Thank you very much. Please, I have a question. I graduated as a student in Scotland and I didn't pay tax as a student. Now, I want to set up my monetization payment information for Facebook, what should I put as my TIN number??? I need your answer please
Thank you for your comment, Maudline. If you have a limited company, your TIN number will be the unique taxpayer reference number sent by HMRC within 2 weeks of your company's formation. You can request a copy of the number using the following link - www.gov.uk/find-utr-number. Alternatively, if you have not set up a company, you may be able to use your National Insurance Number (NINo). You'll be able to find your NINo here - www.gov.uk/find-national-insurance-number.
Thanks for your video and information. Can you inform TIN for indivduals please? Is it safe to give UK TIN number - the Unique Taxpayer Reference (the UTR) and the National Insurance Number (NI number) to overseas bank?. Indian banks are asking for it too. Please advise. Thanks.
@@1stformationsthanks for responding. I understand what you are saying. Indian banks will always ask for information. As this is a fairly new term, and it's used locally in the UK, I need to find out if it's safe to give my number to them in India. Maybe I should ask HMRC. Personally, I think it must be okay to give it to them as it's done for any businesses abroad.
Hi! The identity number for Facebook is different to your company's tax number. You may find this article useful for facebook - facebook.com/business/help/2534657046763437. Please let us know if you have any further questions!
Thank you for your comment, Maudline. The UK does not issue anything officially known as a ‘Tax Identification Number’. It’s more of a generic, umbrella term for various types of identification numbers and references relating to personal and business taxation. In the UK, these include: 1. Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) 2. National Insurance Number (NINo) 3. Company registration number (CRN) 4. VAT registration number 5. Employer PAYE reference
Great question, Oliver! You will receive a Unique TAX Reference code within 2-3 weeks after your company is registered. This is a standard procedure from HMRC, and this will be sent to the company’s Registered office address. If you have lost this letter, then you can request a copy here - www.tax.service.gov.uk/ask-for-copy-of-your-corporation-tax-utr.

Yes, in the UK a limited company has its own unique taxpayer reference number. This is sent by HMRC once the company has been formed.
