Visit to Machu Picchu, Peru

Machu Picchu, one of the “Seven Wonders,” is an amazing city nestled high in the Andes. Our guide, Ulysses, was knowledgeable and funny, explaining how classicism was present even in Incan times. He discussed the science and innovation of the Incan culture and taught us about the ritual sacrifices of animals and people. He also explained how women were highly valued and traded to maintain peace with neighboring nations. While some say Machu Picchu was a city, others believe it was a school or a scientific post for studying the stars. As we walked up, down, in, out, and around the city, we marveled at its beauty and precision. What we can all agree on is that it is truly a wonder! God is Amazing! Oh! One more thing! The Inkas worship the sun, it’s important to them.
