Skull and Bones is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Singapore and published by Ubisoft. The game is set to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. I love the beginning when you’re in the little sloop ship and you sail through the wreckage of that huge warship. The scale is impressive and immediately gets you excited to eventually upgrade to a ship of that caliber

A lot of people say this game was inspired by black flag (my fav AC game) which is cool because being on the Jackdaw was one of the coolest experiences I had as a kid. Hope the ship combat is done well.

You can’t explore islands on foot, there’s no hand to hand combat, & the ship fires it’s cannon like a World War I machine gun…
I feel like that would be stupidly hard to make unless you have most of the islands just be massive rocks with trees on top like black flag I think this game will be good

@@michaelweston409 bro sea of thevies is small and huge gaps between pretty much the same islands and black flag the islands were half the time a massive rock with trees on top you could only go to a few parts while the rest is just cliffs this game is gonna have the islands look like islands who cares that you can’t walk on some random fucking island it’s a ship game not fucking sea of thevies plus I reckon you will be able to go to many places you can walk on islands just not every single one like do you even remember black flag I played it today and most of the islands are very small and just sand or a cliff island with trees on top that you can’t go on at all

I played this on the last closed beta they did, doesn't seem like much has been changed since but from what I played the game was really good! I'm excited to see what they do with the full game.

@@BlueDragon-gv3ky In AC4 Black Flag you can freely get off your ship and explore islands. You can swing from a rope and board enemy ships. Theres melee combat.
You cannot do this in Skull and Bones.

I would luv to have your job Brad, but it's your warm and caring personality that holds your viewers game after game.
Would like to see swimming and freely boarding/exiting the ship/not always having to just steer when on the water. It’s a bit jarring getting a black screen everytime you leave and enter the ship. Also walking freely on your ship to talk to crew/go swimming/entering the captains quarters would be cool to change outfits and look at your collectibles and maps and things.
Also would have been cool to bring back the ship boarding from black flag with some sort of gun/sword style of combat instead of just instantly looting anything

I have been waiting for this for a long time. Avoided other walkthrough videos because I wanted to watch Brad playing this. Now it is almost 9 years since I discovered brad (started with Ryse Son of Rome).

Graphics are cool and the ship battles look fun. Sucks you can't leave the ship tho, i was hoping it would be a bit like Sea of Thieves where you can board other ships and fight with swords and guns, but it's sad to see the naval battles are solely done with ships.

I've never been more disappointed on a game direction than skull n bones, I had so much hype for the direction of this game when they first announced it and over the years of set backs and no real direction it has progressively just gotten worse. I'm hoping that the gameplay is at least solid, but ubisoft has not been able to deliver on that front in a while
Ubisoft is so bad bro. Just a bland gray corporation dedicated solely to pump out games with as little heart and soul as possible to pump out the biggest amount of money possible. Such a shame, they could be so much better. At least halo is fun now

I wrote my practice history thesis on romanticism in the age of piracy, and my full undergrad thesis on Barbary pirates, so this game’s content feels like it is in my very bones.

No, ubisoft did listen to the community that's why the game has been delayed so much. If they didn't listen to the community the game would have came out in 2017.

@@vattghern7592 it's simple they just couldn't do it with what they had made in 2017 which was partially rebooted to try to meet players expectations. As we all know it was just supposed to be an overwatch style multiplayer game now it has become an mmo. Who knows maybe in future they can figure out a way to implement it or even make a ground up sequel to do that.

Things I'm missing so far to make this a must play for me
Walking around the ship, dismounting and swimming to shore/swimming to the shop/taking a small dingy to and from the ship.
Gathering by hand in person instead of doing it as a QTE on the ship close to shore.

I think they need to add a hand to hand combat aspect to this. Something where you could hook an enemy ship, board it, kill whoever you want and take the ship for your fleet. Maybe leave some survivors to crew the ship? I don’t know. The game definitely looks promising. Cool to have another pirate game finally. I just think adding some hand to hand combat would add a whole new layer of depth to the game
Well seeing as this game started out in development as a standalone pirate game based off of AC Black Flag... yes it should've definitely had melee combat and island exploration.

The game is bad. That simple. It doesn't look great, and the mechanics don't have any appeal. The game is supposed to be open world but, it seems very restrictive. You can't swim to your ship, and jump off it. Haven't seen any combat on the ship. It is a pirate game without anything that people want. They did not even include features they already had for Blackflag. You can see why it was remade for ever, why a lot of people quit on it. It is a soulless game.

You should at least have to dock the boat or anchor and actually go up to the trees and saw them. One of the worst games to come out in a long time, and that's saying something with the garbage that has been released over the past few years with few exceptions. There is zero reason for any of the character customization, or really any of the off-ship gameplay (if you can even call it "gameplay"). This could be a novelty pirateship sim game that costs $19, but they're trying to market it as a full game. They took one good aspect of AC Black Flag, stripped everything else outside of ship-based combat, and added nothing else. The worst part is, people are allowing these game studios to get away with this garbage by justifying it somehow. Stop lying to yourself. It's 2024 and this is supposed to be next-gen gaming. As consumers, we should be expecting quality games like Hogwarts Legacy and Bulder's Gate III. Not this add-on trash that tries to mimic a full scale game. The fact that games like this have the same pricetag as actual blockbuster games is a tragedy. Yet, somehow someway, there are people that will defend it.

The game looks great, if a little clunky at times - the disembark black screen; cutting down trees from the ship! Stepping on and off the ship could/should be in the game. Can't wait to follow this series all the same.
Are there wind conditions in the game? Or does the sail ship just sail whatever? I hope there's stuff like shooting grapeshot kill crew or shooting chains to damage rigging and slow ships down.
