Any preference on vintage style single coil pickup heights? I know it's subjective but I've seen most pickups on pre-cbs strats being almost flush to the pickguard while Fender's official recommendation for single coils puts them much higher
My view is that vintage pickups sound better a reasonable distance - way more than Fender recommends. The key to it all is getting the balance of bass and treble heights correct. This is not to balance the volume, but theres a sweet spot within an 1/8 of a turn where the harmonics jump out, especially noticeable when playing around the 10th and 12th fret on the middle two strings.
incredible show mate , thank you
Thanks bro
I love your Sunbrest Sartocaster with a maple neck

Many thanks!
Really enjoyed your video 👍🏻
How do you set-up your tremolo? Floating or flush with the body?
Pleasure! I set it so its flush with the body so no upward motion.
