The response to Absynth’s cancellation has been far beyond anything I would have dreamed of. I knew there were still musicians using it regularly, but I’ve been very surprised by the magnitude of the reaction. Everyone has been massively supportive, and I’m very grateful to all who have shared their thoughts here and in messages I’ve received! It’s wonderful to think of all the music and sound design that has been made with Absynth. Thank you! -Brian
Is there anyway of getting it again??? I used it 5 years ago and came back to the session to finish the album, now i can't finish the record as I used absynth for loads of the synthetic
I purchased Absynth right after version 1.0 was released. I was BEYOND BLOWN AWAY at what Brian had come up with as a path forward for synthesis in software form - I even sent him some patches that he added to the factory voicing! Virtually every software synthesizer has lineage to some of the design ideas he implemented because he was truly one of the first to tackle synthesis on a computer screen with a fresh approach. Native Instruments has literally sat and done NOTHING with FM8 and Absynth for 10 years which is more than a little shocking but there are probably reasons we don't know for this decision. Plasmonic is a BEAST of a synthesizer with no equal and I can't wait to see what Brian does with taking ideas started in Absynth to the next level since N.I. clearly isn't interested. Seemed like such a great partnership for so long, sad to see it end this way.
You've been there since the beta of Absynth 1.0 John! Glad we're still friends and still making synths and cool sounds :) Thank you for the kind words and so much support from you over the years!!
I'm so happy to had made the decision early this year to got the NI Komplete Classics Collection with Abynth 5, FM8, Massive than upgraded to Komplete 13, the last bundle to have this handsome virtual instruments. At least, we can keep a legacy as soon as we can install and run it on a computer. I'm also dispointed that now editors not only Native Instruments, fall in lazy release of this kind of new Samples presets Players series instead to create fresh original synths/instruments to make unear sounds. I'm very worry for FM8 (sold 10€/10$ on plug-ins website) and original Stephen Schmitt plug-in like PRISM.
I am getting bored with hearing some synths being called 'beasts'. As if some of us cannot for the life of them come up with another adjective. Same thing with 'awesome'. Thankfully, that one seems to be going out of fashion... one can only hope. Anyway, let Absynth be open sourced.
The MESG envelopes and the endless wave morphing of LFOs is still unmatched. Don’t even get started on the insert effects and granular cloud effects and the wave shaping and ect ect ect ……. NI has lost their vision. What an embarrassment, NI. Seems like all the talent has left for other companies.
Thanks so much for posting this video! Sad to see such an iconic instrument to be discontinued... and TBH it was a big mistake just like the replacement of the classic Massive with the horrible Massive X, they should have totally upgraded both instead. Anyway - actually very glad that you went independent in the end. Plasmonic is an astonishing instrument, it's among the best software instruments I've ever used. It sounds like absolutely nothing else, would buy it ten times over! Simply can't wait to see what's next in your product lineup and I am pretty sure I'll be buying it on day one! Kudos, sir - Artemiy from Sinevibes
I used Absynth 5 on probably all songs of my first music album 8 years ago. I was hoping for Absynth 6 for a few years and thought Komplete 14 was the best chance of it happening, but unfortunately, we get to see its retirement. Glad I will continue to have Absynth 5 with my previous Komplete bundles. I still wish you and NI collaborate again and make Absynth 6 with a brand new, resizable and improved user interface and anything else you would have imagined doing for it. Thank you so much for this wonderful synth and my best wishes to you. That music at the end of the video was brilliant by the way.
I'm grateful that Absynth even existed. It has been my favourite softsynth. Its possibilities are endless. Thank you Brian for creating this incredibly creative tool.
Done buying new versions of Komplete until NI brings Absynth back or lets Mr. Clevinger release a standalone version of it - I'm still using the darned thing! They've done this before (B3/Prophet) but Absynth is a whole different level of not ok to axe. Try (or at least listen to) the sound sets from The Unfinished if you think it's something you can do without...
Absynth was one of the very first virtual instruments I ever bought - I think It was version 1 - in a box of course! It was my gateway into the entire NI ecosystem. It remains one of the most dynamic instruments ever created - and is still sonically competitive with some of the very best modern instruments. And even if Absynth itself fades into history, it showed a sonic design path that many synths are travelling to this day. A testament to Brian’s original vision! Absynth belongs into every synthesizer hall of fame and (for our US friends) on the Mount Rushmore of soft synths. - p.s. And of course I bought Plasmonic right away, when it was released.
Thank you for the kind words and support Nico! I'm happy I can still provide creative instruments to musicians who've been using Absynth since the early days :)
I was new to Absynth 2 years ago - when it came with Komplete 12. Prior to this I'd had a 30 year hiatus from synth music, in fact any music production - life just got in the way. During that time, hardware gave way to software in a major way. Even so, I felt Absynth was too busy and condensed and small, compared to a lot of NI's other offerings and basically left it alone. I only really started playing with Absynth early this year - but what a revelation it's been. I have to say, hand on heart - I've been more than blown away by how fresh this thing is, how different, how unique. It's ancient in soft synth terms, but from what I've experienced with it - it's far superior to most of the (very modern) plug-ins I now have. To see Absynth being discontinued, just as I'm getting to know it, is heartbreaking. I'm lucky enough to have a copy, but if another company were to pick up Brian's amazing work - which still has it's best days ahead - and finish NI's job, then take my money. I'm buying that the moment it comes out.
Thanks Shaun, I hope Absynth keeps running on your system for a long time, and that I'll be able to provide something to fill its niche in the not-too-distant future!
i totally agree with you. i started using Absynth pretty recently and it is a wonder. hope i can use it til i'm dead. i get a little ticked off when i think that future generations may not get to experience the beauty of Absynth. Absynth is and should be recognized as timeless
Absynth was, and still is, an absolute gem! Thank you very much for Absynth and for this video. I hope that this is a new beginning, and not an end. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the future, Brian!
Absynth is a milestone. It was revolutionary and changed the way how to look at software instruments. I used it in countless productions and am very disappointed that Native Instruments abandoned the instrument. Thank you very much for your work with Absynth!
Absynth was the first plug-in I ever used, it launched me into buying Native Instruments products. In the last decade though Native Instruments have taken a very damaging path where they do not support older software, refusing to activate software that people own. That lack of support from Native Instruments is why I do not buy their software anymore. I don't expect them to update older software to run on newer operating systems, but when the last known version of the software is able to install and run on a computer, and the only thing stopping it from working is that NI refuses to allow it to be activated, that is an unacceptable situation; I urge everyone to boycott NI until they provide a means of activating older software.
Earlier this year I bought the full Kontakt version to run a number of plugins, particularly Soundiron. I'm here for the long term, and beginning to realise that dependence on NI is a huge mistake in the long term, for the very reasons you state.
@@vidarhjal FM8 is still a recent application so it would not have activation problems. NI refuses to activate older products such as Pro-53, B4ii, FM7, Spektral Delay, Kompakt, etc.
I was planning on purchasing Absynth a while before it was discontinued, had no idea that it was going to be removed from the NI website. I didn't receive a paycheck for a while due to some work issues and was heartbroken to find out that it was discontinued by the time I was finally able to purchase. Thank you for all that you have done, the music I was able to create while using the demo was so soothing to my soul, incredible just to be able to have the ability to create such beautiful sounds with a simple computer keyboard and for that, I am forever grateful.
I just purchased a license a week ago. As a new user amazed with the sound and depth, I feel sad that Absynth has died before I really got to know it. For those that have used Absynth for years, I can only imagine how everyone feels. Thank you for your amazing contributions to synthesis, Brian. Look forward to checking out your future projects.
so sorry to hear this new, Brian. It is definitely a loss that Absynth will be discontinued from NI's line.... I know that *I* will keep it running as long as possible (...I still have a working version of Alchemy LOL!) - As with Absynth and Plasmonic, YOUR products and creativity speak for themselves and ARE actively appreciated! thanks so much for all your work, my friend
I wish NI had just started offering Absynth for free as part of Komplete start like they did with their Supercharger plugin. Update it to VST3 and let it be somebody's first soft synth as a way to introduce new musicians to NI's offerings and workflows. They had an opportunity there and I kind of doubt they even considered it. I have a lot of good memories working with Absynth. It was a wonderful synthesis sandbox that helped me craft an understanding. Thank you so much for all of that.
The news came on my radar today. So sad!!! Can we support the development of a new "absynth"? I will forever miss the "mutate" function... It was an endless inspiration tool. Thank you so much Brian!
Would be nice if, since discontinuing the instrument, they could transfer the intellectual property rights back to you in order to have a basis for its successor. NI has made their profits for 22 years, the ROI for them has been extraordinary in the software synth market with this instrument. In fact - Bryan, I would like to hear your thoughts on this, if this would even be an outcome you'd want, or if you're content to leave the IP in NI's hands.
@@rhizomaticsoftwaresynthesi6045 I hope the outcome is a positive one on principle. I understand the corporate motivations for discontinuing software that is no longer practical to support, even if it is popular and beloved. On the other hand, there's a precedent for software like uTonic which is just as relevant now as it was when released, I think many of us feel this way about Absynth. There are several ways to handle post-market support for software, I think most of us just want a respectful conclusion that's fair to the invested parties. That said, I'd prefer to look forward to what you'll do next than to mourn for what's now, in the world of software synthesis, the distant past. You certainly can make another super synth, of that I've no doubt whatsoever. But as you plainly state in the video, there are a glut of software synths these days, competing over minor, or even relatively indiscernible, differences. We both know well what the world does and does not need more of, haha... Add to this the remarkable selection of free software. And the endless samples! My God, the petabytes of them. The future of sound means a departure from that status quo. Plasmonic does this through PM+Subtractive via several control platforms, the most forward leaning, MPE (but we both love our SY-99s and always will). I believe there's plenty of innovation left to expose in PM synthesis, personally. Generative algorithms, certainly, though implementation should remain creative, not simply a method to replace the creator. I've given thought to novel forms of synthesis myself. Forgive the long reply - thanks for what you do, your creativity and your great attitude, it has brought the world incredible works of very real, and surreal, beauty. I'm certainly in line to buy!
@@fneeee For the past few years a lot of us designers have felt that everything's been done. But I do think there is always something new to discover. Maybe not a new synthesis technique, but a nice extension to something existing, or combining techniques in new ways. In the end details add up to something new. Physical Modeling certainly has huge potential, but it can get very heavy, and at some point when the algorithms become too complicated it makes it difficult to move away from the initial model in a creative way. So I only plan on fairly simple implementation of PM, but that can be easily combined with other methods. Thinking of classic techniques from the perspective of PM opens up new possibilities too. One way to break out of the "everything's been done" state of mind is to consider what kinds of sounds can't be synthesized. It's very easy to find sounds in the real world that I would have no idea how to reproduce on a synth! This can open one's perspective. I think generative stuff can be interesting of course, especially if there is a real-time creative input. It should be performable and not just something that provides you with a list of results where you spend your time picking out your favorite results. Things need to be kept in a musical perspective, so that the experience is musically enriching. The creative experience needs to change something in the musician's mind!
I am gutted by this news. Thank you Brian for making such a wonderful instrument that pushed the boundaries of modern sound design for so long. What a shame that the people at Native Instruments seem to think Absynth isn't important. In any case, I hope to see many more Rhizomatic creations in the future. Your contributions are deeply appreciated, Brian.
Absynth was such an important part of my own development. I remember understanding none of it, but preset surfing led to odd and unique sounds I hadn't heard from other things at the time. That opened my mind and encourage exploration as I tried to figure out what was happening and learn what was going on. Thanks for the video, it's nice to hear from you directly and the new Plasmonic looks fantastic!
Adventure Time used many Absynth and FM8 patches throughout many tracks. I became blown away when I explored both of these two virtual synths since this summer. I'm so sad to see this virtual synthesizer go three months later.
Adventure Time is one of my two favorite TV shows ever (just below Twin Peaks). The show is a unique work of art. When my adult son comes home to visit we always watch a few episodes, and he often says “hey, that sounds like Absynth!”. The music is by far my favorite TV soundtrack ever. There are so many great musical ideas in Marceline’s Closet for example, you could develop a whole album from it. I’ve bought some of the soundtrack albums available and listen to it in the car. Thank you for telling me this! Are you one of the composers or were you involved in the show? And thank you for using Absynth!
One of the things I have returned to over and over since day 1. Thank You! Plasmonic sits on my desktop, just haven't had the time to dive into it with my Linnstrument. I hope soon. Your video is very real and generous. Absynth is so much better than so many thing NI is doing these days. I have been using Reaktor also since day 1. The two together have been a remarkable pair.
On a positive note, while Absynth might be in sunset mode, this whole debacle brought Plasmonic to my attention, it is easy when locked into packages like Komplete Ultimate to miss gems like this. As an ambient/relaxation composer Plasmonic sounds like a breath of fresh air in a room full or eddying but otherwise unchanging currents. I do hope we'll see this instrument continue to evolve as Absynth has done in the past. Thank you for all your efforts, as a musician and software engineer I salute you :-)
Absynth was and IS a core part of my workflow, since version 1. Thank you for developing this, and I am glad that you have issued a statement. I will be following your work with Rhizomatic Software Synthesis closely to see what happens next.
I want to say thanks for developing Absynth! I still love it a lot and use it in my music. A brilliant plugin, one of the all time greats! I also have Plasmonic which I like a lot, still exploring it. Thanks again for your hard work!
Absynth has been used for 20 years in nearly all of my scores... in the first ten years, I think I had the Magic Flute preset used in many, many video games and film score.
I remember running Absynth way back on MacOS 9. It was the only soft synth that I felt was as good as the hardware synths I enjoyed using at the time. Plasmonic is similarly excellent and I would recommended it to anyone who loved Absynth. Thanks to Brian for both and looking forward to whatever else you make next!
Absynth was and still is my Studio companion. Thank you Brian. I hope you keep this elder friend among you new plugins. Of course in a new version or update.
Sad occasion, but I'll use it to tell you how grateful I am to Brian. I fell in love with Absynth at first sight. For 2001, it was groundbreaking, confirming that status with each new version. It's 2022 and I'm still using it. It's probably the only software synthesizer I haven't stopped using since the early '00s. We've matured together. Dear Brian, your genius brainchild has opened up the world of sound design for me. You are both my heroes. Absynth is (un)dead, long live Absynth ! ❤👏
You're a legend Brian! My journey with Absynth started back with Komplete 5 and I'm on Komplete 12 Ultimate now. Just recently, Chris Steller (legend) put me on to your amazing Plasmonic - it's a sound designer's paradise! I bought it the moment finances allowed and I'm looking forward to spending many years into the future exploring it's unique approach to synthesis. While it's truly amazing that Absynth has been around for 20+ years (!), I just hope I can continue authorising it on my existing DAWs and I look very much forward to what you'll come up with next! Much respect and thanks for inspiring millions of musicians with the otherworldly pallet Absynth delivers.
Plasmonic all the way to support out of the box thinking original developers... which appear only so sparsely those days. Some statements being said here, I share deeply by heart. Keep it up!
Very sad news. This synth is really special. Talk to the guys at Bitwig. They are doing such amazing things. I don't know how hard or feasible it is but in my mind I think it would be so cool if they could take absynth to new and amazing places because their DAW is totally on fire man. Thank you for all of your great work.
Thank you for this message. I still use Absynth on at least 1/4 of my tracks, it's just so powerful. I can't wait to see what you go on to make! Best of luck!
I'm so grateful for your creation, thank you is all I can say, and wonderful to see its creator. Absynth revolutionized so much and is in my view up there with Waldorf's best of the best and Reaktor. I will out your newer creation.
Absynth is one of the most BRILLIANT pieces of music software ever created in the last 30 years! Brian should be very proud of this instrument, it's that good! There are two types of people that use soft synths. There are those that merely scratch the surface, playing around with the presets until they find one or two that they like, and then there are those that dive deeply into every parameter and sub menu of an instrument, just to see how far down into the rabbit hole they can disappear into. I am of that second group, and when I say that Absynth is a BRILLIANT bit of work, I know what I am talking about, because after owning Absynth since 2001, I have not even scratched the surface of what this thing is capable of! Good job Brian! Keep on coding!
First, I found out that Absynth was dying and NI was no longer investing in it, and this really, really upset me. I went and made an angry post (or 3) on the NI forums, and vented that out of my system. Then, I found this video and immediately went to the site, and I am ECSTATIC! I played the demo for all of 2 minutes and instantly bought the full version. I am exhausted today because I stayed up many hours past bedtime last night, experimenting and playing to my heart's delight. Ive used Absynth since version 1, decades ago, and despite any other newer synths that have been developed, it has always held a special place in my heart and my music. I couldnt believe NI Was dropping Absynth, and this shakes my faith in them to the core. What is next? Suddenly retiring Battery? FM8? Anyway now that Ive found Plasmonic, I feel much, much better about everything and I am a customer for life or as long as it lasts.
I recently learned about this news. I am beyond hot to say the least. I purchased 3, in a box, at a Guitar Center here in Texas back in 2004 and have been in love with it ever since. It is easily one of my favorite synthesizers for making Pads and FX type noises. The EG with unlimited points is my favorite feature as well as the powerful oscillators. The patch library that it comes with is unreal and the community patches available are out of this world. I attempted to log in and look at my available licenses to see if I could contact N.I. about possibly upgrading to 5 since I own a license for 3, but couldn’t find an email or a phone number, so I’m not sure how to get that question answered. Perhaps I’m blind and missed it, I’ll look again before taking matters into my own hands. I’m currently getting a new machine for production and I want to add 5 to my toolbox, but if N.I. is going to make it impossible to purchase it legally, then I will do what I have to do. It pains me to no end that there are idiotic shareholder suit types who think they’re going to dictate to artists what can and can’t be utilized… and then have the audacity to cry about piracy.
Absynth has been one of the most inspiring tools I've used since starting back into computer music (about 9 years ago). The feelings I had when I first tried it still stick with me today. Pure nostalgia.
One of the best software synthesizer ever made. Custom envelopes and modulations assignable to anything, mutate and randomize function, waveshapers, unique fx... It will be missed. Thanks for your work Brian, wish you all the best!
Absynth 5 is my favourite synth ever. It created in me so much emotion and happiness, it made me see an alteration of the world I'm currently in! For anybody that love sounds related a lot to Europe and around the world specially dark, mystical, new age, rainy, landscape and nature, Absynth is the perfect software for that! Brian I owe you everything, you are the best and NI made a huge mistake removing Absynth from their product line I hope they know that!!
Thanks for the update Brian! I had Absynth before NI took it over and used it a bit on my 2004 CD. Then I took a long 15 year sabbatical from music (long story) and now doing it again in a completely different way. Not using Absynth, but I am TOTALLY ASTOUNDED by Plasmonic and I really hope you put your energy into refining and adding to that instrument. And thank you for being accessible and helpful with the inquiries I've had over the past few months.
@@rhizomaticsoftwaresynthesi6045 For me, playing with this kind of music is quite therapeutic, especially with programs like Plasmonic and Emergency Quantum and controllers like the Roli and the Artiphon!
Some of my earliest tracks used Absynth quite a bit, the granular features, cloud filter, aetherizer were all revolutionary at the time and are still unique by today's standards. Hopefully this change allows you the freedom to resurrect the spirit of absynth and repackage it in an updated form with a better gui. As you said, there are still a lot of unique things about absynth, and I still think it has a lot to offer. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
Great work Brian. While I still love Absynth I still keep reaching for Plasmonic to add that unique sonic atmosphere in music. It offers an endless universe of possibilities!
Absynth is not a synthesizer, it is a unique idea, it is an opportunity to create real magic of sound. No other synth has been able to do this so far. Please Brian, everyone wants a new absinth.
Thanks for the instrument Brian 😍 I’m just a hobby musician but some of my music has been included on charity compilations (MSF) and raised money to help others - Absynth was all over those tracks 😊
Absynth was the synth that inspired me to go professional when I was starting to feel jaded with convention. Pure magic. Plasmonik seems more complex and challenging, but it will come to me.
I purchased Absynth 1. BEFORE it was aquired by Native Instruments. It was the FIRST legit softsynth for the Mac. Bummed that NI made this move. Brian Clevinger is a revolutionary soft synth dev. Before Omnisphere was a dream, Absynth led the way. Brian's new symth, Plasmonic is excellent! I will continue to support B.C. a true, original innovater in the soft synth field
I learned synthesis with a cracked version of Absynth (2, if I remember well) and almost 20 years later I think it's still one of the best soft synth ever made. Thanks for this amazing instrument Brian (I bought it since then 😉), it's a big part of the music-made-on-computer history. I'm glad I can still use its AU version on m1 mac thanks to the AU Hosting thing, let's hope this feature doesn't get removed... until Absynth comes back!
Thanks, and I'm glad you bought it, lol! Unfortunately at some point a new MacOS update will stop supporting Intel apps, at which point it will only work on older macOS. But hopefully there will be a solution by then
Thank you Brian, for Absynth. I still use and love it, and while 22 years might be a long time for software, Absynth as an instrument is still young. I will check out Plasmonic.
Wow, I just managed to grab it in a recent bundle sale, with other plugins, I only bought it because of Absynth tho. Really enjoyed the synth's uniqueness and quick atmospheric and textural inspiration!
I have a rule that I'll never buy a product that requires online activation. Absynth was the one synth I broke that rule for, it's just a very special and beautiful instrument. You really did some great work. I'd wish Rhizomatic would change their stance on this, but you know what's best for your company.
I fell in love with Absynth instantly and it's always been my doorway into NI's products overall. I recently told myself that I'm going to dig deeper into it's capabilities just because of my love for it's amazing sounds. When I first saw Plasmonic I thought hmmmm...this interface reminds me of my favorite synth Abynth...little did I know it was the same hand behind both that alone made me buy it as well. Anything that has your hand behind it I'm interested in period I'll follow you wherever you go and that's all that matters...here's to the not so distant future of YOUR sound!!
@@rhizomaticsoftwaresynthesi6045 you and me both such inspiration has paved the way for so many of us truly the sound of our dreams my friend peace be with you!
The pipe effect was so good! I was into BOC at the time and that effect really hit home. I also loved the multi stage envelopes! I made a whole album with evolving ambience based on different lengths of looping envelopes. Really truly “Alien Technology!” Thanks so much Brian! I’m now making music under the name “Ambionik” (SoundCloud) but before that was under the name “elipsis1”. I’m using plasma ice now in some projects and am really enjoying that! 🙏🤘🏼
Dear Brian, I love plasmonic... but maybe you can create a "Absynth 2.0" which is not based on the intellectual property of NI but start from scratch... you can do a new crowdfunding for this. I know I will support it like I supported Plasmonic. Thanks for your contributions to the music world and keep going. Love your stuff...
@@rhizomaticsoftwaresynthesi6045 With the M1 chip in the iPad I would love to see iPad compatibility too👍🏾 Also can Absynth be made open source? Rather than killing it off?
I just found out about this, and I'm kind of furious about it cos i wanted to check if NI had updated it to the M1, buuuuuut apparently this? Oh well I better check out your new stuff. Keep being awesome dude.
Relatively new user of Absynth through K13 CE a couple of years ago. To be honest - despite having all those other synths and Kontakt instruments (and omnisphere too) - I do keep returning to Absynth. It’s awesome. Cheers Brian and good luck. Will follow what you’re up to.
I remember when I first demo'd NI Komplete back in 2008, Absynth immediately stood out as a versatile synth and I became mezmorised by its hyper-real sonic textures. When I explored and tinkered further I really enjoyed (and still do) the logical, mathematical approach to sound design, integrating wavetables and easy-draw harmonics, adding near endless envelope breakpoints, deep spatial effects based on traditional principles of sound. Not to mention the amazing comb filters. The Aetherizer also was a keystone introduction into granular synthesis as well for me, as well as the sync granular and granular sample-based osc and the cloud module for the extra hit of that granularity and musicality. The centralized structure of using/creating wavetables for oscs, mods and LFOs always appealed to me and made synthesis a breeze. I am grateful to be an active user of this and to make presets and demo them on my channel. A big thank you to you Brian for Absynth, it is a remarkable tool. I hope you can still distribute it again soon. I am also fascinated by Plasmonic and what you plan to offer in the near future!
I LOVE ABSYNTH, it had unique features and the sounds make me feel like im in the time period it was made. I liked the mutate and the aesthetic and i had a lot of presets
Thanks for everything Brian - so sad to hear this news, really stupid move from N.I. (and thats coming from a Kore ecosystem user!). I will continue to use Absynth for as long as its physically possible but Im excited to try your new stuff! Oh an Hi from back in the old days of the Absynth Yahoo group 🙂

No need to worry NI will come out with some new loops and some sub par tuba samples so we can all calm down.
Absynth was huge for me when it came out. Used it so much and it broadened my sonic tastes.
Wonderful piece at the end!
@@Hainbach thank you!! All done with Absynth's envelopes, full track is here: soundcloud.com/brian-clevinger-1/lautre-cot-de-labime
yep. well 13 k views just to see the news.... I think it is not over yet :) !!!!
I still use Absynth in my music. It has been a workhorse and will be until it works, no more. Thank you, Brian!!
Pls make Absynth 2. This amazing synth can't be dead forever
There's technically an "Absynth 2", but it was an older soundbank that was part of Absynth Legacy.
It's called "Plasmonic", go buy it, it's amazing
Absynth 6*
One of the greatest synth ever made. Used it countless times.
I knew I could find you here.
Thank you!!
Thanks Sinevibes, that means a lot especially coming from the creator of such beautiful plugins! I deeply admire your work!!
Absynth the only reason i bought into the komplete ecosystem
Long Live ABSYNTH !!!
Thank you Brian for creating this incredibly creative tool.
thank you Apollonius!!
Absolutely! Wish I could pin this comment!
Absynth is legendary. The Nether Portal noise from Minecraft comes from Absynth. Absolutely beautiful.
Im so sad, how could they do this? I want that synth. :((
As a long Absynth lover I just want to say "thank you" to Brian. You made my journey in sound exploration vast and deep.
Even if it's discontinued, I'll still keep using it, because it's awesome! 😁 Love Plasmonic as well, can't wait to see what's next.
I dont have it so I cant use it 😩😞
Absynth 2 was literally the first software instrument I used in creating music in the new paradigm . I used it in my most recent project this year.
Thanks Martin, I'm happy it's been part of your music!
Its such a shame its gone. Please NI bring it back
Absynth was the first plug-in I ever used, it launched me into buying Native Instruments products.
I bought recently FM8 and had no problems installing or activating it. I'm using Windows.
@@vidarhjal FM8 is still a recent application so it would not have activation problems. NI refuses to activate older products such as Pro-53, B4ii, FM7, Spektral Delay, Kompakt, etc.
How unfortunate
Has the beautiful absynth been similarly strangled as of today?
I was planning on purchasing Absynth a while before it was discontinued, had no idea that it was going to be removed from the NI website. I didn't receive a paycheck for a while due to some work issues and was heartbroken to find out that it was discontinued by the time I was finally able to purchase. Thank you for all that you have done, the music I was able to create while using the demo was so soothing to my soul, incredible just to be able to have the ability to create such beautiful sounds with a simple computer keyboard and for that, I am forever grateful.
I'm so sorry you didn't get a chance to use the full version :(
Thank you Brian for the great time i had and still have with Absynth!
Alchemy and Absynth = beasts
Thanks so much TheBlort!
In fact - Bryan, I would like to hear your thoughts on this, if this would even be an outcome you'd want, or if you're content to leave the IP in NI's hands.
it may be possible to resurrect it, don't know at this point. But if it doesn't happen I can just develop a new supersynth.
@@fneeee with PM you’re referring to Pulswith modulation?
@@jeli780 Physical modeling!
Thank you Bryan!
Thank you! There's a demo of Plasmonic on the Rhizomatic website if you want to check it out: rhizomatic.fr/index.php/downloadplasmonic/
@@rhizomaticsoftwaresynthesi6045 I’m not one of the composers nor was involved in the show. The composers are Tim Kiefer and Casey James Basichis.
@@rhizomaticsoftwaresynthesi6045 Artefact Lead is one of my favorite patches!!! I wonder who did that one?
Liking but still sad to see an iconic software synthesizer removed from NI's product line.
Geezuz
I have so many fantastic patches!!
This synth CANNOT DIE, Brian
Thank you for a wonderful synth
I already wrote NI
The proper etiquette here would be for Native Instruments to return the rights to you, Brian.
One can hope they would in due time.
Hope that will happen, I expect it will take some time
Very sad news! I love Absynth and I can't imagine making music without it...I wish you all the best Brian. You make wonderful instruments!
Absynth will never disappear from my explorations, and Plasmonic is an inescapable rabbit hole. Worlds within worlds…
Thank you sir!
Hat off and thank you very much Brian! You made a sounds paradise for years! See you on your new creative instruments.
Please don't let this be the end, this is my main synth 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Absynth was my first electronic instrument with microtuning capabilities. It changed everything. Thank you!
I want to say thanks for developing Absynth! I still love it a lot and use it in my music. A brilliant plugin, one of the all time greats! I also have Plasmonic which I like a lot, still exploring it. Thanks again for your hard work!
Thanks for the kind words and for supporting Plasmonic!
Absynth FX was unbelievably important to my production process. I'm unbelievably sad that it is discontinued, and pray for a re-release, or a sequel
Absynth has been used for 20 years in nearly all of my scores... in the first ten years, I think I had the Magic Flute preset used in many, many video games and film score.
Magic Flute was made by Steffen Müller in the early days, he made some great patches! Wonderful to know Absynth's still part of your music.
Brian, Absynth was revolutionary. Had a lot of amazing moments with it. Thanks so much.
Absynth was and still is my Studio companion. Thank you Brian. I hope you keep this elder friend among you new plugins. Of course in a new version or update.
Looking forward to all future Rhizomatic plugins! Plasmonic is amazing
Thanks, glad you like Plasmonic!
Thank you, that means a lot to me :)
Thank you, I'm happy both of my instruments have been part of your sonic palette!
Plasmonic all the way to support out of the box thinking original developers... which appear only so sparsely those days. Some statements being said here, I share deeply by heart. Keep it up!
RIP to a real one
Best of luck moving forward, Brian. Absynth is a beautiful instrument.
What a sad day... Thanks for such a great synth!!! I'm looking forward to your new instruments!
Absynth will always be a true legend! Not much comes close!
Thanks Franz!
Thanks for supporting both Absynth and Plasmonic David!
Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
my first soft synth. you were right with me when I started my music making journey. thank you
Great work Brian. While I still love Absynth I still keep reaching for Plasmonic to add that unique sonic atmosphere in music. It offers an endless universe of possibilities!
Thank you Brian, for developing my favorite synth, soft or hardware. Absynth made my heart grow fonder - it's absence won't...
Absynth is not a synthesizer, it is a unique idea, it is an opportunity to create real magic of sound. No other synth has been able to do this so far. Please Brian, everyone wants a new absinth.
I love ur comment, 100% true🥰
Thanks for the instrument Brian 😍
I’m just a hobby musician but some of my music has been included on charity compilations (MSF) and raised money to help others - Absynth was all over those tracks 😊
That's wonderful Chris!
“Absynth shall prevail”. Hopefully you can get the full rights again. At the end of the day, it is your creation”. We all want to see a new Absynth!
Thank you!
Wonderful plugin, it has been part of my core sound for many years.. The effects in particular still amaze me today.
Thank you BC for an incredible synth that I love and use a lot!
Thanks, very happy you're still using it!
Wow, I just managed to grab it in a recent bundle sale, with other plugins, I only bought it because of Absynth tho. Really enjoyed the synth's uniqueness and quick atmospheric and textural inspiration!
glad you got it before it was too late

@@rhizomaticsoftwaresynthesi6045 ❤️ thank you! I can't wait!
Thanks K C!
Still nothing like it … Thank You!!
I remember when I first used Absynth some years ago, I was blown away!
I love hearing your sound explorations. I really wanted Absynth to obey the sound designer, and it's great to hear you using it in such a unique way!
Thank you for everything! What a wonderful instrument.
Thank you Matt!
If you build it we will buy it Absynth v2! Great sounds, really like it.
Welp, no upgrade to Komplete Ultimate 14 for me then.
I LOVE ABSYNTH, it had unique features and the sounds make me feel like im in the time period it was made. I liked the mutate and the aesthetic and i had a lot of presets
Brian, Thank you for Absynth!! Mind blowing truly groundbreaking instrument. I’d go with “green fairy” synth should you decide to keep going
I remember Biomechanoid made a great soundpack for Absynth with a cool green fairy.
The Yahoo group was a blast, great to hear from you!
