Yeah, the transition years after the fall of the iron curtain is collectively referred here in the West to as the dark ages in the Soviet buffer states, because not a lot of news or influences got out during that time. A lot of poverty and uncertainty. Still, the nations cultures were carried on and flourish to this day. That is consoling.
There is still very little knowledge in the West about countries like Poland and surrounding Eastern European countries in general, which is one of the main motives behind my videos :) I am happy you liked the video!
Ehhh it was very nice to see Poznan especially Orła Białego. I was living there for 9 years, from 1984 to 1993 at number 6. Our block was the second one on this neighbourhood. The first one was this small with 4 floors. I rememeber that at the beginning there was one big construction site while they build all these blocks. And between one construction site and another you have a field or many apple tree (i don't know the word for fruit forest 😂). Now you have trees everywhere and Żegrze (even the whole Rataje) is the one of the most green neighbourhood. Thanks for that film and waiting for next films about Poland - your point of view is very interesting.
Thank you for watching!❤ I apologize for the poor sound quality in this video; unfortunately, I didn't have a microphone during the recording. Additionally, please keep in mind that I am not an expert on these topics, and I may be incorrect about certain points. Creating this video is meaningful to me because the area shown holds significant memories from my life. Living in Poland has greatly influenced my perspective on life. I'm not sure where I would be if I hadn't chosen Poznań for my design studies.
The Stare Żegrze, Orła Biały and Polan estates were built in the area of the village of Żegrze, which was incorporated into the city in 1940, and the construction of the blocks began in the 1970s. The railway station in the park is intended to commemorate the no longer existing railway line leading from Środa Wielkopolska to Poznań with many stations along road
Commies built this area. My sister lives there, but now she owns her apartment. It was meant for 5 people, but it is comfortable ( by western standards) for 2-3 people. She is happy there.
When I was living there, there was a mix of young couples with 1-2 children, and older retired people living there. It was an interesting neighborhood 😊
can see my old aprtment from this video ❤
Cool! Thank you for watching 🙂

Orła Białego🤩 Mój dom.
Najlepsze osiedle w Poznaniu 👍🏻
@@RoamingwithStumieszkałem na Żegrzu. Orła uchodziło kiedyś za dość niebezpieczne
This is where I grew up in the 90s 😉👍 in that longest block 😉
It is a very interesting neighborhood and district 😊

Thank you for the information. As a non polish, it was hard finding information about Zegrze and Orła Białego, and its history, in English.
