It's sad how prone to health issues hamsters are. Many of the dwarf hamsters I have had also developed tumors or illnesses as they got older. Even if little Mooncake won't be in videos anymore, we still love him very much and wish him a nice retirement ❤ And Meatball is so fat and tubby, it's adorable. Welcome little round friend
same here, cancers are so prevalent - i feel like in dwarves especially taking my own experiences of over 20yrs hamster ownership. she has nothing to feel guilty about.
My previous dwarf died at age 2yr and 8 months which is very old for a siberian dwarf hamster, she had a tumor in the last month but died probably of a stroke since one eye was open and one closed when i found her passed away. It was discovered by coincidence at the vet for since she at age 2yr and 7 months got long paw nails. It was a natural death 😢 of old age ❤

Sad to hear about Mooncake, They do break your heart, a girlfriend bought me my 1st hamster when I was 32. I would never have thought a grown man could get so attached to a wee ball of fluff, but I bawled my eyes out when that hamster, Tommy died 2 years later. I kept more after him but eventually stopped keeping them as I couldn't handle having my heart broken every 2 years or so. ☹️

My syrian literally recently developed a lump on his tail but i was told it should be operable without any huge risks as we're getting ready for it. I feel your pain and fear for dear mooncake, i really wish him the best.
As a person who used to have 2 hamsters, it’s very sad to see them getting old and having illnesses or injuries on themselves. The only thing you can do is try your best to take care of him and give him a peaceful retirement.
please try alternative methods such as the Turkey tail mushroom, curcumin 95 and organic cold pressed virgin coconut oil. My late girl hamster had a growth in her uterus and I used the formula on her and her lipoma went down.
About 4 or 5 years ago I had a hamster, Yiyo was his name, we loved him, he lived with us for 2 years after being rescued from the street and when we saw a lump in his mouth we knew that we would soon say goodbye. Hurts. But life is like that. You have to enjoy their company and make them enjoy life.

She felt bad for having to choose only one n she didnt want them to be lonely so she ended up buying them both. She assumed they would continue to be fine together in the cage at home since they were already co-habitating. Unfortunately, when we went to check in on them one morning we found that they had EATEN each other 😮. (And no it wasnt bc they were starved or neglected. It was the FIRST week she had them. They were in a large expensive cage n they were well fed n cared for) It was SO awful n traumatizing. After the shock, grief n guilt subsided, she got a hairless dwarf hamster a few months later. Her name was Pinky Pie aka Pink. It was her little baby, she carried her in her shirt pocket lol. She lived a good long while!
