The Apeks WTX Harness Dive Harness is a padded adjustable harness for your backplate and harness system. The quick-adjust and quick release shoulder straps make donning and doffing your BCD and Apeks have made the WTX Padded Harness as customisable as possible so you can attach any accessories and pockets you need.
    Who’s The WTX For?
The WTX Padded Harness is for scuba divers who dive a backplate and wing system for both single and twin cylinders. The padded harness is much more comfortable if you’re diving in just a rash vest and the adjustable straps are quick and easy to get in and out from. The harness also has multiple attachment points for pockets and pouches to make your BCD exactly how you want it.

I have been using this harness for some years now (with a WTX3 bladder). With some minor changes it works fine for single tanks (directly attached with the included tank bands) Materials and quality are top-notch (e.g. comparing to typical Mares XR hardware).
Other pros (and people might disagree):
    i) adjustment of shoulder straps: I quite like the ability to adjust (and even open) the shoulder straps easily (I know, purist will say that this introduces another weak point)
ii) comfort: even without the included padding, the harness feels good and comfortable on land, in the water and on the water
iii) easy attachment of single tanks (no adapters required)
My (personal) big cons, particularly after having gotten into a bit more technical diving):
    i) chest D-rings: far (!) too high up the shoulders to fix anything, let along fix a stage (and you cannot lower them much or fix D-rings elsewhere
ii) adjustability: it may look like you can move things around, but don't kid yourself... many bands are stiched to the harness or have things permanently fixed at the end, i.e. you cannot remove the webbing without cutting something off
iii) too much stuff nobody needs: I have not counted, but there is probably something like 12 D-rings on the harness (incl. the smaller ones on the sides, supposedly for an argon tank and the battery for the light)
Do I regrett getting this harness? No, it works reasonably well for what I am doing. Would I get it again? No; these days it seems to me that you are much better off with a regular backplate (or the lightweight travel backplatte which did not exist when I bought the Harness) and webbing (adding buckles, D-rings and adjustability as you like, beyond the usual minimalistic setup)

I was looking at this harness, but decided to just go with the backplate and webbing in the end. This harness isn't future proof if you plan to go into TEC diving. Bonus benefit is that the webbing harness is a lot cheaper as well.

Can you mount a single tank directly to the harness or do you need a backplate

Can't see anyone using this for twins; not nearly enough rigidity to keep 30 kilos of gear stable on your back. I see this more aimed at the light-weight travel market for those who aren't quite ready for the simplicity of a proper backplate and wing. I also can't see how those shoulder velcro bits with the reflectors on would ever go round the inflator. I do like that it comes ready for the Apeks weight pouches if that's how you like your ballast.

I happily use this harness for manifolded T12s (Long euros) and Ali 80 stage cylinders. In my experience, I have never personally had an issue with the rigidity aspect BUT I do use the WTX Steel back plate in the slot as shown @8:17 as is advised to, But yes as you have mentioned, I do not use the LH reflective tape for the LP inflator as it does not allow for the full range of motion that is required but they indeed do wrap around an inflator hose.
I also use the WTX weight pouches for jettisonable weight as the crotch strap would interfere with a weight belt in an emergency situation.
      I'm UK based for context.

@@watsonmatt2 I had a feeling you'd need a metal backplate as well for twins.

Maybe I see this from a wrong perspective, but for me, this harness invalidates every positive point of a backplate system.
All that sewed webbing, different sizes again, if something breaks, you have to throw out the whole thing.
I think I'll go with the xDeep Nx

i agree with you. but from another perspective. say you're very unsure about the typical one piece webbing, but you've tried a scubapro hydros pro and really liked it. but you want some modularity. this is a nice middle ground, with the option of moving onto a typical one piece harness in the future, as you can put a backplate in the WTX harness, plus it also allows you to add any wing you want.
