- There are many hidden weapons in mw2's files, and today I'll be showing you them. This video missed a couple of things like for example a weapon model of the L85.

I was expecting a terrible clickbaity video with annoying commentary but this video is actually pretty solid, and interesting.
Thank you! This video was made almost a year ago, and now looking back at it, it could have been a lot better if I f. e. added some commentary, but none the less it's still accurate to this day.

@@kark7287 they added the M1911 to museum, the L86 LSW into a few missions, and the W1200 became quite common on the playstation and xbox versions of the game.

Ok, so I have a friend who worked at Infinity Ward as an AI Engineer
between 2005 and 2012. I decided to ask him about some of the secret stuff and see what he knew about it.
G36C - "Originally this was meant to be an AR being in the same place as the current M16A4 and was meant to be a fully automatic weapon." and when asked why it is on top of the bridge he doesn't know.
Artillery Strike - "Was meant to be a killstreak that would down all enemy air craft currently up (UAVs, Chopper Gunner,AC130,exc)."
W1200 - "Was to be used by the Russian Ultranationalists and would have been nonexistent in the multiplayer (I'm not sure it might of replaced something else early on)."
He also said that some of the other COD4 content were just place holders used instead of full models as there animations weren't finished.
Usually I am skeptical towards comments like yours, because there's no way to confirm or deny the correctness of these things you stated for privacy reasons for this AI engineer, however, this sounds very likely to be true. Thanks for sharing :)
that comment about the W1200 makes a ton of sense actually cause in the opening cutscene of SSDD wich is the first mission, you see some ultranationalist guards with the W1200 overwatching the Zakhaev statue ua-cam.com/video/Kl6PlBI2tFk/v-deo.html ... if you look close you can spot a troop with a W1200

I don't know if it's in single player, but the Gold Desert Eagle is in multiplayer. Only developers were supposed to have access to it, but ya know, modders did their thing :/

Ethan Blair it’s unlikely to do nowadays, but if you ended up in a modded lobby, there was an option in the mod menu where you could edit your classes. In there, you had options to edit it ways you normally couldn’t, such as a primary as your secondary weapon, a primary + secondary + one man army without the perk, etc. There was also the option of the Gold Desert Eagle as well. I don’t think you can use USB mods for this, cuz last I knew modders were running JTAG’s and RGH’s to access these mid menus, but that was years ago now. Hope this helped!

I'm guessing the R700 and M40A3 were only found in "Of Their Own Accord" because they might have been scrapped for the Barret M82A1 w/Thermal Scope in the Sniper part of the mission where you had to take out Javelin teams hitting the EVAC sight.

MW2 and MW3 won't use the typical AK-47 models in COD4 because the setting was to depict future eras, which realistically speaking Russians won't be using AK-47 anymore but more modernized variants.

Nothing. I stated in the video that it might have been a place holder pickup icon when the devs didn't have all the guns and textures completed yet.

M1911 is in the final game , you can find it in the museum level in a weapon stand in the pistol section lol
And remember when Soap gave it to Price at the mission called the Gulag
However it isn't useable in the conventional campaign missions, special ops, nor multiplayer
you can also find the W1200 normally in museum no cheats

In one of the spec ops missions you can find mp5ksd not only a silenced mp5k but also with a different design

Just a little heads up, the reason the artillery strike and a few others were in this is because they used cod 4s game as a base so they don’t have to make new physics and such, but they can’t remove everything so there’s scraps of old parts just lying around everywhere

@@JitSlayer Of course they do - they are using the same engine and generally the same feel all round - huge parts of the code will be identical. To start from scratch each time would be foolish.
It's not 100% true. I was at E3 when mw2 was announced and there was an A&Q show with IW as well. One of the reporter asked about the arty since a lot of player liked it from w@w and hoped they could put it in, but IW made most of the maps way too covered for it so instead they made the harrier. Fast small bombing then u will have a gunship cover. Google up mw2 e3 show and u will find. But the rest is right what Classic1337 said

I wouldn't call it my favorite pistol but I didn't hate it either. I think it was decent but the running animation could have been better.

If you play on PC there is an alternate MW2 server service to steams that allows you to play with some of these guns and more. The m40 is in this list.
The Dragonov was in a couple missions in hidden locations as well. Most notably on the campaign level "The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday"
it was also in Contingency
not cut weapons, simply just a leftover from the code from their previous games :) intetesting video none the less!

I didn't know this video existed till now. Seeing COD4 guns copied exactly as they were into MW2 I probably would be upset. But now old COD brings good memories.
There’s also a Single Player exclusive Camo for the famas: It has white tape and gives a “zebra” design to the gun. Found in museum IIRC

Holy crap the CoD Blops music in the background gave me so much nostalgia that my heart hurts. I had played other Cod's before, but Blops was the first one I was old enough to understand, appreciate and get good at. Just for nostalgia reasons its probably my favorite game of all time.
The M1911 can actually be picked up in museum without mods. The last display case on the left in the spawn room has it.

G36 and M60, a few others were cut. Some of them can still be laying around in the game files because they were using the same engine from ID tech quake engine up to present day in new Call Of Duty's as well.
U can see if i remember good the m1911 pistol in campaign in mission gulag when u find price minutes after soap gives price the pistol and say THIS BELONGS TO YOU SIR

Thx for the support! I think this is one of the best videos I've done in a while, but strangely enough I've gotten most of the views and dislikes only in the past week. I suspect youtube prefers the bigger youtubers' videos over mine, but popularity doesn't come overnight.
UA-cam's algorhythm plays a big role in popularity as well. I'm not even sure why this video was recommended for me yesterday, as I wasn't even watching CoD-related videos, but I guess you're doing something right, if the popularity is increasing.

The Skorpion is also left over, used in the same mission as the M60e4. And the R700 and m40 can also be used on the oil rig mission alongside the m60.

G36C or L85A2 would have been solid for the assault rifle category- would take either of those over the F2000 any day
Very interesting findings. However, you still missed a lot of them. Here are list of secret discoveries I just made in every single single-player campaign and Spec Ops levels:
- G36c also appears in "Wreckage". The reason why it was called HUD_G36C_MP has nothing to do with any hints of this weapon going to appear in MW2 multiplayer. Its basically a leftover G36C weapon from COD4's MP version as its original model file supposedly has no reflex scope but combination of red dot sight, ACOG, M203, and silencer attachments. In this game they provided the COD4 SP version which has reflex scope, which is not the correct file model. It should've been using COD4's RDS attachment instead as the name explicitly states "G36C Red Dot Sight".
- The artillery strike and Lee Enfield hud images are leftover contents from COD/COD2. Both hud images also appears in Modern Warfare 3 IWD folder.
- M60E4 not only appears in "Team Player". It can be obtainable in oil-rig maps such as "The Only Easy Day... Was Yesterday", "Wetwork", and "Armor Piercing". It uses the MG4 firing sound (MG4 actually uses M60E4 firing sound, as ripped sound files is named as m60).
- W1200, like M60E4, is found in oil-rig related levels "The Only Easy Day... Was Yesterday", "Wetwork", and "Armor Piercing". It can also be grabbed at "Team Player", "The Hornet's Nest", and "Bomb Squad".
- M1911 Colt. 45 can also be found at "Team Player" and "Of Their Own Accord", as well as Spec Ops missions "Overwatch" and "Snatch & Grab".
- The sniper rifles R700 and M40A3, again just like W1200 and M60E4, are also found in all oilrig levels "The Only Easy Day... Was Yesterday", "Wetwork", and "Armor Piercing". In "Team Player", you can obtain R700 but not M40A3.
Now here comes some of the guns you totally missed out:
Skorpion - Obtainable in "Team Player".
M249 SAW - Obtainable in ALL Juggernaut-related Spec Ops missions "Snatch & Grab", "Estate Takedown", "High Explosive", and "Armor Piercing", indicating that the Juggernauts were originally going to be equipped with M249 SAW before replacing with M240. Interestingly, you can even grab its COD4 attachments such as Red Dot Sight (give saw_reflex) and ACOG Sight (give saw_acog). The Red Dot Sight lens look a bit buggy as it uses the MW2 texture rather than COD4 lens.
I Preffer 10 times the COD4 Ak-47 version than the MW2 Version
You can find the MP5SD on the mission, Loose Ends, in one of the basement rooms.

Makes sense for the majority of them, probably left overs from cod4 in the engine or something. Mg42 or mg3 is weird though, same with the enfield.
The MP5SD (suppressed) can be found in the basement of makarovs estate, and i think it is also avaliable in a spec ops mission, but dont quote me there

I remember doing the spec ops mission where you evade the Russian patrols in the snow. I know you can get the draganouv, but I rarely you can get 2 other Russian guns ( one a shotgun attainable on the museum mode, and another was a rifle). Been combing UA-cam to see if anyone else has ever seen it...
you forgot to mention that the Skorpion can actually be obtained in Team Player along with the R700
I feel like the g36c would have been incredibly overpowered if it made it into multiplayer. Kinda sad it didn’t tbh. Really cool video. Expected it to be a bunch of stupid but left surprised👍
If MW2 Remastered ever happens, I have little doubt that many of these weapons would be added in as DLC.

Hey, the m1911 its not cut from the game! Or at least not in the ps3 version...
The l85 might not have made it in the game but the LSW ( L86 ) which is a LMG made it into the game
See C-A-C of L86 LSW in Alpha version of the Game, its look like L85 LSW without scope, and CAC and Model of Tactical Insertion is look like a glow stick, and Blast Shield Equipment have different CAC. In alpha version, there's a cut Death Streak called "Dead Man's Hand" which is in MW3 but i'm also it's a cut game mode. And holographic sight is just called "EOTech" in the alpha version which isn't really a big change at all.
That L85 is in the game. You can find it in the estate in a spec ops mission.
That's the LMG variant, not the actual AR.

The one in multiplayer is the L86 Lsw, the L85 is shorter

Mw2 uses much of the code from waw and artillery strike was in waw probably a copy paste type deal

If you wanted solid proof that mw2 was just 4.5 this is it. It was only reskinned so aggressively that you can still access old guns not offically in game if you just barely dig for it.
Sad that a lot of iconic modern weapons never made it into Modern Warfare 2 like the G3 and G36
I think since they planned on putting the Fal in mw2. They didn't want to add another semi-auto rifle that would probably have dealed the same damage.

the game is based on cod4 engine which is itself based on cod2 engine, therefore all of the assets you can find in game files from previous games are just leftovers

Most likely balance reasons. Some guns may have been overpowered to others, and the devs were to tired to tweak them to perfection. The other thing, is that cod is known for being a game series where many things are re-used for example many identical buildings can be found on many different maps and games. This reputation of copying and pasting might have driven them to choose certain weapons over others, after all, the game can't have 100 different weapons when you can play with fewer just fine.
True. But I'd really love to see the different Deagle variants, the M1911, the G36C and the two snipers in MP. I'm a sucker for reload animations and I find those guns mentioned to be slick af. But that's just me haha.
There are some mw2 clients that allow you to use weapons from other cods (mainly cod4 and bo2). For example iw4x is a client which allows u to play with the cod4 classic ak47, ak74u, w12000 and M40A3, golden desert eagle and bo2's peacekeeper. Many more weapons could also be added via mods made by community. There are alternatives to iw4x, but it is the only really populated one nowadays. For testing weapons and stuff sure it's nice, but I'd stay away from their discord server (their staff is awful). Hope I could help.
I heard that there was some hardware limitations on the last gen engine that only allows certain amount of available weapons to coexist in your client side, and that's the reason why you never see any dlc weapons in older cods and only a few was added in codg while competitors like bf3 were putting a lot of new guns in their dlc.
