Marketplace plans, in general, will not cover weight loss meds UNLESS there is another need for meds. ie: diabetes But this is not 100%. What is your zip code? We can see if there is anything available.
Is it possible to apply for an insurance plan as a person of age in 30 and who is under non-immigrant F2 dependant visa.? I have seen that category is eligible but not sure how to apply because no income or SSN is available for that visa category. Thank you for the informative video.
hi there.. thank you sooooo much for your informative videos.. :) here goes our situation.. we are foreigners arriving to us on 19th january.. we will have work permit by the day we arrive.. so we will probably be eliglible for marketplace.. question: do we need to apply for marketplace untill january 15th? (we are first time arriving to us on 19th) or just because of these 4 days, maybe we will not be eligible for marketplace?
Relocating (moving) would make you eligible for a special enrollment period. So, no need to worry! You can start looking at the plans now and enroll once you move. Feel free to call with any questions: 888-410-0344. Safe travels!
For the tax credit you mentioned it is like a prepaid discount on the monthly premium and that you must qualify for it. Does that money ever have to be paid back? Like, i have 1000 off my premium, then come tax season (assuming i was correct on estimating my income) i wont have to pay any of that back? I apologize if its a dumb question lol i just don't want to be burned
I need an answer to this question so badly. I feel like I could not understand how the tax credit works. And I'm afraid they will make me pay back for it or take it from my tax refund
How does tax credits work? Just say i have a tax credit of over 1000 bucks per month. Can I sign on and expect for the tax credit to pay the bill or do I need to make the 1st payment to get the ball rolling? How does this work? Thanks for sharing!
When you apply, if you are eligible for a premium tax credit, the discount should be automatically applied! You'll see the original price, your discount, and the amount you'll owe when you compare plans. You only have to pay the amount you owe. Thanks for your question!
Since, I just got approved for SSD and denied of SSI, Medicaid and Badgercare Plus in my state. I did all the application steps and I qualify for the Special Enrollment period due to critical illness (life event). My tax credit is up to $775 and I saw in the comment that it didn't reflect the tax credit on that individual's plan? And what about pre-existing condition? I saw a Silver plan and the monthly premium is around $776 and some change. Do I pay that $776 monthly premium? So, where is this low-cost monthly premium that is being advertised? I was also considering cancer insurance. Also are you a legitimate agent/representative? This video does clarify some confusion of enrolling for healthcare and my first time navigating this system since I'm no longer employed and lost health insurance in December 1, 2023.
After you put in your information, the premiums you see should reflect your discounted monthly premium if you are eligible for a premium tax credit. However, we did actually answer another UA-cam question where someone indicated they were not seeing the savings reflected when comparing. We are linseed health insurance brokers, so if you are having any issues, please feel free to call: 888-410-0344. There is no charge for our services.
Your premium should automatically reflect the discount with the premium tax credit. Check out 8:57 You'll see it says "75.09/month" in big letters and beneath that it says "including a $1148 tax credit". Does your screen show something similar? (different numbers of course)
is the deducatible only for 12 months ? suppposed you have a deductible of 18000, and during the 12 month you paid 6000 and the next year (renewal) will it start over if you stay in the same plan?
Great question! Your employer contributions to your HRA? No, that doesn't need to be included. MAGI is a common point of confusion for a lot of people!
Great question! Marketplace plans will offer coverage for out of network services only in a "true medical emergency" (so something that a layman would definitely visit the ER for). For anything else, it needs to be in network to be covered (if you are on an HMO or EPO). If you are on a PPO plan, then you have coverage in and out of network. I hope that helps!
Definitely! You have until Jan. 15 (in most states) but make sure to apply by Dec. 15 if you want your coverage to begin in January. Feel free to call with any questions- there is no charge for our services: 888-410-0344.
Really appreciate these videos. It seems if you’re in between jobs or have no income as an individual - it defaults you to Medicaid? Is there a way to bypass this and get any type of credit or discount on insurance plans? Would I have to search any differently when seeking a plan of speaking with a broker? It seems more expensive when unemployed. Can you please do a video showing this? Similarly, I do not want to renew with my previous insurance company going forward. How would I cancel? Thanks.
Yes, that's frustrating. You will always "qualify" for a marketplace plan. If you make "too little" it does prompt you towards Medicaid, but if you estimate your income a little higher, you should be fine. There is no penalty for overestimating. If you are having difficulty, I would definitely contact a broker. As far as canceling, is your current plan a marketplace plan?
Absolutely. We help the unhoused on a regular basis. Please feel free to call us at 888-410-0344 and we can help you enroll. There is absolutely no charge for our services. Thank you for your question!
What happens if you need health insurance starting in June do you have to wait until January?
Do you mean you'll lose your health insurance in June? If so, you would qualify for a special enrollment period.
@@iHealthBrokers thank you, yes my wife is leaving her job and we won't have insurance available to us from employer, we are retiring early

Not a dumb question at all. As long as you don't end up making more money than estimated in your application, you shouldn't have to pay that back!

When filling out the application, for income should I estimate what my MAGI will be or not?
Yes, definitely. Estimate your MAGI to the best of your ability. If anything changes, make sure to update your info. Thanks for your question!

Exactly so. Your deductible will reset with the new plan year. Thank you for your question!
I'm retired from my former job and the company offers an HRA for retirees, should I include It in my MAGI estimate?
Great question! Your employer contributions to your HRA? No, that doesn't need to be included. MAGI is a common point of confusion for a lot of people!
