Keenan most likely knows that hes not gonna finish him with that but the guy he's rolling with has to pull his arm out and that stops him from attacking you so if anything your offense is your defense. Going for a kimura from bottom half, especially with the pressure and positioning Craig had is almost always going to be a poor tactical choice. You could spend that time and energy doing something more productive.

You cannot ignore the fact that Keenan is probably one of a few BJJ guys who are clean. Please don't tell me steroids don't matter in BJJ. It's like saying weight doesn't matter in BJJ. Steroids matter way more than the weight difference between two competitors.
I'd say it translates pretty well considering Keenan has won worlds in nogi and made the finals of ADCC. You can't really judge someone's style based on one short clip of them training.

Thing is, - any normal guy wont last 15 seconds against a seasoned bjj practitioner and less than 5 seconds against ppl like keenan or craig. Even most martial arts ppl wont do better. You will have about 1-4 strikes at the start that you can luckypunch win with- after that... gameover. And ye I know that sounds bossy- but just go to a bjj gym and roll 10 mins with a purple- even blue belt- you will understand...
@@PinkiesBrain I am a state champion wrestler and have rolled with many black belts. My point still stands that training bjj = training to get hammer fisted into night night time. Gary Tonon went night night and if anyone tried to grab my legs, id shoot them in the head.
