My Ahyoka almost died when she was not quiet a year old. I was throwing her a ball, bouncing it and she would jump up and catch the ball off the bounce.
I bounced the ball, Ahyoka jumps and caught it. Stopped and made a weird noise and fell over.
I ran to her and the ball was laying next to her, she wasn't breathing.
I opened her mouth, and a plug from the ball was lodged in her throat.
I picked her up, leaned her back into my lap, got my index finger and thumb on it, and basically gave Hamlet maneuver while tugging in the plug. It popped out and Ahyoka was unconscious.
A puff on her snoot and she was up and normal.
It scared me to death!
So yes it happens, and you need to supervise the fur babies!

That sounds like such a scary incident but we are so glad she is OK! The chuck it ball has no plugs or other pieces, and air can get through it. So if it does get lodged in, it's easy to remove.
