I apologise for the sound quality of this youtube, especially the first 3 minutes, and later for the delayed soundtrack which plays over the actual recording.
I loved this! Dr Stephen Skinner is starting to provider more specific information about his favourite grimoires, spirits he uses etc and that’s a good thing.
I am finding it hard to do lbrp using deities I have no interest in. Is there a book from Stephen on LBRP and how to use elements, for example, for the new magician?
Dr Skinner mentions the name of a spirit(the Alice Bailey incident), but I can’t quiet make out clearly the name of this particular spirit! Can anyone clarify!
As an interested observer I have some questions. When summoning spirits, do they have a choice as to whether or not they appear? When given a task to perform, do they have a choice as to whether or not they do it? If spirits are sentient beings, are they being treated like slaves by those who summon them? What are the ethics of demanding that a being from another dimension do your bidding?
I would have to argue magick is mechanical. The techniques produce a result and if they don't, then that methodology is discarded. It requires an interplay of spirit and mind with technique or technique is where the twain merge. The mind has to get lost in the process, opening the gateway to the spirit realm. Whether one sees the spirits or not, a proper combination yields the consciously desired ( not intention based) result.
Thanks so much, good information 👍🏻 I didn’t quite understand the name of the author for the book on Angel Magic? I googled it but nothing resembling that name came up. Can anyone tell me?
It think you’re referring to (Frater) Ashen Chassan. If you want to check him out a bit (and listen to more of Dr Skinner) I would highly recommend the ‘Glitch Bottle’ podcasts which can also be found on UA-cam. I personally don’t know very much about Ashen Chassan but he is very popular and is one of the few people that I’ve heard Dr Skinner regularly endorse.
Everything spoken about here can be explained with the idea of the 'collective unconscious', though...or even the cybernetic chaos-magick perspective that there's no difference between 'out there' and 'in here'...
its refreshing to listen to the subject matter being discussed without the usual Hollywood drama that it often attracts. I am of the view( rightly or wrongly) that magic operates not so much on a psychological level but rather as a bridge between spheres of perceptual reality. Theoretical physicists are, for example seriously exploring the possibility of multiple universes or multidimensional realities beyond what is perceived via the conventionally accepted range of the five senses.(quantum mechanics for example is probably about as close as it gest to a theoretical explanation of how magical operations achieve their results).
Those spirits always ask you for something wicked in return for offering you a service. And if you refuse to obey them they can kill you or make you suffer
I respect Skinner highly, he has done a lot for the magical community but he is incorrect when he says tht all magic is spirit based. Read your Agrippa, the magician also has power
@@daa5249 So let's break down what you said. You first ask a question which was, "How did you test and verify this theory?" The answer is first & foremost that Agrippa is a much bigger authority than Skinner. Secondly, nearly all of modern magic operates off of this principle. Testing it out is not hard. The second part of your response was a statement which was, "You just want to reassure yourself nothing is waiting for you when you leave your body". This presumes that you know my thought process which you assuredly do not. Further you make an assumption based off of your own beliefs & project them onto me. Again, you do not know me & therefore do not know my thought process. Especially based off of one response to the video. Further, your statement is asinine since it actually has nothing to do with my response or the video itself. Please do better & refrain from making yourself look like a cretin.
@@realherbalism1017 So your main premise it that because it's the current belief therefore it's correct? Well if you use that standard of the 'current' belief then I guess the spirit world doesn't exist because I'm guessing that most people don't believe in it anymore but we both know that's false. Why would you need to do any kind of ceremony to get you to help you? Since you claim it's just you. My guess that if you heard of a house that was having paranormal activity, you would believe it was someone in the house doing it in ALL cases even if the original people moved out and someone else moved in and experienced the same issues. There is something called critical thinking.
@@daa5249 Perhaps you should reread my statement. You clearly did not comprehend what I said. You know what, let me just explain it to you to avoid any further misunderstanding. In my original statement I said, "I respect Skinner highly, he has done a lot for the magical community but he is incorrect when he says that all magic is spirit based". This does not imply that there are no spirits, this implies that only some magic is spirit based. I then say, "Read your Agrippa, the magician also has power". This is a statement of fact & you would know it to be fact if you had read the Three Books of Occult Philosophy. Further you would also know that this is true because had you used anything like creative visualization, affirmations, or something similar you would know that it is effective & causes real change in the environment. Instead you have to get on here, pretend you know what your talking about, make false assumptions about my statement & read into it what you what want to. This shows both a lack of comprehension & experience on your behalf & you are frankly not qualified to argue with me because it is apparent you have less knowledge than me .
@@realherbalism1017 Well I have never practiced Magick but I know enough to stay away from it unless I want to risk some evil entity waiting for me when I leave my body. If you re-listen to Skinner on this topic he never claimed ALL Magick is spirit based, so I guess both of us need to pay better attention.

At first I thought you were making some glitchy avant-garde electronic music.
Don't worry Doctor, everything's fine 👌🏼👌🏼
You are amazing.
Always a treat listening to Dr Skinner
Brilliant. This man is a master teacher.

God bless these podcasts, gets me through the day as well as keeping me connected to the occult community at large.
I wish I could help to do something to compensate you for all your work. Thank you, Mr. Skinner. Thank you so much~
Thank you so much for your time explaining your experiences. The most interesting of all videos fro; this 2021 Llewellyn’scon.

It's always such a big pleasure and learning opportunity to hear dr Skinner. Your work is invaluable

24:34 For books on Angle magic I’d recommend anything by Mr. Euclid, the Alexandrian chap.
Damn 🤣👌🏼
What is the name of the author @ 24:13 in reference to Angel Magick? TIA
Ashen Chassam
great talk!
Thank you very much.
is Magic spiritual or psychological? Yes.
Dr Skinner mentions the name of a spirit(the Alice Bailey incident), but I can’t quiet make out clearly the name of this particular spirit! Can anyone clarify!
The spirit of Mercury, from Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy - Taphthartharath
Quantum Mechanics anyone? Thank you for posting and answering questions Dr. Skinner. Much oblige.

If its 'in our head"- then how do you explain witnesses or actions of witnesses outside ourselvs that confirm what happened

Is anyone experienced consequence in performing evocation and asking a spirit to do a job?
What is the source of the “in the head” magic he was referring to?
Chaos Magic
