Man city could have put his salary in escrow and waited until the verdict was made before either paying him or not. City as an institution cannot hold an employee guilty until found innocent or public opinion, it cannot base it's decision on anything but the law..

He was unavailable to play for his club so you should not get paid, couldn't feed his kids and other players had to lend him money?. He was earning half a million pounds a month and had no savings?. What kind of family man is that.......
His behaviour was his choice. This ultimately led to other issues arising, then spiraling out of control. Whichever way he wants to justified it, he ultimately should have known better? He needs to come to terms with this fact to recover and find contentment in his life.
That’s not the argument though. City stopped paying wages based on allegation which was he was found to be innocent for. They therefore should pay him.
