this is EXACTLY what I was looking for, I've learned some knots but these are the easiest and most efficient ones from what I have seen till now, and covers the most scenarios for setting up a tarp. Tomorrow I will go again in nature and I will apply what I will practice them after I finish write this comment. Amazing tips, thank you so much!!!

I wish I saw this video first before learning bowline and the taught line hitch knots....these quick release knows seem so much quicker and easier. Thanks great teacher
I would substitute the "tensioning knot" for a trucker's hitch, especially on a ridgeline. It's much faster to tie, you'll use a lot less line and it's more secure. It's also faster to adjust since you don't have to undo several wraps around the standing post.
Thank you for this video, it is very useful, and the ties look really easy to make. I will be trying this on my next camping. Are they suitable for heavy wind as well? Thank you for sharing. Greetings from UAE
I just left my job at amazon at a crossdock. I'd tie up to 100 quick release knots a day! Best thing to take away from that job, glad to see others use them in camping!
I believe the three knots people should learn are the truckers hitch, taught line, and slip knot. Truckers hitch + slipknot allows for a super taught, but quick take down, ridge line. Slipknot + taught line allows for the same. Truckers hitch is also much faster to tie than the knot you used in the beginning, and it’s a useful knot to know in general for tying things down. Great Video!
The first one you describe is also known as the Evenk slippery hitch, the Evenk are a tribe of reindeer German in Lapland who developed this knot as a means of securing quickly due to sub zero temperatures, and not wanting bare hands in cold for too long, I use it on my ridgeline all the time
Great informative video, you make it look so simple to do, without over complicating it. You also look very familiar to a guy that drank in the Salisbury Arms when I worked there.
I've been looking for a simplay tarp knots video for a bit now. Many thanks for taking the time to make and post this. Going to try and teach myself now! Cheers.
Thank u much!! i am new in tarp camping, and I think, this video tutorial is vital for every beginner 🙏🏻 i got all informations i needed about line tying
Holy shitballs... excellent video... short straight to the point, brilliantly explained... I’ve been a bowline and truckers hitch guy... great to have options and that 3rd knot, the prussick... awesome. Cheers matey, Steve
First knot was new for me and I had to learn it immediately, third knot is useful but I knew that already. However, I don't see the purpose of second one - it's not adjustable, takes a long time (winding around the tree) to tie/untie and doesn't bring anything over f.e. trucker's hitch.
One thing i'm awful at mate, cheers for the demo, I think even I can do these ones now! I always used bungees before the last camp and trev helped me set up properly, this time i plan to set up help free! This will help loads as given me a much needed refresh
Wooooooowwww, very good VID about Knots, thx for that!!!!! I will try it!!!! Are you Irish? In my german ears it sounds irish......please dont be angry with me if I am wrong ;););) Greetings from far away Rheinbach / Germany..... Henning
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
Not bad. Second knot could be a trucker's hitch--you can still adjust while it's around the post without having to unwind the cordage and put a safety loop over the tag end. Just my opinion.
This is probably the best knot video I have ever watched: a few simple knots and I like how you show how to tie each knot twice. Thanks.
The slow mo rewind was extremely helpful. Thank you!
The last knot is an absolute life savor
By far the most useful and straight forward practical knots for this application ( and many other uses) on UA-cam (!)
I Really Like FAST short vid! No Long drawn out explanations, a picture is worth ten thousand words mate..
Videos gotta be worth a million then lol
Great idea adding the slow motion the second time around, it’s a nice visual and no one else is doing it from the videos I’ve seen.
Best and easiest knots explanation ever!
Espectacular, sir!

I wish I saw this video first before learning bowline and the taught line hitch knots....these quick release knows seem so much quicker and easier. Thanks great teacher

I just spent the last hour or so practicing all 3. I think were good now. Thanks for the concise demo!
Thanks for really useful knots. The slow motion clips helpt a lot to see how you are doing them.
Thank you for this video, it is very useful, and the ties look really easy to make. I will be trying this on my next camping. Are they suitable for heavy wind as well? Thank you for sharing. Greetings from UAE

Really like that Siberian hitch knot. I use it all of the time now.
Wow that was such a great explanation of the three knots I fail to research everytime I go to the woods. Next time!!
