    Two reels on Scottish Smallpipes.
As the tunes are in D, I tuned one drone to D and one to A, for a slightly different feel.
Tried separating the audio and adding slight reverb and upping the levels. Though need to get a more precise way of timing the stitching together again.

This is a work of art. Truly immaculate! The tunes from my headphones to my ear drums are the most soothing thing i've ever felt. The amount of skill and training this must take is beyond believeable. Absolutely beautiful!

Pretty wild: I play my Morrisons with the end of the bass drone removed sometimes too, but I thought it was just me.

Hey Hamish! really lovely playing of the pipes! I've started learning Castlerock Road myself. Any advice you'd be able to give me to speed down, playing slower, but still getting the feeling of the tune? Always starting slowly, but for some reason I lose the "touch" with how the tune is supposed to sound.

Cheers. Sorry no great pearls of wisdom, perhaps listen to it a lot so the rhythm is ingrained in you. The version by LAR is the one I've listened to a lot, though the speed they play at is next level!

I cannot seem to find a distinction between reels and horn pipes when I listen to them. Can anyone help my confusion please?

I would say its in the swing of the metre. It's hard to write but a reel is more like a straight 1-2-3-4 where the hornpipe is more swung where the emphasis is on the 1. Like ONE-twothreefour-ONE-twothreefour. Or in syllable form it's like CHICKen noodle CHICKen noodle.

In Scottish music the main difference is that reels are written in Cut Time (2/2) and have 8 measures per part. Hornpipes are written in 2/4 time and have 16 measures per part. There are some idiomatic/stylistic differences, especially when played dot/cut.
