Ikrie's Challenge - Gold | Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds

- Getting gold was certainly tough. You get a trophy for completing it though. Hopefully this guide will help anyone having trouble!
Main strategy:
Use your lure to attract the machines over to Ikrie so she can use her ice to give you more damage and make the enemies easier to hit. Only use your hunter arrows for the scrappers, then only use your fire arrows for the grazers, finish off however many hunter arrows you have left on the tramplers before switching to your hardhead arrows to finish the final machines and complete the task.
General advice:
Don't waste any arrows trying to get machines attention. Just call them over with your lure.
For some reason, at least for me, Ikrie only liked to hit machines standing in the lower area with the ice next to her rock, rather than the higher more snowy area.
Try to get the grazers as close together as possible before hitting their canisters as all three of them will take damage once a canister is broken.
The Shield Weaver armour is very useful here. It enables you to get closer to machines with less risk making it easier to land good hits. Making every arrow count is important.
There is no time limit, at least not on normal, so don't feel rushed.
This quest should be available after completing "The Survivor" side mission which you can start not far from the Hunting Grounds, at a small encampment.
This took me a few tries. Scrappers - wait for them to be frozen, use hardpoint arrows to weaken, normal arrows when their health is really low. Grazers - just pop their blaze canisters with fire arrows. Tramplers - wait for frozen, use hardpoint arrows to destroy their belly furnaces and they'll burn themselves to death. That should leave plenty of ammo to kill the bellowback. Wait, there are traps to use!??

This was a bitch but after a few tries it's quite easy. I used the logs in the area to save me 10+ arrows that I accomplished this with 7 hard arrows remaining. I was surprised that I did the hunting grounds with ease. By comparison, Ikrie is more challenging due to limitations.
*1 wave* = freeze them, use a hard arrow to deplete 75% of life and a regular bow to finish it off. Each machine requires 2 bows if done right.
*2 wave* = several ways 1: one flame bow in the middle enemy and let the explosion take them out/catch on fire and they'll die. 2: one flame bow per each on their backs. 3: use the logs to crush them.
*3 wave* = blow up their stomachs. If they catch on fire, chase away from Ikrie, her freeze bombs will put their fire out undoing your hard work, once they're on fire they'll burn til they die. Another option is using the logs, it'll kill one quickly saving you 10+ bows.
*4th wave* = basically the same strategy as the 3rd.

Edit: nevermind it was at the hunting grounds in the Frozen wilds you just have to do the story sidequest The survivor and she'll be located there after you complete that Quest.
I used the falling logs in the area to take out the last trampler and the bellowback.

Well I feel stupid. I didn't realize there were arrow options...
I'm a dummy... I didn't even realize I had 3 types of ammo to play with lol
i hate having half arrows for this challenge. to me it's worse than sleight of crate challenge because at least with any others you have full use of your weapons and ammo. 🤨
Why did you use fire arrows on the Bellowback blaze cannisters too?

How do unlock this mission?
It's in the Frozen Wilds DLC. You'll meet this person on a side mission. After completing that, this challenge will appear.

@@trickshotguynoscopemaster7145 At Keener's Rock you should get a quest called The Survivor or something. After completing that Ikrie can be found at the one and only hunting ground in the Frozen Wilds DLC.

defintely, i've so far only managed to get 9/10, my last arrows were the fire ones, they're practically useless against bellowbacks
Lol I almost cried every single time. I managed to clear it with the last arrow luckily.
Ashley McInnes if you have hard point arrows you can knock off the plate in their belly then use the fire arrows to make the 3 blaze canisters explode. Don't listen to me tho I only have gotten 9/10 myself. So I'm getting frustrated
we cant use the spear in this challenge?

@@vendelamoondaughter2121 I figured out what was going on. Because I was waiting for them to be frozen too, but I was on the hardest difficulty and didn't take that into account.
And they playing on lower difficulties because you can see the health bars!

Wheres the ******* location
Frozen Wilds DLC, at the hunting ground. The hunting ground is also part of an earlier quest. You also have to do Ikries quest before getting this quest.
