my grandparent's first new car was a 50 chevy 2 door - I still have the receipt somewhere. they kept it 5 years then got a new Buick. back then, people would drive a car 5-7 years at most, then throw it away and buy another new one.

Out here in India, perhaps because of the hot climate, all cars of that era had sun visors.
In 7 years it looked better....you were told upholstery cost 5,000?....cannot believe everything you're told
