I think that the timing of this movie was in synchronicity to some interesting conversations happening in Maastrict, Belgium, and the birth of a united Europe. Porbably my favourite trilogy.
The Criterion upgrade just came out....However, I am going for the Curzon release in March. That one has far more extras, with Criterion adding NOTHING new to their BD release. Criterion needs to start improving the release when they do 4K upgrades. Even during the 50 percent off sale, this would be $62.5 for a minor upgrade in quality and no new features.
Inaccurate color reproduction can get to me but I love the grain. For me, it brings a tactile sense of life. Either way, I'm glad his work is getting out there more and more.
but it gives a certain feel sometimes, like in movies like its a wonderful life, alien, vertigo, and more. it keeps the cinematic feel in a lot of movies and the vintage feel too. Same with 4k die hard and stuff
I'm kind of getting 'World of Wong Kar-Wai' colour correction vibes. I wouldn't say it looks like shit, but it's not exactly how I remember it, and does take a bit of an adjustment to get used to in some instances. I saw a screening of Blue last night, and it was still excellent.
let’s fuckin goooooo
in the middle of Dekalog currently and loving it

and Godard.
I just want to know if there is an English dub on the dvd
boooooo dubbed is terrible
Is it really going to be this grainy? The grain kills me in some of these 4K movies, even though it's supposedly a good thing.
Better than DNR.

This "restoration" looks like shit. The Criterion Blu's not covered in a yellow tint where everyone looks jaundiced will do for me.
this is what the films are actually supposed to look like. The Criterion blurays werent properly colored.
It's interesting that nobody who saw them in the theater remembers any of this tint. It's revisionist work even if the DP made the decision.
@@jexes23 I saw a 35mm print of blue and white and they looked just like this.
