Nino Miguel was uncle of Tomatito. Sadly, soon after his amazing start as a profoundly talented guitarist, he developod schizophrenia and later ended up as a homeless guy and drugs.. roaming streets of Huelva, occasionally playing on a beat-up cheap valencia guitar with few remaining strings... Had a short revival shortly before he passed away, but his playing was no longer what it used to be. There is a documentary about him. Many people tried to help him, but it was difficult and he had his own ideas how he wanted to live...
Paco once said that following a Flamenca guitar festival where there was also El Nino Miguel, after the show, the two of them played alone in a hotel room all night. Paco said of Miguel that he had breathtaking technique and that sometimes he was even superior to him! I don't know if you know this but Paco and Miguel, for a very long time, didn't know how to read musical notes...
Back in 70's RIP maestro Paco de Lucía once said “right now in the world of guitar, Niño Miguel is the only one who is able to shadow me”. late 60's i've heard maestro Nino on radio, never knew who he was untill 30-35 years later while having discussion with a friend and flamenco player i've heard his name. Back home looked everywhere and i found out why did maestro Paco made that statement. Nuff said.🤘
El Nino Miguel. One of the great flamenco maestro mysteries. Virtuoso who had everything going for him and then he just fell off the scene. There's a great documentary on him and UA-cam auto translates the audio. See "La Sombra de Las cuerdas. Un documental de "El Nino Miguel ". Peace my friend.
I would also recommend a recent discovery for me Jose Fermin Fernandez. There is a great video of him playing one of Miguel's farrucas. ua-cam.com/video/65XbmcoCgzU/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
What a fantastic find! Have to check out more by him. Meanwhile you might want to check out the trio that made Paco de Lucia a world star over night - with Al di Meola and John McLaughlin. There's a nice more recent recording in Modena on YT

Thats very interesting! I guess I could make some assumptions as to why but either way they are both inspirational musical geniuses that I have been enjoying learning about!!!
Desgraciadamente, la vida se le torcio y acabo tocando por la calle pidiendo monedas, tocaba a veces con la mitad de las cuerdas rotas y aun asi sonaba de maravilla, la vida no le trato bien.
I can only imagine!!! I have found that listening and watching him is very addictive! I'am loving the journey learning about him and Flamenco in general!

Great musician!Shamefully after military service he run through mental illness and addictions and lived like a bum for many years. There are some videos taken from bar costumers where this man plays for tips in a bar with a guitar lacking two or three strings and still sounds better than many guitarists wuold having all six.He was rescued from the streets some years before he died and played really good music.
Miguel was the uncle of Tomatito, the guitarist who accompanied Camaron after him and Paco followed their own careers.Tomatito is another monster guitar man.He has recorded with jazz pianist Michel Camilo and even George Benson collaborated in one of his recordings@@TheKillogicEffect

Niño Miguel. Otro grande y también referente del Flamenco actual.
His strumming technique alone leaves you in awe!!! The way he does the triple and quadruple hits are amazing!!!

Pues si lo hubiérais visto en sus últimos años. Tocaba la guitarra con 3 cuerdas, porque no tenía para más, y aún así sacaba maravillas
