I must say I was very intimidated by Access 2016, avoided it every way I could. Then I started a new job and the first thing they wanted me to do is to develop a Database... EWK!!!! So the first tutorial I came across was yours. Let me say sir, in two days I have created a Table, a Form, a Query, and a report. Very basic stuff, but it will get me on my way. Thank you so much for your wonderful video!!!
Rijena Jackson what was the position you were filling. May I know? I am in system administration and I am contemplating learning Access. I just want to know if this would be useful in the future.
You want an honest opinion? Your tutorial was wonderful. I learned so much. I thought I would never get to understand Access. It was one hour 11 mins and 31 second well spent on my weekend. Thank you again.
I've watched several Access videos and this one is the best I've found so far. He gives the most important information and is brief. Some videos are too brief, missing important points. Some are too long and most of us with work and life don't have hours to spend to get the information we need! Very easy to follow and understand!
First of all i started as a complete beginner but once i got a project work with MS Access to create a database to do it. Thank you for helping me you kind of saved my life. Also you deserve more subscribers for your Excellent explanation skill!
Thank you!!! My team needed to do a fairly detailed database of their products and photos for a client in a very short time. Though we are extremely proficient in in web and graphic design, we have never had a client throw a database project at us for use by sales people. It's not complex as databases go but complex for us. It is intricate and the visuals are important as there are lots of photos of products. We didn't know where to start on this and somebody said "let's use MS Access" and quickly realized that MS Access was indeed perfect for what the client required. Years ago I had Filemaker Pro experience but literally have never touched Access. This tutorial got us up to speed super quickly and we are now moving quickly towards completion of the project. Everything we saw here worked great in the current MS Access we have through Office 365 so all the info is up to date. This is a fantastic tutorial delivered in a very logical way that gave us the foundational knowledge we needed. I thank you very much for putting it together. :-)
I'm only 8 minutes in and I already understand Access a little better and am not feeling so intimidated. The online MS Office course I'm taking is all text based, but sometimes you just need a video. Thank you for all your hard work and for sharing this with the world!
I have a very limited knowledge of using queries to get a table, where I just leaned by playing around, but I don’t have a solid understanding and logic behind it. After just first 5 minutes introduction, i already understand the concept and the flow, and added missing pieces to my Access “puzzle”. This tutorial is very clean, and step by step to teach you Access just in an hour. And off course, you will need more hands on practice to grow the skill. Thank Sali for the great teaching.
Hi Sali, I complained earlier about the poor resolution of your videos, but NOW found out what the problem was- it was the 'Quality ' setting in the settings option found at the bottom of the UA-cam.com video. The Solution: just change the quality setting to 480 or 720HD , and now it's perfect !!!! Thank you for these great videos, a big help for me. Looking forward to seeing Part 2 ....tx.
I fall in love of the video before I even finishing it. This is by far the most intuitive and easy to follow video I could find, thank you Sali for presenting it from the audience's view and step by step leading us from very basic to advance levels.
Wow, I hadn't messed around with access since college and had to relearn it for a new job, just amazing. I learned more in an hour and a half than I did in an entire semester, it really is all about the teacher. Amazing work. thank you so much, cant wait to go over part 2 and learn more
Thanks for the Video! I am a programming major with zero Access experience. I recently got a position at a company and Access is a must! You really helped me understand the fundamentals! Thanks!
Unbelievably helpful. I was in the process of completing a 6 hour course via LinkedIn. Your clear, succinct instruction saved me time and frustration. Thank you.
Great Video! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Lantslay Bigger Man Domination (probably on Google)? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my friend Sam Got rid of the small penis problem with it.
Excellent demonstration of Microsoft Access 2016. Clear explanation right from the basics to advance features of Access Database design. Thank you sir!
Thank you Mr. Kaceli for your thorough yet simple to follow tutorial. You are an awesome teacher. Thank you for sharing. Never used Access and find myself having to get a quick handle on it as I go back out in to the work place. You have given me the confidence I needed, by making what I thought was going to be a mind boggling experience into a easy to understand one. Thank you so very much. Shalom
1. Very helpful video. Access has been scaring me too but I really need it and this video clarified a lot. 2. I can't believe I sat through a 3 minute UA-cam ad but the song for the Suse thing is a *jam*!
This Tutorial, Mrs Kaceli, is awesome! I was struggling to learn how to use it, did not understand the concepts, or even the steps. Many thanks for sharing it. You are great.
It's obvious that you've made a hard work while preparing this useful and informative video, to present it to us on youtube for free.. Thank you so much.
great great tutorial! THank you! It is so nice to see that you also shortened parts of videos to save the time of viewers. It is a pleasure to watch the video. Thank you Sali
This has been by far the best tutorial, I've taken a class as well as tried to follow a book. I made much more sense of it by watching these vids. Thank you so much for sharing, this gave me a good foundation!!!
Mr. Kaceli is an absolute star...:)) Thank you very much for your excellent tutorials. Free tutorials that would elsewhere cost a fortune. I really like your pace of explaining the matter.
This was perfect! I am looking for a new job and I have a test on Access in two days. I took a class four years ago and have never used Access. As a matter of fact, I had totally forgotten about this very cool program. Though longer than I anticipated, Mr. Kaceli's video was exactly what I needed to remind me. It was a great reminder and I know that I will do well on my test.
At 53:42, I could not choose the import Excel button since it was not part of the default toolbar. I had to choose New Data Source | From File | Import Excel Spreadsheet.
This was an excellent tutorial for Access. I have not used Access in such a long time and this was a great tutorial to get back up to speed. Thank you so much! 👍
Excellent tutorial. Logical and straight forward flow. Easy to follow and listen. Lovely voice. Covered all the things I needed. Thank you so much for this service to your fellow humans. It was great!
Thank you for this Sali. I have basic knowledge of databases and have always wanted to learn more about Access. This tutorial is so easy to follow. Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you! Awesome, very helpful! Now I want to go build my own database! I watched this video because I have an Access exam this week. This video reinforced all the tutorials I had done for my Computer Apps course but not terribly understood (as I was just blindly following all the book's directions), and this video made everything a lot more clear. Thank you again, Isaiah P.S. I would like to watch Part 2 when that comes up, though I'll have taken my exam by then, so I doubt I would, but otherwise, if I were to go on and design my own database, I would very much like to watch Part 2, as I know it would be helpful as this video was very pointed and helpful.
It's obvious that you've made a hard work while preparing this useful and informative video, to present it to us on youtube for free.. Thank you so much and hope to learn more from you
This tutorial was amazing! Easy to follow, simple explanations, and he provides the Access files that he uses to explain the concepts he's teaching on. Great job Sali!
Thanks Sali for giving so much to us. You are indeed a great teacher adding value to so many lives. while i look forward to part 2, is my prayer you excel in all front of endeavors.
Thank you Sali, this is amazing. It is the first time that I decided to learn how to use MS Access, and this tutorial is just perfect, easy to follow and right on point. Can't wait for the part 2.
*I really like to use msaccess but, at the same time i don't after i watched your clip i really appreciate for helping me to understand how to use it. Thank you bro*
I needed to brush up on my Access skills and this was a perfect tutorial for it. I'm looking forward to part 2. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into this!
Very clear. Not too cluttered with extraneous info during processes. Some of this stuff I have known from previous ACCESS work and other relational databases. |It is a terrific review. For me some of the tutorial is old hat. Given that, I wonder if it is possible to break some of the tutorials out so the timing bar can be used as a 'jump forward' or "'jump backward" tool to find sections for review
I didn't know that it was that easy. Thank you so so much. I would like to watch Part 2 lesson. Looking forward to it. Once again, thank you Mr Kaceli.
Your tutorial was extremely helpful and I have reviewed several instructional videos prior to yours. I do have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for.....I have a spreadsheet that I'm importing into access that requires two additional columns added. The columns will be used to add a formula. Question: how do you add the column so that it does not disappear when running saved imports? I need these columns to appear in the final report that will be exported. Every time I run the saved imports it overrides the table. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
Thanks for a comprehensive video. Can you please help me on what datatype to use to Store hrs:min e.g. 1500:55 in access table where 1500 represents hrs and 55 represents minutes?
Hi, thank you a lot for the videos. They are truly great. I'm a student and it's really helping. I have found a problem - most probably - on my end. Everything so far was going super until I arrived at the import of the "invoicelist". For some reason, it has a problem with how the date is written. The date in the file is written "Month-day-year" and for my access seems to function "day-month-year" and so some data is lost when I import the document. I don't know if there is a way to fix it but just wanted to give a heads up. Oh... I'm working with Access 2007. Don't know if that the cause of the problem.
Hi Filuo, I had the same problem. To solve it, open the "Import Text Wizard" and click "Advanced". There you can select the "Date Order". Select "DMY", then click OK. Now it should work. Cheers.

Thanks for the video. I am an access beginner because excel is not providing what I need. Do you have videos that explain a strategy overview of access can we used. What I mean is "keep in the end in mind". I have tools that I have created in excel but they are single standing. My goal is create an Access tool that combines all the 15 different excel tools that I have into one single database. This will make it easier for the end user and I can control the data. For me, it is about controlling the data within various groups.
Thank you Mr. Kaceli for your excellent tutorial. I am working through it but am encountering a fairly big obstacle. When I import the text file (invoices), I can't complete, because when I give the final comand it refuses to go. The error message tells me that the comma acting as value separator is also the mark separating numbers from decimals (this makes sense because it's true in italian, which is the language the computer and the software are set up in). is there an easy workaround? am I making some mistake?
You can download the database file from here: kaceli.com/access2016files/ I have now updated the links to include the database with the imported tables.
@@KaceliTechTraining Unfortunately, when doing so, I get the following ERROR: "Not Found The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
I enjoy your tutorials they are great! I tried downloading and importing the Access 2016 Working Files and the Excel files (CustomerList and ContractList) worked great. I got an error loading the text file. The date format was rejected and that column was left blank. I even tried importing into Excel first and then into Access but no luck getting the text file date recognized in Excel. Are there some settings in Access 2016 that must be set to allow the date field format to be successfully imported. (In the import text file wizard it acknowledges that this field is "Date With Time") any suggestions? Other than manually removing the time.
Hey, Sali Kaceli, I'm very thankful for your time and effort putted in this tutorial, I have learned and reminded many things. Do you intend to make the second part? Thank you and cheers from Brazil
Thanks so much for your efforts, these two tutorials would be extremely beneficial for me, I have a new job that I would start soon. I was assuming that they would be using excel as their database, but I heard that it would actually access itself, I have few days to learn these important lessons. BEST REGARDS FROM BIRMINGHAM UK
Thank you Sali! I will be waiting for it as I am building a simple database for our Personnel records here at work and I want to use 2016 version of Access. :)

Oh... I'm working with Access 2007. Don't know if that the cause of the problem.
Most likely this has to do with the date format in control panel.
Hi Filuo,
I had the same problem. To solve it, open the "Import Text Wizard" and click "Advanced". There you can select the "Date Order". Select "DMY", then click OK. Now it should work.
Cheers.
Thank you for this instructional video.. you are an excellent teacher ... very clear instructions. thanks
Thanks Sali, you just helped me to put aside my fear of Access and saved me from VLookUp in Excell
Thank you sir for giving us such a wonderful lecture

I even tried importing into Excel first and then into Access but no luck getting the text file date recognized in Excel. Are there some settings in Access 2016 that must be set to allow the date field format to be successfully imported. (In the import text file wizard it acknowledges that this field is "Date With Time") any suggestions? Other than manually removing the time.
Probably because your system is region locked. Using different formats such as "." instead of "," in text files etc.
Late reply but had same issue. Use search feature.
