:
General Wang Shichong, who commanded at that time a very large insurgent horde and was fighting the government army led by the prince Li Shiming of the Tang Dynasty, sent general Wang Renze who was general Wang Shichong’s nephew to surprise prince Li Shiming.
When general Wang Renze was marshaling his insurgent troops to close in on prince Li Shiming’s army, twelve warrior monks from Shaolin monastery led by Shan Hu, the chieftain of the monastic monkhood, plotted with a lieutenant of general Wang Renze and got the lieutenant’s collaboration. Then late in the night of the 27th of the 4th lunar month that year, Shan Hu together with his twelve warrior monks broke into the city where general Wang Renze’s insurgent troops where stationed.
The thirteen monks went furtively to the camp where general Wang Renze slept and captured him. Later the thirteen monks escorted the captured general to the barracks of the government army and turned the rebellious general over to the prince.
Three days later prince Li Shiming sent a plenitude of awards and gifts to the shaolin temple.

It's better, but you will notice no mention of the Cypress valley estate, and that also deliberate.

According to the seed that’s sown,
So is the fruit you reap therefrom,
Doer of good will gather good,
    Doer of evil, evil reaps,
Down is the seed and thou shalt taste the fruit thereof.
