He keeps track of the upcoming UFC talent in Mexico and was surprised he never heard of Miguel winning a karate championship in California, so he might be keeping track on the Sekai Taikai. When he discovers the combined dojos win or that Miguel was the champion, he might connect the dots and go after Miguel and Johnny.
