Absolutely loving the immersive world of Crimson Desert! One feature I'd love to see is a detailed horse gameplay system. The ability to tame, bond, and customize horses would add so much depth to the game. Imagine exploring the vast landscapes of Pywel on a horse you've personally trained and cared for. It would also be amazing to have realistic horse behavior and interactions, horse should also stay where you left them, not just randomly spawn when you whistle, making the experience even more engaging. They have a pretty in depth horse system in their MMO Black Desert Online. You can tame wild horses, level them up, sell them on the market and I think make your horse available on the market for breeding (can't remember if they have that last one or not). The downside is every mechanic in Black Desert Online is super grindy and RNG based, so you'd level up your tamed or bred horse by riding it, which ends up being spending hours running back and forth. As you level it up, it unlocks skills which are mostly RNG based, some good (quick sprint, stamina, powerslide turns), and some useless as well as negative/bad skills. Horses have tiers (you have to breed for Tier 8 the best one outside of super rare ones like a flying horse, but again super rare chance and it's a lot of work to even get to the point of breeding). You want to max out a horse, hope it has good skills and breed with another of the same level with good skills then RNG decides if the new horse inherits those (like genetics). It would be cool if they bring that to this game, but in a way less grindy, RNG way.
Right? I bought Dragon’s Dogma 2 in hoping that it would achieve the same level of immersion.. But no.. In that game, civilians only exist in town.. You go out of the townsgate for 1 inch, civilians cease to exist, except if it was for a quest.. Outside of town, there’s only pawns and monsters, it breaks the immersion so bad.. But then, even when you’re in town, the people there are doing random things, not a single person doing actual specific work or chores.. This game however, looks very good and very immersive, I can’t wait for it to be out..

There is like 3-4 VA’s that just have gotten constant work since doing voices in Witcher 3. I constantly hear those distinctive British accents in fantasy games and I love it
Speaking of voice acting and Witcher 3, I tried to play that game twice and quit both times within an hour of playing. I could not stand Geralt’s voice acting. totally ruined the game. I never picked it back up.
My only 2 complaints. Particle effects that I hope we can turn down. But my god, these footsteps noises. Why do they have to be SO FREAKING LOUD. Turn the footsteps down by like 500% and it would be awesome and immersive. It sounds like a freaking 700 tons transformer walking.way to loud, annoying and disrupting.
I remember watching the lengthy gameplay trailer of The Witcher 3 years ago, where Geralt's rides from wildlands to the entrance of Novigrad. I was amazed by the atmosphere, graphics and immersion back then. To feel like being a part of a living and breathing world is crucial to a RPG. Now years later Crimson Desert gives me the same vibes. I can't wait to wander around and explore the world.
100% crucial immersion is key I better be able to go to a house or apartment and lay my head down after adventuring or its not a good open world for me lol
agree! the melody is almost the exact same as the melody of skyrims "unbroken road" :D the notes of this short melody are almost identical, just played slower in skyrims song
Special shout out for the music! Briliantly tense during the fights and very ethereal when it needs to be. That whole section from around 14:30 in the temple is sublime.
Fix the camera when Kliff is indoors. That and the weird sound of the footsteps at times have to be the only negative things I took notice of in the whole 52 minutes of Gameplay. Otherwise Everything about this game is Beyond Lovely, and I cant wait to get my hands on it.
11:58 The way the gate opens shows how much detail goes into the game. Ultimately it's the little things that make the game as long as the basics are good :)

@@jackieestacado5651my fear is that this could become a jack of all traits master of none type game where it does everything but it does them poorly or bad
50 minutes of pure gameplay shows they are confident on what they are making and that is a good sign. The lighting or contrast needs to be improved since it looks very bright, footsteps need to be lower cuz it sounds like the MC is a giant or sum, there should be an option to reduce the amount of particles and screen shake as well. I don't expect the game to have the best open-world design or amazing characters, but it looks good and gameplay seems really fun. I'm optimistic about this game
Everything is incredible. My only criticism is the sound of the footsteps on different material. Dirt, rocks, grass, marble. It all sounds exactly the same. Id like to hear some variations in the sound of the footsteps..
It might ruin this footage for you but if you look at the bottom of the screen, you can see the parallax occlusion mapping disappear (or it's some kind of tesselation, but the results are close to the same in this case). Especially on surfaces like cobblestone paths, they go from raised detail to flat. This isn't a major issue, probably just some values that need tweaking but once I noticed it, I couldn't stop looking at it, especially since the game uses POM (or tesselation, whatever it is) a lot and to great effect. Just a funny thing to notice.
It kind of made me a bit dizzy to be completely honest, since it slightly looks like some kind of lens effect, my brain tried to "fix" the perspective of the camera all the time. Not very pleasant if it will be that noticeable in the final game.
Yeah I noticed that too, that's why his feet sometimes go through the ground when he's walking. But the effect looks really good otherwise, and is probably much more performance friendly as compared to creating actual meshes and models for cobblestones. Still I guess they can optimize it a little bit more
Yes, I noticed it when he walked or rided on the cobbled stones. I assumed it's a tesselation effect because I don't know what Parallax occlusion mapping is lol
I think the camera angle is a bit too high. I noticed that when entering a narrow space, it felt even higher. Bring it down a bit so that you can see the area near the character's feet.
voice actors I may recognized: 15:59 Graham McTavish (Castlevania Netflix - Dracula) 27:40 Matt Berry (Comedian Actor > The IT Crowd) My favorite scene is around 22:35 because your relationship with your guild. The plot of your guild being broken and trying to reunite and help them, great material for the plot. Voices and Music: Top Tier The script is solid. Besides that there are some missed lip-sync and I know this is just a preview, good work on the inmersion, the lights, the visuals, the npcs. Pretty great gameplay. I'm glad Pearl Abyss developed its own brand combat gamestyle as we could see. I do really want to thank Pearl Abyss for realising this content and not forgetting about us who are waiting for this game for many years.
I think that, in general, the animations could use some polish. That goes for Kliff, the horses, and NPCs doing NPC stuff. Maybe in combat too. But all that's just me being nit-picky.
idk, something about the obvious "these are characters made from an MMO character creator" look these guys have is charming to me. So many games now use bad motion capture models for their characters and it dives deep into the uncanny valley
Sadly I dont see the quest quality and dialog options/decisions from Witcher 3 or the level of RDR2 world interactivity, liveliness and random encounters yet in the game, based on all the available materials. So I would say more in the Dragons Dogma alley. Crimson Desert still looks very interesting no doubt, but I kinda fear that the quest desing will be very repetitive, the story will be very linear and the world will be very static with not much randomness and interactivity going on. Still definitely a game to keep an eye on.
I wonder if they'll add in reactions from npcs. Like he flew down in front of that npc like it was a normal Tuesday. It would be cool if they react. Just to add even more detail!
If you looking for that kind of reactivity the likes of GTA6 and Kingdom Come 2 are the only games that will really give you that. RDR2 and Kingdom come are still two of most alive and interactive open worlds.
@Ronuk1996 Well there's definitely that in Red Dead 2, even The Witcher 3 has it. I was definitely expecting that NPC to react when he flew down right next to him. If they don't do that, then no worries at all, it will be missed by me a little. It makes the world feel more alive
@Joker-fz7gu Newer games are always improving for sure. They still got like 4 to 6 months minimum till it releases. I know games like GTA6 and the next Witcher game will have things like that. Hopefully they add it here and this game will be even more detailed!
@@MboogyThey shifted of most their focus to crimson desert but still have a smaller team actively working on it. They also said as this comes nearer to launch most of the dev team will shift to DokeV
@@zhenyucai8688 would that imply this game won't need quality of life updates or some devs will stay to keep it polished after release? I know how powerful Unreal Engine 5 is, but holy sh**, I usually only expect indie games like Dwarf Fortress to have complex AI or background mechanics, which would need upkeep in a AAA type game, or I may be wrong, but this looks like bugs will be expected, just from the sheer amount of things going on at any given time. Just feels very ambitious, but I do hope to be surprised, if they do shift their focus to DokeV right after this.
This looks really really really good. The pristine graphics, the atmospheric music, lighting and the attention to detail for the NPCs all of it looks really good. I've been following this game ever since they released their first trailer and ever since then I've been in love with this game. And now finally my wait has come to fruition. I must say the potential this game holds is not only equal to, but exceeds the GOTY games of our past few years. The animations look really smooth to me especially the character's movement animations which have a feeling of weight to them, making us actually feel like we're playing as a rugged Armor donned warrior of the medieval times. The overworld view while skydiving is simply the most beautiful shot I've ever seen in gaming. The combat feels impactful because of the weight of the moves he performs and how the environment can sometimes get destroyed (like the wooden cart that gets destroyed during the ending boss fight) All in all I feel like this game will bring in a new era of open world games if done correctly, i really hope they manage to create a truly immersive open world with more depth to the main character's personality and his storyline
Ive been waiting for this game since 2019!! So stoked to see were getting close!😁👏👏👏 looks outstanding. Devs are really confident being this transparent n that is so refreshing
This genuinely looks like the PERFECT video game, the game me and my friends chatted about existing years ago when discussing what next gen and games could do and be like. I hope they deliver, but if not hats off the the media team for creating masterpiece trailers and gameplay
This looks so good!! I love the flying, it's my favorite aspect of any game. Especially from high above so I can get the full view of the land. One thing I would add for immersion though is when he flies down and lands on the ground using his black spirit "magic," it should startle anyone within a few feet of him. Rather than them just continuing to walk past like it was an ordinary occurrence.
I like that people are not static dummies that you would fly through in any other game and they would stay in place, but real produced models that shy away and move away from the scene of the fight, it's interesting 26:16
I can't wait to play this game it looks like it fulfills most of the cravings I have in gaming in terms of fantasy, freedom of exploration, combat etc. A few things that annoy me though are the overuse of particle effects during combat to the point of not being able to see anything on the screen. And secondly how unphased or interested the player character seems with everything happening around him. He finds a random magical artifact "What's this?" The artefact opens a portal in a wall and he walks into it without a word. He is transported him to a entirely different place and does not voice a single comment or thought about the strangeness of the magic or technology involved in something like that. A random person he literally just met tells him to jump off a floating island in the sky and with barely a second thought he just yeets himself off the edge then as he is plummeting to the ground he doesn't make a single sound then when uses the new crow wings magic power he doesn't make a single comment on the usefulness of the magic or the feeling of exhilaration he felt when skydiving. I get that they are trying to portray him as a stoic badass but like this dude just feels like a shell of a person. Like all this crazy magic shit he is seeing is so mundane its not even worth mentioning which is the exact opposite of how magic should feel. I understand its probably to late in the development process to change this but I really wish they would. It makes your character actually feel like a person with goals and motivations rather than a empty vessel for the player to control.
It looks amazing! There's just one thing that takes me out of the game, if you notice when he's walking, especially in the city on the cobblestones 11:00 , the shoes go through the ground and he's walking on his ankles, if they manage to fix that it would be great. @CrimsonDesert
You cant fix it. The cobblestone is generated with displacement that isnt taken into account in collision or IK systems. Only way would be to turn the displacement into a mesh which would defy its purpose
@@STANDBYEXP I certainly thought about that problem, but it doesn't happen only on this type of soil, throughout the video you can see it even on normal middle of the road soil.
The footsteps are loud and can be a bit distracting. Other than that I enjoy the fact that this actually looks like and seems to feel like a VIDEO GAME‼️
I never needed a demo more. I think we all do. Considering the fall from sky in the gameplay, map will be HUGE! So it'd be really good if we had a demo like Elden Ring Demo did with limiting the game within Limgrave. I want to explore and test some mechanics. This game looks ALIVE. We usually get darker art designs when it comes to the middle earth theme. But this game is way different than that and looks colourful. It looks like the movie called ''The Banshees of Inisherin''. Towns and roads are looking awesome. The models are looking awesome. I am not even exaggerating. I hope my system would be good enough to experience this ambiance in 1440p 😅😅. Keep up the great work! And lastly, I really liked HUD. Considering the complexity of the game, it looks really minimalistic and tidy. I can feel the passion in this game. It is really valuable.
2025 is going to be the best year for gaming, GTA 6, Kingcome Deliverance 2, Monster Hunt Wilds, Expédition 33, Mafia: The Old Country, now Crimson Desert
The game looks amazing. Two things that could be improved are the sprinting animations (look weird) and the sounds of his footsteps are super loud (would get annoying after time).
looks really good. the combat could do less particles but i like how enemies are tough and the number of enemy combatants are plenty. it really feels like they live there not just npc targets
What I didn’t like most were the sounds of walking, both horses and the main character (the main character makes sounds as if he were some kind of cyborg). And it’s also strange why the NPC didn’t react at all when a flying man landed next to him ((
The shadows and lighting on the characters' faces need a lot of polishing, but apart from that, the graphics look amazing. The world is very much alive.
This. Everything else about the game looks between a 7 and a high 8. But the world looks incredible. It was the reason I originally checked out Black Desert Online, and the devs have proven themselves more than capable of delivering on an amazing map.
@@hundvd_7 just hope its actually alive, not just big space with 3 generated encounters and nothing else. If its even 50% of RDR2 world setting, this would be amazing, characters are their own people and do shit without needing MC to active the encounter.
It doesn’t seem like you can actually fly anywhere until you are at certain altitude and no NPC was rendered either. If not, then this is just a really cool loading screen.
Beautiful! It seems like the game that I was waiting since Skyrim and the Witcher, but 10 times better. I do not know if developers will read this comment but, if I may give a suggestion: at 20:23 when the player descends from the sky, the NPC seems quite unbothered by this fact. I do not know if it is normal lore wise but I would expect that a civilian must at least be curios.
Please dev team, just reduce walking/running sound. Sometimes, when Kliff walks you are showing only a half body...you should show the whole person always...5:15 like some people said, he moves like he is on ice...that should be fixed, 22:26 head glitch
Here's a cool idea that I hope is implemented: We've seen in past trailers where a sword was imbued with lightning, so there's a form of elemental damage in the game. It'd be cool to see the same spark particles that emanate from the sword be transformed into the element you're using. A water imbuement would produce splash particles, or a fire imbued sword would give off flames.
pearl abyss just keeps raising the bar. the visuals are stunning , the dialogue is sharp, the combat looks incredible, and i’m so intrigued by the story so far. as a longtime BD player i’m hyped!!
here are some of the cons that i've noticed here and there : The graphics and the lightings looks a little weird at sometimes, the character animations in some of the scenes are too much which looks like almost acting and the facial expressions and animations are so stall and not good. when entering a building or a room the camera angel is weird too. the combat copy and paste from Black desert with a little bit of improvement here and there which is good, but still some aspects of the combat isn't so compelling and need some enhancements, for example the kicking and the grabbing it's almost too much and has the same issue in black desert which is desyncing and like freezing animation. other than that the game looks absolutely astonishing and beautiful and the world looks so alive and vibrant and the music is sooo good, the characters looks so good and very intersting. I hope the story is good, and there will be some character devolpement aspects here and there and I also hope to be there some kind of NPC relationship and questing system. I hope the side quest will be meaningful and tied up with main story as well. I'm sooooo excited and I cannot wait for it to be polished and get released. and a word of advice for the devs, please take all the time you need to polish the game and if you please can make facial animation and lip syncing better please do so. ❤🙏
Beautiful game and compelling world, but perhaps consider toning down the visual effects. The particles, blurring and camera shaking during combat make it hard to see whats going on
Breathtaking, this is my first time seeing a game experience like this. I love the many small and breathtakingly large and complex things about it. from the way he walks and sprints, to the phenomenal world design. A few things that I personally think would make it even better is that if the unrealistic "firework" effects from sword abilities would instead be wind effects. As a sword slices through wind as it moves, not making multicolored, blue and orange fireworks. I know it is a simulated experience, but to me these choice effects remove from the immersion. it makes sense that spark would fly striking shields and swords, but not air. Wind sounds, coupled with wind effects from sword swings i think would add immensely to an otherwise amazing and breathtaking combat design. About the crow wings, it seems to me at this time there are two fixed gliding speeds. I think flight with those wings would have been or could be more dynamic if downward speed increases momentum for further forward speed and limited upward flight. Assuming the crow wings are for gliding and not for full flight throughout the game. Excited about the story.
I really like the combat system, reminds me of an updated version of the old Ninja Gaiden & DMC games. It's a breath of fresh air, after all these Soulslike clones with their boring "dodge, parry, attack, wait for your stamina meter to refill, repeat"- combat.
I love this game already and I've been waiting for it for years now but it breaks my heart a little to wait another whole year 😭😭😭 open world games are really my favorite genres but it's clear that there are only a few in recent years that are worth it which makes me really look forward to a world like this to explore from top to bottom
considering it's a Korean company the translations to English are very good and sounds mostly natural, especially Shakatu's speech at the end had me captured and get excited for the game. but I have to say that around the 15 minute mark, Alustin's monologue sounds kind of awkward, maybe something went wrong with the Korean to English translation. but overall I'm really looking forward to the game to come out and see the fixed and final product!

I was amazed by the atmosphere, graphics and immersion back then. To feel like being a part of a living and breathing world is crucial to a RPG. Now years later Crimson Desert gives me the same vibes. I can't wait to wander around and explore the world.
They have the same music style.
Funny enough I'm pretty sure Myurdin from the beginning did VO for TW3. Sounds extremely familiar.

I totally agree with you, the camera is a little lower and it will be amazing
26:20 Very nice touch where the crowd stand back when the player or the enemy came closer, I rarely see such detail

Looks like a lot of fun. Very fast paced and detailed. Beautiful world and character models.
나는 이 쨍하고 선명한 명암표현이 너무 좋다! 흐릿한 언리얼엔진은 최악
Everything is incredible. My only criticism is the sound of the footsteps on different material. Dirt, rocks, grass, marble. It all sounds exactly the same. Id like to hear some variations in the sound of the footsteps..
I love this type of battle camera
Not very pleasant if it will be that noticeable in the final game.
yes my lord
Yeah I noticed that too, that's why his feet sometimes go through the ground when he's walking. But the effect looks really good otherwise, and is probably much more performance friendly as compared to creating actual meshes and models for cobblestones. Still I guess they can optimize it a little bit more
Yes, I noticed it when he walked or rided on the cobbled stones. I assumed it's a tesselation effect because I don't know what Parallax occlusion mapping is lol
But like you said, game looks so amazing so it dossent matter, such breathtaking vistas and castles.
I think the camera angle is a bit too high. I noticed that when entering a narrow space, it felt even higher. Bring it down a bit so that you can see the area near the character's feet.
Yeah agree it is a bit tad high
I really hope they fix this before release, or if not mods can fix it

Besides that there are some missed lip-sync and I know this is just a preview, good work on the inmersion, the lights, the visuals, the npcs.
Pretty great gameplay. I'm glad Pearl Abyss developed its own brand combat gamestyle as we could see.
I do really want to thank Pearl Abyss for realising this content and not forgetting about us who are waiting for this game for many years.
I think that, in general, the animations could use some polish. That goes for Kliff, the horses, and NPCs doing NPC stuff. Maybe in combat too. But all that's just me being nit-picky.
Love to hear Matt Berry. Hopefully he yells out "Faaatheeeeer" at some point 😂
idk, something about the obvious "these are characters made from an MMO character creator" look these guys have is charming to me. So many games now use bad motion capture models for their characters and it dives deep into the uncanny valley
Holy shit I didn't notice. They got Matthew Berry!? My excitement was already way over the top, now I'm somehow even more excited.
That lip-sync will never be fixed knowing black desert online lmao
Witcher 3 + Assassin's Creed + Dragon Dogma = Crimson Desert

Stop glazing.
+ BOTW + RDR2.

Was looking for this comment, NPC's still have a long way to go in games...
@@Ronuk1996 Fable: The Lost Chapters also has NPCs that are very reactive and feel alive. Mind-blowing how that was from 2005, too.

Genuinely looks incredible. Everyone at pearl abyss should be so bloody proud
The combat feels impactful because of the weight of the moves he performs and how the environment can sometimes get destroyed (like the wooden cart that gets destroyed during the ending boss fight)
All in all I feel like this game will bring in a new era of open world games if done correctly, i really hope they manage to create a truly immersive open world with more depth to the main character's personality and his storyline
Looks superb. Just please, please sort those footstep sound effects.

This looks amazing
Only thing I wish is the camera to be a bit lower, it looks too high specially in combat 46:18
Will probably be adjustable in the settings
there will be no lock on enemies.
The witcher game had an almost similar camera angle
I think its better that way if theres no lock on

I like that people are not static dummies that you would fly through in any other game and they would stay in place, but real produced models that shy away and move away from the scene of the fight, it's interesting 26:16

@@jamesburke9680 Why?
Wonderful immersion !!!! So so good good job team !!!! BRILLIANTISSIMO

I noticed as well, there's also a "flattening" of textures on the edges of the screen.
You cant fix it. The cobblestone is generated with displacement that isnt taken into account in collision or IK systems. Only way would be to turn the displacement into a mesh which would defy its purpose

That sword fight around 40 minutes looked awesome!
Everything looks great, looking forward to this. I just hope it's nicely optimized and runs well.
you guys can never be satisfied like a woman, it's always something😂

pearl abyss just keeps raising the bar. the visuals are stunning , the dialogue is sharp, the combat looks incredible, and i’m so intrigued by the story so far. as a longtime BD player i’m hyped!!
Alustin and him mentioning providence could be its own meme xD
I hope they have a setting to reduce the particle effect since it's to excessive
BOYYYYYYS!! The free fall scene (19min06) is just magic!!! WOW
here are some of the cons that i've noticed here and there :
The graphics and the lightings looks a little weird at sometimes, the character animations in some of the scenes are too much which looks like almost acting and the facial expressions and animations are so stall and not good. when entering a building or a room the camera angel is weird too. the combat copy and paste from Black desert with a little bit of improvement here and there which is good, but still some aspects of the combat isn't so compelling and need some enhancements, for example the kicking and the grabbing it's almost too much and has the same issue in black desert which is desyncing and like freezing animation.
other than that the game looks absolutely astonishing and beautiful and the world looks so alive and vibrant and the music is sooo good, the characters looks so good and very intersting.
The particles, blurring and camera shaking during combat make it hard to see whats going on
yes the visual effects are too much i also noticed that on the other gameplay trailers it put me off its just too much
Just turn it all off lol. No one said it’s never going to be an option.
12:23 pls fix the foot steps sound
