Im moving from 450HP to 550HP muscle cars to ND3. Why? I drove GR86 and was reminded how much I missed light tossable cars with good feedback. I hear ND3 is even better, better steering than the S2000 I drove many years ago. Plus wanted to try convertible for first time.
Convertible will make you feel wild and free lol
Without sounding condescending or anything. Sounds like you’re growing up 😂😂
I currently own a Camaro ss 1le, Mazda rx8 (that I’ve owned for 20 years) and I’m going to keep them both .. waiting for the last model year to buy a Miata. After the ND I feel I will have all the driving experiences I wanted so the Miata will be my swang song
Went from a M2 Competition to an ND2 and never looked back. Enjoy!
welcome to the club, you're stuck here now. enjoy that top down, everything is better with the top down
“Man, fuck them numbers” haha too true. Great video. You can see the joy on your face. I’ve driven 400-500hp monsters but the most fun I’ve had is in light roadsters and go-karts. Gonna get a Miata, BRZ or something like that soon. Thanks for posting and keep enjoying!
Thanks for watching
Yep
7:13 "I can make it my own..."
So true. Aftermarket on Miatas is incredible. Moss Miata, Flyin' Miata, Good-win, Planet Miata, etc. And parts and accessories are not expensive. On top of that, there's a lot of clubs and owners' groups. This little car is just so FUN it makes people enthusiastic like that.
You bought a Miata because it's always the answer. 😂
I don't remember if I left a comment in another video about this, but you should double check that the front of the convertible top doesn't rub against the back of the roll hoops when the top is down. It can wear a hole into the cover for an expensive repair right after your warranty runs out depending on how often you put the top down. There is a TSB to get it fixed for free if needed.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll check it out
I've owned a 1991 for a few years. They really are special cars, and that's 90% due to how stress-free having fun in them is. No high speed. No insane maintenance. Lots of emotion and character out of a seemingly unremarkable car. Really takes driving one to get it for most people. Congrats on the new ride!
I've had my '97 M Edition for just about 2 and a half years now. I was having a no start issue and I fixed it with a paper clip yesterday lol. I love the car, I still look forward to driving it every time
@ufork what did the issue end up being?
@@glorentzen it was the neutral/clutch safety switch I believe, the feature that prevents you from turning the car on with the clutch engaged, basically prevents you from turning the car on in gear without the clutch in so that it doesnt immediately jerk forward and stall. I bypassed it, by unplugging a wire connection under the dash. In one end of the wire connection i put two ends of a paper clip in and covered it in electrical tape. It can be done more safely and professionally, but this was just a way I saw on youtube that seemed pretty easy. One day after not driving for a week maybe (before the bypass), I tried turning the key like 5 or 10 times, car would not start. After doing the bypass, another week had gone by by then and the car started on first try with no problem. Of course i also didnt have to have my foot on the clutch too. Yesterday though i did have to turn the key like twice before it would turn on, i would get a single click on each key turn, no crank. I think that might be my starter but the clutch switch bypass seems to have helped at least part of the issue.
Had a new ND1 Miata about 1998 and loved it. Then later got married, kids, etc and couldn't be selfish anymore and have a 2 seater. :) Now I'm at a stage of life where I could get one again.
Come back home!
Same with motorcycles on the street... its more fun to ride a slow bike fast, vs a fast bike slow.
Everyone wants a Ducati Panigale V4R but you can’t even use half its power on the street😮
As a 23 RF GT owner, I agree on basically all points. Also, the GT is the superior model to the Club. All the "auto" and adaptive features are really useful in the day to day. My first and only mod was a louder exhaust since the stock exhaust is impossible to hear. I found myself banging off the rev limiter if I wasn't staring at the tach since I simply couldn't hear the engine well enough. I've found that I get more comments from passerby about the Miata than any of my past cars. It just draws a happy crowd even if it happens to be random suburban moms sometimes. Anyways, happy driving and enjoy the car!
Just picked up a 1997 NA. It's a blast to drive. I've always been into corvettes. I have an 04 coup. Love the vette but this Miata is a whole different driving experience. Driving the vette slow is fun. Driving the Miata fast is a blast! Love the 5 speed.
Man I think this is the most fun I've ever seen you have in a car Que lol you was giggling and everything! 😆 This video only reinforces that I wish Mazda made this car bigger so I could own one, Mazda is my favorite brand and it sucks that I can't fit into one of their best vehicles. Have a little extra fun in the Miata for all of your homies like me that will never get the opportunity to drive one ☹
Man this is kinda sad. I’ll have fun for the vertically gifted. Hopefully they make an RX9 that you can fit in
@@QueTheChaotic That would be dope I hope they make the RX9 manual gearbox with a great gas motor.
Try a BRZ? Less fun more practical
@@FATmenDRIVEtrucks Yup I just might.
Hey man, idk how tall you are, but I'm 6'1 and I fit into an nc3 Miata easily and it's so fun to drive.
Amateur drivers get a fast car. Experienced drivers get a Mazda Miata. 🙂
Really enjoy you're Miata videos. Great job. Thanks.
Much appreciated. Thanks for watching!
I think most people are starting to realize how fun and economical these lightweight sports cars are. Not that it was a secret… but it’s becoming more mainstream if that makes sense. We are heading towards a lightweight sports car era revival with the gen miata/rx7, hyprid Honda Prelude, Toyota SFR and Toyota’s next 86 might get a turbo engine. Im praying NISSAN joins the party soon with a new Silvia…
I like the fact that you have tasted gr corolla, gr 86, and you landed on miata. Gr 86 is really nice but at 7200 bucks im in a 173 whp turbo 1991 Miata. With coil overs and no rust. Its like they say: miata is always the answer. Cool car!
Just found out about you on the Tophers channel. Subbed, looking forward to your Miata journey! Enjoy and be safe 🙏🏼
Thanks for the sub! More to come. You be safe as well
Brother had a cargasm at the end when in ecstasy he said Miata more fun than his fave M2 Comp❤😂. Miata is always the Answer, unless you are over 6ft lol
😆😆😆
An ND is something I will definitely get in the future. Sat in one at the dealership and fit perfectly in one. Soon!
Yes!
Went from Audi S4 with active suspension, active torque vectoring diffs and a supercharged 6 to a MX-5 Miata. In fact, a ND1 and then traded that for a ND2. The Audi could go faster, and take my parents out to dinner. However, the Miata is so much more fun to drive.
Man I really enjoyed this video. In this video I like your advocacy of manual transmissions! I also liked your comment about not worrying about the “numbers “ (I assume 0-60, hp, torque). I couldn’t agree with you more. At my age, a Miata could be a little small for me, but you got me interested in a test drive. Keep enjoying your car…
Try it and let me know how you like it. Thanks a lot
I’ve been lucky enough to have had an SS 1LE, an Audi TTRS, three M2s (a 2018 LCI with M performance exhaust, coilovers and a stage 2 tune, as well as a DCT and a manual M2 Comp), an Integra Type S and now a ‘24 CTR. So far the 2018 M2 was my favorite. But I’ve always loved the thought of having an ND RF, if I had the space for it. Congrats man, the car looks like a ton of fun. I’d love to eventually hear your thoughts on how the driving experience and the inputs (esp. shifter) compares between the Miata and your ITS. Can’t wait for more content. Keep up the great work.
You’ve had an awesome lineup. We have similar tastes. Thanks a lot. I’ll do a comparo once I get more seat time. I have a CTR that I’m comparing to my ITS. That video will release tomorrow
Riiiiiidiclously close to the same path I am on. I went from an M2 Competition to an ND2 and haven’t looked back. Very rarely I am on the highway and a much higher horsepower car messes with me in my Miata and makes me miss my M2 but other than that, I smile all the time driving my Miata and don’t miss the M2
Enlightenment can occur at any moment…Miata Is Always The Answer.
You're right at home with that miata - love the review and smiles and welcome to the club!
Been following your channel when you got the GRC, the regular Integra, and the Integra Type S with my 2020 ND2. I have a 1 year old but can't see what car I would trade my miata for.
Plan to keep it forever and add any 4 door car/suv in future, the ITS would be my dream car to add. Just got wife a NX350 for family duties.
Thanks a lot! The Integra is hard to beat for a 4 door (for me at least)
Man I feel you on higher HP cars being too much for the street. I got Kia Stinger GT, which isn't even as fast as a modern day muscle car. But I just don't want/see me needing anymore power. I am already at hella illegal speeds after stomping on the gas for a few seconds. What will more speed do for me in ths street?
I came from a 2019 V6 Camaro, and you know what? That car was dope for the street. I also loved how it revved to 7k RPM.
Thats what I want for a fun car now days. Something that can rev high and still stay within relatively legal speeds around town.
If I had the extra garage space I would seriously consider a Miata when my Stinger is paid off.
Congrats on the purchase, awesome to see you enjoying it.
Thanks a lot. I really like the Stinger. Sad they went out of production for such a great car. I would love a V6 Camaro to flog around. Especially the 1LE
I’ve watched a few of your videos driving different cars. None of ‘em made you smile like that Miata.
This is true
Got my 2024 Homra RF in soul red yesterday.I love it.
Congrats!
This is what I need for daily driving in California. Need a car that responsive and easy to get around people. Plus lightweight. Keep enjoying bro! I can tell you’re not exaggerating the story. Your video speak for itself.
🙏🏾thanks a lot
Great vid! I hope to have mine by next summer.
My 2024 is absolutely the best. A massive thanks to Mazda for keeping this a true roadster. Nothing else even competes in the same price range.good review by the way.
My fiance has an RF. Cool little car. Wish I fit in it better.
Most fun car I ever drove was a 1979 MGB. Little roadsters are fun as hell.
I have a 2016 Camaro 2SS, 6MT and while I don't have a reason to get rid of it, if I ever did (and my lifestyle could still accommodate a fun car) an MX-5 or BRZ would quickly find its way to the top of my list.

Hi Que, I’m a new subscriber and it’s fantastic to witness the joy your new ND3 is bringing. Safe travels.
Thanks for subscribing! It’s so much fun. I’m glad to have one. Be safe
sup que, welcome to miata life! just wait until you're really comfortable with it. ripping backroads, its so nimble, fun, and confident!
These are little drift machines. Just go kick the clutch real quick on a rainy day with all traction control off - so fun, and you're never even going fast
That's gonna be so fun. I can't wait
Dropped the s550 Mustang GT for the ND2 RF, no regrets at all. Most fun car I've ever driven!
I currently own a Mustang GT 2019 but I’m afraid I will regret it if I change it for an mx5
@@nozopoke1782 honestly, the mustang is the better vehicle if you can only own 1 car. Its much more convenient and larger for the day to day thing. I would highly recommend testing driving an mx5; the steering, lightness, and agility of this platform makes even the most mundane driving chore a pleasure!
Had a 2019 Sport sold it to try a couple different cars now I’m back in a 2023 ! Found a good deal on a leftover Grand Touring model . Perfect car for me , nothing else compares.
You can wring these out without hitting arrest me speeds. Many times I’ll be tossing it around having a great time look down and I’m right around the speed limit 😄
These are pretty good right out of the box. The only thing I had to do on both is an axle back exhaust. Stock is way too quiet! A Borla on the first and a Goodwin racing race exhaust on the 2023. Both have great sound the Goodwin was a lot cheaper and less drone on the highway. I also think it handles great stock , it’s designed to have some body roll and coming from a lowered Fiesta ST I’m really enjoying the smoother ride and not having to slow to a near stop for speed bumps and parking lot entrances!
Good luck with it!🍀
Great review. Makes me want to buy one. Always wanted a two seater......but never had one to date. I'm 72, so there probably isn't much time left to own one. Maybe I should pull the trigger and get one.
Just do it and enjoy it for the next 50 years!
Great video, just came across it! Have the same color coming my way
I agree about the HP thing. I had a new WRX and I ended trading in for a Acura Integra (which is less power) but to me the Integra was more fun than the WRX for my taste... Btw I had the 2019 ND2 and it is really fun to drive.. I sold it to get the WRX 😂. Years later.. regrets lol
Lol it happens
I can't wait to get a ND3, but I recently bought a new truck, so I need to wait til that's paid off in 2026. The Miata is the best sports car value available, hands down.
I agree, the horsepower wars have gotten tiresome. And everything has a sophisticated automatic transmission these days, so who gives a shit if you beat the other guy? All they did was let their foot off their brake a little quicker and/or they had more HP. Yawn. The Miata is one of the purest driving experiences left on the market and continues to be the lightest product car south of six figures.
Too many car enthusiasts, particularly young MALE car enthusiasts in America, have all their ego and identity wrapped up in how masculine their car is. I think we've all been there at some point I suppose. Some of us just grow up a bit.
Drive what you like, but learn to appreciate the wide variety of options we have on the market right now. Enjoy it as much as you can, because before long, everything is going to be an EV with an artificial engine sound coming from a speaker.
Been driving Miata's as a dalily driver since 2003. Drove a 96 and a '99. And yes I'm going for an ND next. I've had the priviledge of learning the car in and out ever since. I'm going for a Club model.
That’s dope!
Glad to see you enjoying a Miata. I own a S2000. That is the least powerful car I own-I own a manual CTS-V wagon and a twin-turbo old NSX, both super fast. The S2000 I can floor in 1st and 2nd gear without risking a ticket, and its handling is amazing. I totally understand where you are coming from.
That CTS V Wagon is a dream car of mine
I want this car! Saving and shopping for the best deal. I can’t wait ❤
@@clarissarodarte7851 🙌🏾
I had a 2016 Chevy Camaro SS got rid of it, then got a MX5 2021 RF fun car
Nice!
Great video! Appreciate your info and opinions on the new Miata. I’ve been looking at them for a while but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Thanks a lot.
i have both a ND miata and a Mach 1 mustang so i get th ebest of both worlds. love the miata for tosability in the real world, doing random power slides and donuts on the street and just going all out and still not doing ridiculous speeds. but then when i need some speed i go in the mach 1 but even then for where i live its to fast but more comfortable to daily
Bruh… I was heavily debating rather to get one today or not. This video comes out just now and confirmed my debate lol. I bought GRC last month and today Imma get mx5 😊.
😅 I’m just here to make the decision easier for you. Both are awesome machines.
@@QueTheChaotic Im getting new last one 23 in lot club white with brembo recaro pkg. OTD 34,125, which is -3750 off msrp. Couldn’t pass this Great deal.
I had a 2020 MX-5 which I traded in for a 2022 Camaro 2SS 1LE. Loved the Miata but I wanted to experience a manual V8. While the Camaro is great I'm going back to a MX-5. Like you said, I've found that I don't really care much about power, especially when it's so much that I can never really experience it on public roads. I've found that I really have to be going at "going to jail" speeds to really start to feel anything in the Camaro because it is so fast and so capable. The Miata was more fun, more of the time, which is what I'm looking for in my weekend toy. Ordered a 2024 MX-5 at the end of January and it should arrive at the dealership this week.
I'm glad someone else feels like me. Congratulations! The 2SS 1LE is the best Camaro IMO
Looks great, mate. Enjoy.
Thank you
10:43 Looks like you're driving on the surface of the moon. 🤣
😆😆😆 my camera couldn’t take it lol
MX5 is the best . I traded it in my mustang GT. BECAUSE it’s fast 0-40 , FUN LIKE a GO CART ( like a 12 year old ) it’s hard to explain the excitement ; 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🇺🇸
I feel you man
I feel like the GRC either needs to be more practical or more playful - it ends up in a weird spot where it can’t be a good only car but also isn’t fun enough to be a second car.
ND3 Miata seems like a car to buy and keep forever. Who knows if there will ever be a production car like this again!
You said it perfectly
Miata's are best for long family vacations with all the kids, etc. No wait... ;)
Congratulations! This will serve you as a reliable and economical source of fun!
Absolutely
Just bought a 2024 club in the same sand color absolutely love it
RF or soft top? Congrats
@@QueTheChaotic I got the soft top. Had an RF before which was great but this time I wanted the full top down experience the soft top comes with.
@@Matty0923 I feel you on that 😎
I put a GWR muffler on mine, and I miss hearing the roar from the engine when in high rpms. Exhaust sounds way better, but that engine sounds super good from the factory.
I have the GWR now. I just need it installed. The engine does sound good
Really enjoyed this video. Not too professional and not too casual either.
Stock exhaust doesn’t sound that bad to me. Summer tires will take away the fun. Being on rails is boring on public roads.
That’s exactly how I feel. I won’t be upgrading the tires unless it’s for the track exclusively. It didn’t sound bad at all in this video. I normally don’t hear it with the music on
Love your Miata videos, just subscribed 👌 Happy for you buying this car. I’m about to order as well, but can’t decide if I should go for the Aero grey or Soul red 🤔 Help appreciated 😂
I appreciate you. Soul red looks so good up close. It can be bright and a deeper red. It really shows the likes off. I need to see aero gray in person.
fuck yeah bro! i love mazdas for their interiors and their driving dynamics
i love mazda for fighting against the cvt, big touchscreen, soft ride trends
Wait I didnt know the side there nearly in the footwell was padded (i thought it was just the stitched console which isn't really padded). Yeah my ND1 needs that, I can literally buy that piece on its own and replace it easily. This is exciting!
I am so glad you did the comparison of the soft top and hard top Miata. Based on your video we are planning to get the hard top RF GT in Canada. Would you recommend getting the full wheel, brembo brakes and leather seats to have all the features or not? Thank you
If possible I would go for all the features
This is why I own a Porsche Boxster. Driving a slow car (300HP in my case) fast is a lot more fun than driving a fast car slow. Buying HP is a fools game, which Ive played myself..LOL! But, seriously all you're gonna do with 500HP is have your fun quicker. I want mine to last a little bit.
Awesome! Miatas are just perfect!
Mustang, Camaro, my favourite cars. Love the review. I think the Miata may be the most fun? Thanks.
I think I'll have the most fun with the Miata
Cheers man, such a fun car. Not to mention, great on gas too!
All excellent points. New sub here. Cheers.
Thanks and welcome aboard
Cool Video, Did you ever drive a Cayman GT4?
Not yet. I want to
SoGreat real review of your car. I owned a 90, 92 autocross Miata , and the one I should have kept. A 93Le. Sold the LE in 2015 and went to a mustang gt which I modded to go faster and handle better. Traded it in for a 19 mustang Bullitt. The Bullitt has an h pipe , and Ford racing modified magnaride suspension. Handles for a 2 ton car. Loud, and fast on the corners. Just big, and heavy.
Been thinking of selling it to go back to a Miata. Light, and small . I have good Twisties 30 min from my house.
The thing I noticed is that the stock ND rolls around corners like a drunk sailor. Way too much body roll to be fun for me. I wonder what people are doing to fix this? I think the stock bilstiens are fine. Need travel a, and some comfort . A bigger set of sway bars? Any thoughts?
My 90 had sway bars, and kyb adjustable shocks. The 92 had 300/200 springs on adjustable perches, with bilstiens, and bigger sways for autocross.
The 93 Le had soft fcm bump stops, and sways. Still had the OEM bilstiens on it at 118000 miles.
The question is, how to make a new Miata not roll around?
Again, thanks for the reviews
Thanks for watching. The sway will mitigate the roll
My favorite dream car is the Viper too! since I was 8 years old.
Such a cool car in every iteration.

Torn between ND3 Miata or BRZ/86. I currently have a NB1 Miata and I love that thing but I want to get a modern manual RWD car.
Miata would be more fun than the twins but the twins are definitely more practical
The twins are definitely more practical. I prefer the engine of the Miata though
@@QueTheChaotic yeah engine seems a lot better. Sounds pretty good and less reliability issues than the twins
I purchased the 2023 RF in Oct ....I'm a 52 yr old female. I need to learn to do that donut thing...lololol....This Car gets up....guys always trying to race me...leave me alone!!!...don't you see I'm a gray headed lady just enjoying life ....I have beat a few ....I believe I would win if I would go over the speed limit.....haha
Lol! That's what it's all about, having fun. I would get annoyed by people trying to race
Like your car color and the wheel design. Are the wheels aftermarket or did they come on the car?
Those are stock
My DSC off button doesn't need to be held and doesn't make a sound (my passenger won't know). Considering this short wheelbase, that is chaotic from Mazda
Did you get PPF? I want to get a Miata soft top, I hear the paint is really thin and was wondering if I should budget for PPF.
I didn't get PPF. It just costs too much for me. I would consider the front bumper
Another nice video!
🙏🏾
I love my Mazda 3 but when I’m 30 I’m buying a mx5 manual transmission even though I don’t know how to drive manual
It's easy and fun to learn. Just gotta practice
Nice car, best of luck with it
Thanks a lot
Respect.
I was wondering why your tag said Gazoo. I like the Miata but I needed more room and I am not a drop top person so I got me a GR86
I feel that. My kids can’t even fit in the 86 anymore. I went all the way impractical
I traded in a Nissan 370Z sport/touring for a 2023 Mazda Miata RF GT. A guy I work with asked why I traded a 370z for a Miata. I told him I thought Miata drove much better than the 370Z. He had a shocked look on his face.
Most won't get it
Great content
What's the trick to renting a specific car to try out?
I had to build an audience based around reviews to get them
@@QueTheChaotic Aww got you 👍👍
The pain in your voice lol. “It wouldn’t let me be great”. 12:53
😅
Nice!
Any particular reason for trading the GRC?
The Mazda makes some fun cars
No reason in particular. I really enjoyed it. If it were just a little bigger, I would have kept it and sold the Integra. It’ was a secondary car that was too practical. The Miata will bring on more fun. I had more equity in it as well.
@@QueTheChaotic cool, you're definitely enjoying the Miata. Thnx
My GRC should be here in a couple of weeks.
What is the speaker off button next to the traction control off track button?
I think it may turn off the park aid sound
How tall are you? Do you find it cramped and uncomfortable on longer drives?
I’m 5’11”. It’s not cramped but it’s not much extra space either. It’s not bad. I haven’t taken it on a drive longer than an hour yet
I’m still lucky enough to have two 6.2 ltr V8’s, but there in a 8 tonne 37 foot boat, and sound beautiful with a wet exhaust Where they belong, lot’s of weight lots of drag. That’s where big engines belong. Not needed in a lightweight roadster 😂
Lol
Yes
Outside
How does the handling and ride compare to the Porsche Cayman Boxster?
I’m gonna try to drive them back to back soon. The Cayman I drove felt extremely agile. Probably from the mid engine setup
At this point, I believe it will be of benefit to you, spending money on a proper racing school. And a rally one, too. Fine tune your driving.
Absolutely. That would be very beneficial
Which one do you prefer, soft or hard top?
I mean why soft top
Mainly for the top down experience. It’s a coin toss for me though. Price played a big factor. I do like the looks of the RF more though.
