An amazingly personal, yet perfectly orthodox expression of the Great Faith given to us: Apostolic Primacy, holiness, participatory suffering, Eucharist. "Only the Living Water speaks within me, saying, 'Hasten to the Father'...I want the Bread of God which is the Flesh of Christ...."
Thank you for this one too! 😂 I am planning on listening to Way of the Fathers and then listening to the writings by the father covered by Mike Aquilina, and then move on to the next episode of WotF. Thank you guys again!
You're welcome! Your listening plan is exactly how we hoped people would combine the two series, though I don't know how many have. We will have all the Apostolic Fathers done by the end of this year (just Barnabas and Hermas remaining).
God had enough blood shed when His Son died in our place...He does NOT desire to see human beings devoured by animals ever. God is entirely satisfied by His Son's Work. What evil men do to increase pain in others ONLY pleases Satan.
Of course God does not desire to see people suffering it for its own sake. However He did say we must pick up our cross to follow Him. Imitation of Christ means imitating His death, even if in an unbloody way for most of us. St. Paul speaks of "filling up what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ" - because we are members of His Body. Martyrdom is considered a glorious crown and the best way of showing our love for God, and so St. Ignatius was eager to give his life for Christ.
I dont think the source of evil is in question here, obviously by the words of the martyr himsellf. He reveals the "prince of this world" is the culprit. Sometimes it is the sovereign will of God to allow the devil to inflict suffering that we may bring glory to Christ. @bluevireo425
As an Orthodox Christian, these writings are so valuable to me, I thank you for making them, and so well produced

@@CatholicCulturePod I’m doing the same. It’s part of my Lenten spiritual practice. 2024.
0:58 Already refutes literally any doubt of Papal Primacy .
Also , love the term "The Country of the Romans" .

Wow…
Christians were built different back then.
UA-cam thinks its funny. There was enough room to finish the word Culture in the title of the Video. Instead they left it as "Cult..."
Technically true, in the neutral sense of the word!

@@CatholicCulturePod Thank you, I understand.
Whosoever denies his own Cross , he is not of Christ .
@@oolooo My comment had nothing whatsoever to do with denying affliction....It has to do with understanding the source of evil.
