You have a chicken in your studio.
I like you.

Chicken
Aquila Aleksa I have chickens just two
Aquila Aleksa I have a duck
Aquila Aleksa i was like omg she has a chicken subscribed immediately. I had a chicken 2 loved itt
i wish i had a studio chicken😢
reece grooms want KFC instead? 🐔🍗
Joshua yaz why not both
now that is just cognitive dissonance
reece grooms I wish I had a studio . and a studio chicken
Gimme Mike Dirnt that would make having a studio chicken easier
I wish she was my art teacher or something hahahah
sAmE
She use to be
Lol or something
She is! Rite now rite here 💕
If you learned something watching this.. then she was ha
You had me at chicken
studio chickens are the best!( I have 4 and they give me breakfast everyday >U
iMoura UK Period-ically. 😉
iMoura UK I don't understand what you are asking. What I meant was I eat the eggs that they lay, I don't eat my chickens.
How is your chicken so friendly?? Mine tries to kill me everytime i go near him lmao
Ebtisam hers is a hen, roosters in my experience r always evil.... although I have come across evil hens too... although I have made my evil chickens like me slightly more by treating them to meal worms while I pet them
I had a rooster WHILE ago and it would always try to chase me and my family would just watch me suffer lol
i had a rooster that loved me and would sit on my lap whenever i sat outside :^) he was so cute i miss him dearly
I have a pet chicken that's 10 years old and she likes coming inside the house so much that she waits outside the door or flies on the window sill for me to bring her in so she sleeps in my room on a towel, she also prefers being around me and my family inside the house rather than being outside with the rest of my animals which she will peck if they go near her and I absolutely love her and she has never pecked me or any other people❤️🐓
hahahahah different breeds have different temperaments
You're funny, quirky and very educational.
And you have a chicken in your studio.
Hello I am now a new subscriber
XD I love the wording in your comment. haha apparently a lot of other people do to XD XD
Robin Clonts Ahh thank you for replying to me and I apologize for not getting back any sooner!!
And I've noticed xD
I really enjoyed this. But I think I'm going to have to stick with a studio cat. If I brought home a studio chicken, the studio cat will think I gave him studio cat KFC.
TheTroutkitty w
TheTroutkitty
Omg😂
Lol
u remind me of violet in mr incredibles
hah that's awesome. you're the second person to say that, two others said i'm like the babysitter in that movie XD
+Robin Clonts omg you do look like her lol. anyway ur awesome
this red water is so freaking beautitul
Mart B it looks like beet juice
Ehhhno *BEAUTIFUL beat juice
haha beet juice- definitely less gruesome than relating it to blood
and thank you!!
#20, best advice of them all. Practice practice. People say to me (when I play the piano) how "talented" I am. Nope, not talent. Just as you are not a talented artist. You are a practiced and dedicated woman who chose to spend her time becoming great at something you chose.
I only bought a piano 4 years ago and started playing by ear.. I cannot read sheet music, I only watch people playing on youtube while sitting at my piano for hours upon hours playing until I get it right.. there is no talent in that.. only practice and dedication.
I wanted to be able to play and now I can.. I was hoping you'd mention practice- because therein lies how you become great, is really putting forth effort.
Wow! I have a friend from church who learned to play piano by listening to others play. She can read sheet music but prefers to learn by listening. I thought she as the only one who learned by listening. she plays beautifully too.
Agreed on practice but not on no talent. The thing which made you choose piano, the thing which made you sit hours without getting board, the thing which helped you pickup music without learning sheet IS CALLED Talent. Talent is God given but it needs practice too.
I love the transitions between each tip lololol
YOU are hilarious! You remind me of my daughter and her silliness! learned SO much from this video and I am 51 years old, just really diving into my love of painting. Keep doing what your doing, thank you!
I gotta say, this is the first random recommended video that I'm really glad I clicked.
Now I'm thinking about painting again!
I love that!! I hope you do! you should totally tag me on instagram if you do! @robinclontsart
I just bought a piece of MDF board today and started painting on it already, I'm typically a very tight painter, so it's great how smooth the paint goes on and how nice it is to add small details! And it was a 2x4 ft piece that I got for $7 and got it cut down into 18 great pieces!
You have to check out Stuart Davies!
I do not speak English and almost do not understand anything, but I can not resist such a delicious charisma, I subscribe to this channel.
I use a paper plate as a pallet lol
CementCake lol same
I use a plastic tray, works well and can be washed off
*****
oh i love this idea! i will try that!
marzmaniac omg amazing
CementCake Of course!!! Why didn't i think of that? I'm grabbing a paper plate now
You are a very bright spot on a dreary old day!! Thank you for being you!!
4:45
UGH IM SO GLAD YOU SAID THAT! :,D
I'm an artist, and my family has always said that I'm not making my own art when I look at a reference photo. Soo :,)
GOOD! It's good to make things your own, but references have made my art SO much better
I know! Plus, I love this video and I love you omg, sub earned :D
I swear it makes me sooo angry when they say that
Yes, me same thing, but when I look at reference photo then imagination goes in and it becomes my own, because i cant stick to the reference photo too long lol, check out my paintings on Red bubble to see, its called evenna
Her paintings literally look like photos, not even exaggerating! They’re absolutely _Amazing!_
great tip on the masking tape!! I always get a rip but that technique might help!! Thanks! (Liked the palette knife tip too!)
That chicken stole my heart omg
this is helpful even though i work mostly with watercolor and markers, i love that tape hack i'll definitely be using that!
Lauren's Spooky Graveyard oooh cool...do you mix markers and watercolor? I do from time to time...I may have to share a video of it. thanks for the mixed media reminder lol
Felicia Follum lol not really. i mix colored pencils and markers tho
Lauren's Spooky Graveyard Ive been wanting to start using colored pencils with my watercolor pieces. Which brand do you use?
Syd Black i use prismacolor pencils and winsor and newton paints. a little pricy, but worth the splurge.
I love that you guys are sharing techniques on here. Thanks Lauren!
As someone who has owned many chickens, I can say they are absolutely lovely to have around when you've earned their trust.
You're an amazing artist and these tips have been more helpful than years of art classes combined! Teachers always tell you to draw but don't always offer tips and tricks, just how to use materials!
Art should never be put into square box, your reassurance to many artists is a vital factor for their success. I didnt paint for years only because i thought I was doing it wrong, not the "right" way. And only now I can say that this mind limitation is over and this amazing thing you do about sharing important points with others is truly important! Love your work! :)
Why am I here I can't even draw or paint
Because this video makes you feel like you can
oh my gosh hahahahhah I'm cracking up
Because you are an artist deep down get down and do something
me either lol.
lol same. for the humour I guess :D
Hello Robin!
I showed your video to my high school art class yesterday. They enjoyed it a great deal, and found your tips useful and reassuring. And your personality hit a chord among quite a few of them.
They told me to 'like' it, but I already had.
So consider this your informal second 'like.'
I love this! thank you!!
The problem with using hairspray (for drawings anyway, not sure for paintings) is that your art will yellow over time. Just use fixative, it ain't that expensive.
Moon it's for when you don't have any at that particular time. Inspiration comes from random places. you should use it after
nononono fixative is 10/10 with pencil and charcoal but once i used it with chalk pastel and my drawing of troye sivan went straight from troye sivan to donald trump. (yes the peach became orange)
yelpsie Did you get a pastel fixative then? theres ones specifically for that i believe.
yelpsie 😂😂😂😂😂
@@yelpsie8025 that's hilarious but let's not call orange Donal Trump. 😭 I like orange
You have a freaking chicken in your studio!! So lucky... I love your art btw, especially the waves.
J-Horse Hopie! And I totally agree,
ARMY
Kate Davis gosh
I just watched 12 minutes and 35 seconds of hacks for artist and I don' even fucking draw. Very interesting though.
hahah that's awesome! XD I'm very impressed you made it through
Aybel is a Rocm LEVI SENPAI
lol I don't really do paints yet I watched it XD I liked it a lot!
I only liked your comment cause I love your username
i absolutely adore you, not only am i learning things, you also cheer me up for the whole day. dont lose you quirky way about you.
Last one was an incredibly useful advice. Ancient wisdom from this little lady. And the chicken... Lol, what a cutie!
this is the first video I saw of yours...
I like ur chicken.
Kristina Hamilton same lmao
haha thanks guys!
the full hoodie/sweatpants look is me when i have to paint in my cold ass dining room because it has the biggest table
I love the DIY pallet, definitely doing that one. Also, the the practice thing is true. The more you do it, the more you learn, the better you get.
You're so affirming and fun! The last tip made me think of painting around the clock. Like the song. 'Paint, paint, paint around the clock, gonna paint, gonna paint around the clock tonight!'
awwwwwww lil baby chicken ;A; and that natural lightbulb tip is seriously the greatest thing. i suffered with gross yellow light for a couple of years before i was like 'why am i torturing myself' and i went on a hunt. i told my family because i was asking them if they knew what exactly the bulbs are called (LED daylight bulbs) and my bro ended up finding them for me and getting them for me! it's FANTASTIC! i have a two bulb tall lamp in my room, and the movable head i put the bulb in and the other stationary one is the yellow one. i keep both so i don't kill the natural ones so quickly and the yellow is good for just general use and not feeling so awake with the natural light one haha.
you are like the craziest person on youtube. in a good way! I LOVE YOU 💜
haha thank Mel XD
Watching your video will keep me happy all day! The world needs more smiles (and chickens!)
I happened upon this by chance but you're hilarious! I love everything about you.
Your last hack reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:
"If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means, paint and that voice will be silenced" -Vincent Van Gogh
I love that quote
I only work with pencil but want to get into painting soon, your channel is helping a lot! thanks!
same here!
i love the chicken
haha as do I. Chubs is a good one. He's so calm and fat and friendly.
+Robin Clonts I have chickens too. They are magical animals obviously
hahah
+Robin Clonts yeah xD! Anyway your video was so helpful, thank you!! You're an amazing artist * ^ *
Thanks Giorgia!
Robin, as others have said, you are very likable!!! I will watch more of your video's not only.because this one had substance - but also you're the star of the show LOL
The tape one is so genius. No more ripped watercolour pieces thank to you!
loved the hacks!
Thank you Linsday! you have na awesome channel! you have almost the same voice as my friend's mom, it's crazy
Hi thought the board good the tape idea your paintings very good 😊
I fell in love with you almost immediately. I subbed c:
Me too!
***** Hello :D
Me three!
I love that thank you!
I am a senior college art student and i can't believe no one has ever thought me the face drawing technic! thank you xxx
I do watercolours and I've never even used oils before and I just keep watching your videos, you are just so funny and hoodie is like my spirit animal
This was awesome. many great hacks explained in the most fun way! Yeah. Also. if you get a cheap kids meal at Chipoltle you get a smooth cardboard divider with 3 sections that makes a great palette. Thanks again.
i love that thanks! I used a cereal box this week as my pallet XD
LOL, Terrific. I like having separate sections, but any smooth non-porous will do. Have to ask, what type of cereal? Last request. I was trying to do a project painting on rocks with acrylic but it came out too thick and unnatural. Any suggestions or tutorials? Thanks Always
XD honey bunches of oats- i don't eat cereal normally, but I borrowed from family I was staying with. Im surprised it came out thick. I wonder if the paint itself was getting old or dried out. It'd be fun to do a 'painting on non-traditional surfaces video'
I think it might be me. My traditional medium has been pencils, markers or chalk. I love chalk cause it's like pastels only So Cheap. Anyway if you have a tutorial on paint prep or brush work I'll watch it. Honey bunches of success to you and yours.
P.S-Tried charcoal transfer yesterday with client (I'm a therapist) Didn't transfer perfectly but working on it. Thanks again.
your paintings are so pretty
thank you!! :) :) Congrats on starting your channel!
I'm not even an artist and this is my new favorite thing on UA-cam.
XD thank you!
I've studied art for years, also at an European art academy, your shortcuts are super valid, and all artists do it as well! Good video.
OMG I THOUGHT THE PAINTINGS ON THE SHELFS (especially the red sea one) WERE PHOTOGRAPHS
wow thank you!
Robin Clonts no problem! your truly amazing at painting
As an art student, thank you so much, you just saved my whole life
I never knew about the blue truck until I found your channel!! I now paint much more realistically and I’ve got sooooo many compliments on my artwork and the realistic color matching
Finally someone that is funny and inspirational and an fantastic artist and UA-camr at the same time!!!!!😫❤️😍😂
I find your videos very helpful even though I'm a digital artist.
That's awesome! I'm really glad. Thanks for saying so!
Just found your channel through this video, and you're so fun to watch, and an insanely talented painter! You've got yourself a new subscriber :D
Jeca Martinez Art me 3😉

I'm pretty sure we had to be best friends in another lifetime lol. That chicken man ... love it. The hacks of course are great too!
This popped up in my "suggested" and the timing is perfect - I'm enrolling in an art foundation course next month and hopefully starting an art degree next year! Subbed.
yay! congratulations!! X) thank you for subscribing!
It's been 3 years since this comment, how was your Art foundation course? :D 💕
omg you have a chicken pet
I wonder if she eats chicken...
lotopauanka z. OH MY GOD I HAVE A PET CHICKEN TOO🐔🐤🐣🐓
O.O ....I do eat chicken
sometimes my chickens even eat chicken...
um, that's weird. didn't want to know this.
Paint over photos! God, that's brilliant. I'm gonna find some old photos and start painting over them. I've been wanting to get better at painting, this will help so much ♡♡♡ thanks so much!
#1 I use paper plates (for oil and wax) or a piece of plastic. With acrylic, I use 4 mil plastic to cover a table, instant palette. And when the acrylic dries, I lift it up and reuse it with gel medium. :-) Negative shape painting and voila.
#2 I use low tack masking tape. But good idea.
#3 Only one? I bought a set of 14 pottery/sculpting knives for $16 and it included a nifty case.
#4 Good idea. I like it. Normally the paint settles to the bottom anyway.
#5 Skip the chicken and go for a plant.
#6 Of course. For an interesting take on a color wheel, see Bob Burridge's color wheel.
#7 van Gogh used a picture plane to help with his drawing. So did all of the Renaissance painters.
#8 Great idea. You can color match that way. ;-)
#9 Gesso Transfer. Nice. (I look forward to your tutorial.) Or you could use a substrate and print on your surface of choice, coke cans, chain mesh. See Kathyanne White ua-cam.com/video/-R39_5pIDS4/v-deo.html (I look forward to your tutorial.)
#10 OK. Of course.
#11 Studies. Always was the best way to learn is to copy a master.
#12 Good
#13 I always tell our students, "Don't throw that board away, give it to me. I've been given everything from acrylic boards, to gessoed watercolor paper, to pristine boards. Yay!"
#14 I spray with whey as I go. That fixes it. Whey and alcohol. You can get the concentrate and use a cheap Russian vodka. Van Gogh used to pour a glass of milk over his drawings to fix them. And most probably Degas as well. I find newsprint does not smear as much as good drawing paper.
#15 :-) Right now all the art supply stores, Cheap Joe's, Jerry's, Dick Blick, are having their 40% or more off Summer Blowout Sale.
#16 Even for acrylic this is a good idea. But for oil it is essential. I usually have a couple of drawings, and at least 4 paintings, normally 6, going on at the same time. I often paint in a series, always a good idea, and even paint 3-6 paintings at the same time. :-) =:-0
#17 OK. OK. I subscribed. :-)
#18 Of course or use a picture plane. I had a guy stop buy selling wonderful wooden version for big dollars. Handmade but you can make one with a sheet of plastic and a picture frame and a marker. Good times. (ua-cam.com/video/rlskGj4qfKk/v-deo.htmlm24s BTW, Edwards should sue this guy. ;-)
#19 Indeed. My old friend Richard Thompson used to have a skylight in his studio and he only worked when he had the light. Most artists I know use daylight. Church was a studio painter and had huge windows in his very posh studio. Full Spectrum lights are a great idea.
#20 As my good friend Bob Burridge says, he goes into his studio and does gesture drawing and painting to loosen up for an hour or two and then paints for 8 hours. He does this just about EVERY DAY. If you can't paint, draw.
You have an awesome personality and really helpful tips, I have no choice but to subscribe
:):) thank you! xoxo
You chicken is GOALS!
I love your videos. You are a natural teacher, a real inspiration, very talented AND very funny!!! Thanks.
I watched your video from beginning to end, I’ve never done that. People’s voices are too annoying or content too dull, but you make painting sounds so fun and easy for everyone. I’m so glad I stumbled upon your videos! Keep doing what your doing ❤️
How did I not discover this channel before
XD
Aaaaaaa what! This video is absolutely adorable. I want that chicken.
I love rewatching your videos. You make me smile so much
I didn't paint for years and you inspired me so much that I started new painting in the middle of the night, thank you!

This was a really fun informative video. I skipped the dog and cat alright, I've got three art studio rabbits. They love to try and help me with my work sometimes.😁

florida international in miami! (:
I'm so excited for you! Work your butt off and make sure you ask your teachers a million questions and soak up everything they know about art and being a professional while you're there. I wish I had drilled them with a million personal questions about their experiences while I was in school!
awww thank you!!! i definitely will! (: youre so nice
omg the mdf board is clever
what does she cover the mdf board with?
Helwa Khair my guess is either white gesso or simply white acrylic paint
Sherlyn Lavenia
white gesso or simply white acrylic paint is right!
+Robin Clonts ahhh alright thank you so much!
I love your pet chicken! I have a pet duck, she doesn't paint with me much, but we do go kayaking together! What wonderful companions our feathered friends make :)

AH thank you! I love you!
Robin Clonts I love u too!!😂😂😂😂
really good and great work too, thanks- love that you painted your lovely family xxx
I'm new at learning how to oil paint. My husband is a supervisor at a company that builds all types of things from wood. I mentioned MDF boards and he said that there was tons of scrap mdf boards he could get someone in his crew to cut me some various sizes for free! I got 12 each of 11x14, 10x8, and 4x6. He forgot the 5x7s but that's ok! I gessoed a bunch of them and can't wait to try one out!!
Oh my goodness you're such an awesome person. I hit that subscribe button immediately! Very useful hacks too!
oh man thank you so much! welcome to the family!!
Thank you for the welcome! I hope you're having a wonderful day!!

Robin Clonts I am getting 6! (so excited) They will stay outside most of the time, but we will bring them inside when we are
home.
Really?? ahah Ours hardly ever come in, but it's so funny when they do. I'd do it WAY more if they didnt poop so much
We have a file floored room studio, so it will be easy to clean!

Thank you! Maybe one day!
