I didn't think there was too much water. It just needed to be cooked a bit longer. If you have a lot of water in your pot, you can break up one or two potatoes; this will help thicken the liquid. much love. never stop cooking, we love this videos

The curry looks nice, everyone learns as they go we all cook differently, what I do I spice my chicken apart with chicken spice cause it need flavor, then with the onions I just add rajah, tumeric, salt, curry leaf, 1 bay leaf 3 cardamons pods, garlic and ginger then let it braise in pot then add chicken to pot with 1 teaspoon salt on low heat with your potatoes let it simmer for 30-45 minutes remember potatoes draw it's own water so don't add to much water to your pot only if you see it's less and want to burn then add a little just enough to not burn, if it's too watery then make a Corn starch mix to thicken sauce up, 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch to 1 Tablespoon Water mix till it dissolves then add to the pot and let it simmer it will thicken but if it's a big pot like yours add 2 Tablespoons of cornstarch to 2 Tablespoon water,
Laughed too lekker when you started taking water out😭😂 it’s okay. I made curry so many times before my husband foodie husband actually loved it🫠😂 try ma again😭😂
Fatima sydow videos and recipes helped me alot with cooking. 1. Please cut your potatoes smaller and hold it in your hand while cutting into cubes. 2. Do not add the breast pieces in whole.😅
Sheeca, buy your spices at giants sweets. I am also in the Northern Suburbs and get all my spices from them. The quality of the spices makes a big difference. You'd also be able to get your danya from them 😊
Rasheeqah, where you went wrong is you must want to have lis to cook otherwise it will show in the end product. Good food is made with love, you are just not into it. I know it's not for everyone but at least try to enjoy the time cooking and with practice you will get better at it
You're doing great. Practice practice practice, and you'll become a master chef. Also, try and clean while you cook. That way you have space and everything is not so all over the place❤
Just like that when sheeca came back she was married, 2 babies, and her dream home. Watch hoe stoek die girl uit met n cook book. Don't say i didnt warn you 🤭🤣 meanwhile the aunties judging are still living with their skoonma 🤣🤣🤣

Add oil.fry for a few minutes till lightly golden add dry of free curry leaves finally chopped.add 1-2cardamon pods..i use only fresh garlic and ginger or freshly made home made..add to your onion mixture .and your spices let summer and..when done add your potatoes and cook half way tru..then add chicken add i cup water and Give a quick boil and when almst soft and enough sauce is leftadd danya. summer your food on low till when you see the oil comes to the top of the food...then you know your food are done...DONT FORGET TO CUT UP YOUR CHICKN IN PIECES
Hey Rasheeqah....love your videos....hubby also watches now lol😅....cooking the chicken currry im thinking to myself you must have Bahiyah live with u❤
We've all started by not knowing. Don't be so hard on yourself! Ì only learnt how to cook when I got married too, and if it wasn't wasn't my inlaws giving me grace, I would've given up that same time lol. Here's a quick chicken curry recipe that I've somewhat mastered. Very easy. 3-4 onions chopped leka (the more onions, the more gravy) I throw about 2 bottle tops of oil in pot, add the onions. I then put in 2 cinnamon sticks, 2 cardamom pods, 3-4 curry leaves and 2 heaped tablespoons of garlic and ginger paste. Let it cook for 5 minutes adding little bits of water. Just so that it don't dry out. Then you add your spices. I only use rajah mild curry and roasted Masala. That's it. I don't measure that, you can just throw as you feel and how spicy you want it. Eventually you'll feel with your heart whats right lol. I also throw in about 1 1/2 teaspoon salt. Then throw in little bits of water again, to make it like a paste. Let it cook for another 5 minutes. Now you add your cut up chicken pieces. There's no right way to cut chicken, atleast I don't have a specific way,I just cut it up in leka small pieces and I take the skin off. Add that to the pot with your potatoes. And some water, not too much, like a half cup. Let it cook for 20-30 minutes, checking and stirring. Adding water if necessary. Lastly, I figured out a leka hack that now people are requesting this curry at family functions lol. Add in 1 tablespoon of apricot jam. Stir it leka in and bon apetit! Try this recipe. Less spices and minimal effort. Inshallah you'll get better girl!❤ There's so many easy recipes I have. You can just message if you lis to make something lol. Maybe try tomatoe bredie next
Ek likes so Bahiyyah. She is indeed. She reminds me of my bestie when I started cooking in high school and in my varsity years I used the curry recipe my friend wrote down and from there I kept going.😁💐
Curry is the easiest thing to make..to thicken it up add some mazena and water, make it into a thin paste and stir it into your food to reduce water...but to each their own and everyone learns at their own pace. I see you doing leka meals in future. Well done on your first try..Don't be too hard on yourself. ❤😅
When I watch your cooking videos then I wish I could be in the kitchen with you to help 😅 but next time follow a Fatima Sydow UA-cam tutorial she has loads of cooking and baking videos perfect for beginners.
Next time as jou kos te loperig is, meng bietjie meel of corn starch met water (so 1 tsp flour and 2 tsp water) and pour it in and let it cook a bit until it thickens. Add more as needed. Hy sal wel dik raak. This saved me so many times 😂
Your oil was abit too less dear And the chicken must be cut will make the stirring and dishing easier. Plz watch our beloved aunty fatimas vids she does everything step by step also use her masalas curry will come out lovely in sha Allah.
For everything was good but the only thing missing was seasonings , like spices which ever ones you prefer , chicken or beef stock Grated tomatoes or some chutney It makes curries very yummy
First time I made curry it was also a flop. But don't give up, try and try again. Write the recipes down so you don't have to call every time. It helped me a lot in the beginning.
How is my comment rude? Do you know the meaning of onhandig and the context in which it was said? No harm intended whatsoever. I have been watching this channel way before Rasheeca got married and loved it. I don't follow people I don't enjoy watching. I enjoy watching her. Absolutely no harm intended
Naahh, Darion was not impressed. Lmao!🤣🤣🤣 But you done good Sheecs, you only learning so don't be hard on yourself. Next time you will do much better and it will taste even better! Tip: Add 1 tsp of some corn flower ( Maizena) to the dish when you threw too much water. It will thicken the gravy. You can also add the potatoes 1st to soften and then add in your chicken and gradually add water. Hope this helps and well done, you are doing good! Don't give up!🥰
When you said you don't have enough time I just knew you weren't setting yourself up for success. Curry is definitely not one to "get it over and done with as soon as possible". But definitely A for effort and entertainment!!!
There's no need to have flop food if you just watch Fatima Sydow cooks videos, also I think it's wasteful what u doing, so many ppl starving of hunger:(
If u dont have passion for cooking u will never take the time to make effort.any man wants nice food after a long day of work...anyone who can read can follow a recipe....if your heart is not in it ,it will never work...how u going to teach your girls to cook? I had absolutely no interest in cooking in my parents house...when i got married i HAD no choice..men wants to eat from their wives hands...when u have guest over u need to cook yourself not order takeout...more barakah in foood made at home, and u know your own hygiene and what goes in it.dont forget takeways and even home cooked meals from outside the home is to make profit and profit only...my husband would never eat food looking like that..they work hard cant feed them junk,,and waste hard earned money
This sounds straight up like Indian mentality a women doesn't HAVE TO COOK of she doesn't want to Indian people will make you feel like you not good enough if u buy takeout for your guest or don't cook for your family I would know it's so unislamic!!
If you have NOTHING nice to say ma’am, I suggest you get off sheecas UA-cam channel, go cook your husband a lovely meal, and let people be who they are. ❤️bless you.
Ekt nou my oë so gerol dat dit amper vasgesit het toe ek jou comment lees. In watse era leef jy? Ons manne worry nie oor sulke goed. Hulle weet presies met wie hulle getrou het. Next time your food is so watery you must add 2 tablespoons of flour and little water it thickens the food

Always try to have mazena in your house as a hack. If there is too much water, you add the mazena, and it will make a nice thick sauce
