Great video Brian! I never really session sections because I hate stopping the flow and hike a bike back up, I love finding trails that we can shuttle and session over and over get all the DH without the climbs. One of my favorite quotes; "I fear not the man who practiced 10,000 kicks once, I fear the man who practiced one kick 10,000 times" -Bruce Lee
I'm sure most of us are in the same boat, but the trails closest to me are the trails I ride 80% of the time. If I don't clean something, I always think "I'll get it next time". And while that works out sometimes, other times it doesn't and those features become your nemeses. The ones you never get or are too afraid to try. Gotta just suck it up and session those until you get them!
nice thing where I live is I can ride the trails over and over again, so where I live accessioning whole trail at once is easier than some other places like on a mountain, but I don't mind going up and trying again, I have done it a lot on technical climbs and descents, but I do it less on decent these days, I got pretty good at reading the lines, and ride differently if I need to, mostly on tricky climbs, but I know my bike is holding me back, need longer wheelbase, I have to be very precise and shift my body perfectly which can be tricky.
As an older (68 yr old) guy new to mountain biking I also really liked this type of video. Shredding will never be in my vocabulary but better navigating these types of sections which we have in Colorado is a goal. Thanks!
Very nicely done, very enjoyable to watch. For years I had the same attitude, obstacles I didn't make I just left behind, now I find myself stepping back and giving it one, two or more tries, can be very satisfying to get those small wins.
Different experience. I ride both quite well. I can ride the nasties w clips and feel more connected to the bike. Espeically on steep techy ascents, its a different pedal stroke. flats are easier to bail out of when the going gets tough.
Dude! This was an awesome format and so well edited..... the ghosting to compare lines was professional as hell. Oh yea, your riding is dramatically improved... not even close. This was awesome!
I have been a fan of the channel for over a year, just had to write to say this is one of your best yet! Sessioning is really the best way to boost your skills! Great edit, thanks for doing what you do!
Brian great video, it reminds me of your earlier stuff. It looks like in a lot of those sections if you come in with more commitment it will actually make it easier on yourself. I know it's easier said than done. I need to fly there and give it a crack.
I Really enjoyed watching this one, it's always good to session stuff, it's the best way to learn which lines to take which you can carry forward into similar future trails, great vid.
Sessioning is rad. Really makes you figure out how to connect different parts of the trail together. One thing that helps a lot as you get faster is jumping obstacles. Once you land, jump the next thing because the energy is going to off the suspension, so you might as well use it.
I like this kind of video. It covers a lot of the parts of mountain biking that you need to constantly think about when you are out doing this yourself. the other thing I like about this kind of format is that we get to see you riding. It is helpful to see how you attack obstacles and your position on the bike.
This makes me want to get out and go session some stuff. Thanks for the inspiration and explanation of line choices! Good knowledge to have next time I go out
Maybe it's just from the camera angle, but at 3:52 there seems to be a very definite inside line. It involves gapping those roots but that looks like it would set you up for that next bit with more speed and a straighter line.
Love how you are always trying new things, i.e. Call-in livestream, session videos, etc. instead of just resting on your laurels and doing what has always worked for you. Why you have my sole support on Patreon Brian. Enjoyed this format btw. Rockville looks completely different all lush and green (especially the latest Patreon vid with your brother's new Canyon); reminds me of your Spain videos in a way.
I was just in Rockville last Saturday and it was my first time there...I walk most of those crazy lines...but looking forward to go back and ride all those lines...
Awesome video Brian! Loved seeing you do some sessions, and it is definitely inspiring me to do the same. You're an animal! Just got to wait for the snow to clear out!
Love the 3rd person POV! Really cool to see your improvement as well, I wish I knew Rockville well. Every time I go I struggle to find the good stuff. Great video 👍🏽
Hi Bro! As always high quality video, I mean the content, the scenery, the detail on explanation everything... And as a biker you getting better and better, good job man!!!!
Great video! I liked that you show the viewer the different lines options that most trails will typically have. I think that could open peoples minds that the obivious straight line approch down a trail isn't always the fastest or the most fun.
Hi Brian probably one of your first instructional videos I think it's fantastic to see you tackling different lines. Probably one of the most technical things about mountain biking heading into rock gardens knowing if you stuff it up it's going to hurt.
great video. One of your best in my opinion. it's nice to be able to see the trail features. You can actually see how tough that off camber section is. off camber switchbacks are quite the task as well
That was awesome! I can totally relate to crazy-gnarly-chunk looking flat or easy on camera 😂🤦 here in Grand Junction, CO... Rockville looks like my kinda riding 🤘👍
I want more of that 3rd person stuff! I know It's more work but it makes your videos look so much more professional. It defintetely suits you! Cheers, shred on!
Great vid man. Love the Rockville vids cuz rockvilles my local. Loved watching u ride all of my favorite trails, although I didn't discover cave until just last Sunday and I have to admit I got stuck on the stairs. Ill have to go back this weekend and try them again
Excelente Bryan. You are an awesome ambassador of the sport but mostly for me your a great inspiration on not just dreaming but pursuing your dream and work your way thru enjoying every step. Not every rider is a jumper, and not all at the same level of risk willingness but the epicness of your adventures and your unique style of sharing it is what makes it special. Keep doing it and enjoying what you love, the rest are just personal opinions and one can never please everybody.
i felt like i was trying to figure out the lines from over here in my office... haha. awesome video brian. thanks for posting so early, gets my day going!!
Rockville truly is an amazing riding spot. I am lucky enough to live close and am able to ride here on a regular basis. So many technical skills to be learned at Rockville that really come in handy while riding other destinations. Usually when I ride here I look at my Strava when I’m finished and think, that’s all I rode for distance and elevation? This place is grueling on the ups and downs! And nice riding, it’s always cool to see the progression when you session something.
Brain that it the first video about lines and gnarly stuff that I could feel the fear. I could all most feel what you was feeling doing thoughts features. Thanks!
Yeah, enjoyed this one. Remember watching four people session an uphill section on singletracksampler, halarious watching the frustration. Fun watching an near impossible climb. We have a few were I ride in Castlemain, Australia.
Hell yeah dude, I’ve been doing this at the top of green valley trail, and on the rock garden trail. Makes for great practice👍🏻 I love Rockville. And you are absolutely right; I am still learning my way around, it was a real pain in the ass in the beginning. There’s a couple spots I still haven’t ridden yet.
Really loving these third person shot videos! I know its quite a bit more work, but its great to see the entire bike and the technical sections getting handled
Dirt stairs with wooden slats holding the front of the step tend to get the dirt hollowed out of them, this makes them a bit of a nightmare if there's more than a few of them... Great video, it would be interesting to see your line choice on some more difficult sections of other trails.
1:42 Looks like you're about to flip over the bars any moment here. A while ago, after a tree root infested descend in the Alps I had to have my chin stitched after of a situation similar to this. Just like you, little momentum added with just a bit too much front breaking and maybe not keeping the ass low enough. Greedy doctor charged me 370 euros for just three stitches. So that was my price for learning to keep at least some momentum and use the front break very gently in places like that. Later that day my mate learned the same lesson. Luckily minor injuries and no damage to the bikes. That said, please do keep riding and making videos, I enjoy them a lot. You're channel's an great inspiration for mountainbikers all over the globe. It certainly is for me.
That was a really cool video, really enjoyed the mix from the garage videos to the riding videos to this! I would think this type of video will get a great response from the crowd if others agree please try to do some more of these!
Dude, I just rode Rockville on Saturday and that first couple features still kicks my ass even after I've learned the lines. The rocks don't like to cooperate. Guess I have to do my own session sometime!
Nice Work Brian! Loving the variation in your video styles. also noticed the Dakine Tube guard. That should stop anymore of those pesky front shock strikes!
Awesome dude. I loved this different take on an mtb ride. I am also one that doesn't session obstacles, despite coming from a Bmx skatepark background where you would session the same jump/ledge for hours. Thanks again and I can't wait for the next one. 👍
I really enjoyed this vid Brian, I won’t be disappointed if you do more in this style. I wish I had more rocks where I live so I could practice more, but you are looking super slick bruv. 👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah, Rockville is kinda challenging to decipher. I used to think the toughest trail system to get familiarized was Skeggs Point. Thanks for posting this video, man. Might give this place a go again in the near future.

Loved this type of video Brian!! 😀
Tomi Saaranen yeah same
Thanks Tomi!!
Really dig this type of video Brian sessioning fits you !!!
Thanks Matt, I appreciate it dude!
As an older (68 yr old) guy new to mountain biking I also really liked this type of video. Shredding will never be in my vocabulary but better navigating these types of sections which we have in Colorado is a goal. Thanks!
Fantastic, LOVE hearing that!
This was fun! Remember your coaching video where he told you about heels down? ...... yeah that :)
Haha, I was thinking about it (just not doing it)!!
these different type of videos are always a treat. 👍
Thanks bud!
I've loved seeing your progression on the bike over the last year and half since I've been watching keep it up!
Thanks Dale, glad to hear that!
Always something New on your channel, love that. Never gets boring watching your Videos.
Fantastic, thanks!
Wow Brian, a huge step in your shredding evolution. Congratulations on making this decision, not only for yourself but your viewers as well.
Very nicely done, very enjoyable to watch. For years I had the same attitude, obstacles I didn't make I just left behind, now I find myself stepping back and giving it one, two or more tries, can be very satisfying to get those small wins.
Nice!! Glad to hear it
Brian try riding flats. Just give it a go would be good to see how you get on with them.
It'd be pretty interesting to see!
so why dont you try em after ppl advised flat pedals numerous times?
Why would I want to ride flats instead of clipless? I’m also curious, what’s your experience.? Thanks.
Different experience. I ride both quite well. I can ride the nasties w clips and feel more connected to the bike. Espeically on steep techy ascents, its a different pedal stroke. flats are easier to bail out of when the going gets tough.
I suppose I knew this but never thought about it until now but what I love about you is your enthusiasm. Thanks
Wow, glad to hear it!!
Dude! This was an awesome format and so well edited..... the ghosting to compare lines was professional as hell. Oh yea, your riding is dramatically improved... not even close. This was awesome!
Thanks so much Coach, glad to hear that!
I have been a fan of the channel for over a year, just had to write to say this is one of your best yet! Sessioning is really the best way to boost your skills! Great edit, thanks for doing what you do!
Thanks a ton Tom!!
Fantastic edit Brian.! Mixing it up and showing a technical side of things. Keep up the great work. I always look forward to the next one....
Sweet, glad you liked it!
Brian great video, it reminds me of your earlier stuff. It looks like in a lot of those sections if you come in with more commitment it will actually make it easier on yourself. I know it's easier said than done. I need to fly there and give it a crack.
Thanks dude!! I'd love to see you take this stuff on.
I Really enjoyed watching this one, it's always good to session stuff, it's the best way to learn which lines to take which you can carry forward into similar future trails, great vid.
Yep, I'm really glad I did this, now I've got those lines in my memory bank!
Really liked how you walked through each section and talked about the lines and some of the history of hitting those lines in the past. Fun video.
Fantastic, thanks Jim!
Sessioning is rad. Really makes you figure out how to connect different parts of the trail together. One thing that helps a lot as you get faster is jumping obstacles. Once you land, jump the next thing because the energy is going to off the suspension, so you might as well use it.
YES, definitely something I need to piece together
you are very authentic and it keeps the video interesting. Your videos are very relatable. Keep up the good work
Thanks Kirk!
Great sessioning video Brian! I love that fact you showed different lines and your progression! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Steven!
Lovin' all your videos Brian, you're making me a better & more confident rider!
That's great to hear man!
LOVE this type of video BK and its been hella fun watching you progress over the last few seasons...keep it up!
Thanks so much man!
Another great Vid Brian. Love tackling Rock Gardens, really puts us to test.
Thanks so much Mark!
This was awesome! I like the progressive style riding. Hitting features and sessioning them, and improving the lines. Thanks for that.
Glad you dug it dude!
Great video! Would love to see you session on some flow trails to gain confidence on jumps.
Yes, I like that idea!
Great video! I would love to have features like these out here in the Southeast, we are full of roots out here.
That'd be sweet!
Great Video and I like the newish LID. Always super Fun to have the time to hit a good session up!!! LIVE-LIFE-LOUD!!!🤙🏽
Thanks so much dude!
I like this kind of video. It covers a lot of the parts of mountain biking that you need to constantly think about when you are out doing this yourself. the other thing I like about this kind of format is that we get to see you riding. It is helpful to see how you attack obstacles and your position on the bike.
Awesome, glad to hear that Justin!
You are awesome! Can’t wait to see what you, Alex and Seth come up with this summer.
Me too Josh!!
This makes me want to get out and go session some stuff. Thanks for the inspiration and explanation of line choices! Good knowledge to have next time I go out
Do it!! Glad you enjoyed it
Rockville is a pretty fitting name haha! Loved this video and I loved seeing your progression! It's very inspiring
Super rocky!! Thanks Dorothy
you kept your promises which always trying to get better. thx dude! follow you all the time!
Thanks a ton Luke!
Maybe it's just from the camera angle, but at 3:52 there seems to be a very definite inside line. It involves gapping those roots but that looks like it would set you up for that next bit with more speed and a straighter line.
Definitely a solid line right there!
Thanks so much man, gotta keep trying to grow!!
This is an excellent video, both in the content and the editing. The ghost images were really cool!
PS. the bike looks awesome.
Thanks so much Bill!!
I was just in Rockville last Saturday and it was my first time there...I walk most of those crazy lines...but looking forward to go back and ride all those lines...
Hell yeah, one step at a time!
Looks nice, dry and sunny. All I have is a mix of ice, snow rain, mud and misery. Can't wait for spring.
One day at a time, it's coming!
Awesome video Brian! Loved seeing you do some sessions, and it is definitely inspiring me to do the same. You're an animal! Just got to wait for the snow to clear out!
Fantastic!! Thanks Phillip
Love the 3rd person POV! Really cool to see your improvement as well, I wish I knew Rockville well. Every time I go I struggle to find the good stuff. Great video 👍🏽
Thanks Alex! It's a tough little place to put together a good ride!
Hi Bro! As always high quality video, I mean the content, the scenery, the detail on explanation everything... And as a biker you getting better and better, good job man!!!!
Thanks a ton man!!

So glad to hear that!
I watched this video before I started riding rockville. Watching it again after seeing these spots is way cooler!
Beautiful place to work on ur skills! I really enjoyed this video and would like to see more.
Thanks Adam!
As always, great video. I have a computer in my bike shop so I can watch your videos while I’m working on my bike. It’s always a dose of inspiration!
Oh that's awesome!!
fantastic video, a change of pace from the usual video style, really cool, its nice to see you practicing different lines on one section of the trail.
Glad to hear that Ruben!
That was sick in a mellow and informative way. Nice vid Brian!!
Glad to hear it!
Hi Brian probably one of your first instructional videos I think it's fantastic to see you tackling different lines. Probably one of the most technical things about mountain biking heading into rock gardens knowing if you stuff it up it's going to hurt.
The fear factor is real!
Big props to you for doing the back and forth just for the a video. 👍🏽 love the rides!
Thanks man!
Thanks for doing this. I bet you feel improved already. Sessioning is so fun
Definitely!!
Excellent video Brian, really enjoyed it. The session is a much valued tool :)
Thanks Phil!!
Man that's awesome! I think your skills have really improved since I started following your vids a year or so ago. Love these "sessions" too!
Thanks John!
Really enjoy this content Brian really highlights the value of sessioning now just want to get out and try it
I am glad you made a session video for us. Those trails look fun. Nice and tech downhill. Keep at it man.
Thanks dude!
I really like this type of video Brian. Shows progression pretty cool
Thanks Brady!
I love your bike 😍
😁👍
great video. One of your best in my opinion. it's nice to be able to see the trail features. You can actually see how tough that off camber section is. off camber switchbacks are quite the task as well
Thanks Thomas!
That was awesome! I can totally relate to crazy-gnarly-chunk looking flat or easy on camera 😂🤦 here in Grand Junction, CO...
Rockville looks like my kinda riding 🤘👍
Hahaha, it kinda took the wind out of my sails when I got back home and looked at the footage!
BKXC - I'm just thinking about all the back-and-forth to set and retrieve the camera 😂
Haven't had the courage to hit the Stairs at Cave Trail lol Let's see if I can hit them next time. Gotta check out Cascade, haven't even seen it yet.
Haha you've got a couple fun ones to go try!
Thanks for the trails Brian. I didn't know that place was there. Next time I'm thinking Annadel maybe I'll head over there instead.
Yeah dude, give it a try!
I want more of that 3rd person stuff! I know It's more work but it makes your videos look so much more professional. It defintetely suits you! Cheers, shred on!
Thanks man!!
Great vid man. Love the Rockville vids cuz rockvilles my local. Loved watching u ride all of my favorite trails, although I didn't discover cave until just last Sunday and I have to admit I got stuck on the stairs. Ill have to go back this weekend and try them again
Dude, that stuff is SILLY!! Give it a couple more tries!
BKXC haha I will
Excelente Bryan. You are an awesome ambassador of the sport but mostly for me your a great inspiration on not just dreaming but pursuing your dream and work your way thru enjoying every step. Thanks so much man, I SERIOUSLY appreciate that!
i felt like i was trying to figure out the lines from over here in my office... haha. awesome video brian. thanks for posting so early, gets my day going!!
Hahah love it dude!!
Yes, sessioning things is how you get dope skills. This was fun to watch.
Thanks man!!
Definitely more of these! I know how time consuming they are to make lol
Nice, glad to get your endorsement!
You are the hardest working UA-camr there is. I love this kind of videos. Great video brain
Thanks Clay, I appreciate that!
Love watching you ride brian you are always improving on the bike and its great to see, keep it up man
Thanks so much Dick!
Rockville truly is an amazing riding spot. I am lucky enough to live close and am able to ride here on a regular basis. So many technical skills to be learned at Rockville that really come in handy while riding other destinations. And nice riding, it’s always cool to see the progression when you session something.
Hahaha YES, it's always a lot less mileage in that place!
Good job on this, would like to see more like it. Have not ridden Rockville yet, but will check this video out again before I do
Get out there!! It's great
Really really liked this video Brian! Hope to see more like this!
Awesome dude, love hearing that!
I find it very helpful when preparing for a race to session sections that trouble me, to get it in my head how to hit it on race day.
Always good to get eyes AND wheels on them!
Brain that it the first video about lines and gnarly stuff that I could feel the fear. I could all most feel what you was feeling doing thoughts features. Thanks!
That's awesome! Thanks Stuart
Yeah, enjoyed this one. Remember watching four people session an uphill section on singletracksampler, halarious watching the frustration. Fun watching an near impossible climb. We have a few were I ride in Castlemain, Australia.
Haha yep!!
This the best type of video! I know is very hard for you récord this type of video too! Thanks a lot!
Thanks Manuel!
Fantastic!
Love it. Not as scenic as Spain, but still one of my favorites. I need to go try Rockville soon
Definitely hit it up!
Really loving these third person shot videos! I know its quite a bit more work, but its great to see the entire bike and the technical sections getting handled
Glad you dug it!
#5,#6, are beyond me right now. Well done. I get dizzy just looking down Cascade.
It's really quite ridiculous. You'll get there!
Dirt stairs with wooden slats holding the front of the step tend to get the dirt hollowed out of them, this makes them a bit of a nightmare if there's more than a few of them... Great video, it would be interesting to see your line choice on some more difficult sections of other trails.
Thanks dude, it'd be cool to try this again somewhere else!
Next up....
Getting over your fear of jumps!! I’m excited to see that!!
I'm getting there!
Great job on the video. I'm in Norcal. I'll have to put Rockville on the to-do list.
Definitely gotta get there!
Thanks dude, I'm so glad to hear that you're digging the videos!!
Great riding, you have made a tremendous improvement. Much smoooother....
Thanks Jon!
One of your best videos! Great topic. Thanks!
Love hearing that!
That was a really cool video, really enjoyed the mix from the garage videos to the riding videos to this! I would think this type of video will get a great response from the crowd if others agree please try to do some more of these!
Thanks man!!
Dude, I just rode Rockville on Saturday and that first couple features still kicks my ass even after I've learned the lines. The rocks don't like to cooperate. Guess I have to do my own session sometime!
Yeah man, it's so janky!!
Momentum and speed will almost always smooth stuff out! It'd be sweet to come ride out there with ya sometime.
No doubt about it! I'd love to see you guys tackle this stuff!
Nice Work Brian! Loving the variation in your video styles. also noticed the Dakine Tube guard. That should stop anymore of those pesky front shock strikes!
Yeah, I thought that was just a decal not a protector!
Thanks for the great video you have inspired me to pick up mountain biking at the age of elleven I can say it's my biggest hobby
That's great to hear Liam, you'll be better than me pretty quickly!
I swear I've seen you blitz stuff like this at about 80mph. Seriously, I really liked it. I can relate and maybe see myself doing stuff like this.
Haha, nope this stuff is way steeper and harder than most of the stuff in my videos!
Awesome dude. I loved this different take on an mtb ride. I am also one that doesn't session obstacles, despite coming from a Bmx skatepark background where you would session the same jump/ledge for hours. Thanks again and I can't wait for the next one. 👍
Awesome, thanks man!
Great Video. As always looking forward to your next one.
Thanks Jamie!
Nice, really liking the variety of your videos! I ride a hardtail so I session a ton - gotta get intimate with those lines!
Thanks man, glad to hear that!
I really enjoyed this vid Brian, I won’t be disappointed if you do more in this style. I wish I had more rocks where I live so I could practice more, but you are looking super slick bruv. 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice, glad to hear that Jon!
Great video Brian 👍 If I get something wrong on a ride I have to go do it again it annoys me if I don’t. Liked this video hope to see a few more 👍👍👍
That's a great way to get better!
Great to see you and your riding technique rather than pov, although they're great too. Solid session and I liked the overlays of your runs.
Glad to hear that!
Yeah, Rockville is kinda challenging to decipher. I used to think the toughest trail system to get familiarized was Skeggs Point.
Thanks for posting this video, man. Might give this place a go again in the near future.
I hope you do!
Yeah, definitely one of my favorites. I guess the Rallon really shines with its travel and head tube angle.
Nice, glad to hear it!
You’re the man!!! Great video as always!
Thanks so much Joseph!
