Wow that’s inspiring….
I’m stuck at the bottom rung. I’ve been at the bottom rung forever. I have absolutely no idea how to climb and it’s nothing to do with “lack of commitment”.
Some people just have the ability to to risk everything but as a guy with a family who has worked every day I was able, I’ve never had any ability or inclination to take a risk and definitely not a big one.
I hate these rich people who think it’s easy to take a risk because from where they are, there is no longer any risk. I wanted to have a bike shop, but I just couldn’t justify the “quit your job and follow your dream” attitude because I still needed to put food on the table and keep a roof over my family’s heads.
There must be something more, some little trick or knack that these “just quit your job” types know that they’re not passing along because I’m not seeing the link and it sucks down here.
Yeah , its a little different when you have an Honest Commitment to pay the bills , feed the kids , to not fualt on Any Obligations and be at a 60hr week job that just barely does covers that ...
When your Not at Risk of Loosing it All , not wanting to put in jeopardy what you've busted your ass for , for 10 - 15 yrs .. its a different story .
I take no handouts ... i work hard for what i have , but damn ... to get ahead , to be able to put enough money aside , so you can start having that money work for you ... its friggin hard when everything keeps going up in price ... raises no longer keep up with inflation... hell , just my health insurance went up more than my raise let alone Every other aspect of day to day living .
This country is so Divided.. the rich keep getting richer and poor keep getting poorer...

So right, I get my cash flow up to a certain point and it’s hard to get over that plateau and then when it gets back down to a certain point I build it back up to where it was. I’m probably coasting. If it was low all the time I’d be doing more deals.

This is excellent business advice
I disagree with a lot that he says. He’s very heavily leveraged. With one major hit he had to let half his staff go. With over a billion in assets this should not have happened. Cash flow is King and he subscribes to the mantra of trying to outrun the train as the train is speeding at him 1000mph. Either his organization is not properly organized or he’s buying these properties too high. Either way any blip in anything will spell disaster.
People listen you need cash to live and for a rainy day. I’m sure if he has enough cash he would have paid his employees instead of firing them in this case being broke didn’t work out for him and his staff very well. .GC has really subscribed to using others peoples money. He does not have the credit to buy this much without other people’s money. Keep your money in the stock market diversified. The rate of return is higher and you can go liquid very quickly. When you invest with GC you can’t get your money out unless he says so. You gotta give him credit though, GC is the ultimate hustler of hustlers.
I don't think he is worried about half of his employees...he kept the best 50% of them and got rid of the low performers. A wise business decision.
LeGoat Bryant the stock market has returned 10% per year since its inception. You don’t have to invest a lot to get into the stock market . Also you can sell your stock in a snap and go liquid on your terms. GC will pay you about 4% on a property that appreciates or can cash flow. You will always come on last and he will always be first. If you get in a financial bind you can’t sell the property like stock or your personal property. Speaking of cash flow he suspended payments for about 90 days. See he has the control not you. He’s hustling and using other peoples money to their detriment. We may have a housing crash next year. When those properties go negative equity it will be a disaster. I hope it doesn’t happen.

Grant knows the answers to the questions the people in his audience are asking but he is not going to give it to anyone believe me I even know some of the answers to some of the questions asked I am not going to give valuable information to anyone for free. There are no secrets. You need luck and a lot of hard work and the right decisions to make it.
When you help people and genuinely enjoy helping others, good things come back to you. Basic karma.
I didn't choose to go to $0, but after my first couple of failed ventures I ended up there with nowhere else to go, and I learned that it's true what Grant says.
I left a factory job to get into insurance sales and I spent thousands of dollars only to fail for 5 straight months, hustling but not selling a single product. (Or rather, I'd sell the product and then they'd cancel after the fact.) But then I found an agency that took me in under their wing and gave me a chance to build my own book of business within their agency and within my first two months I've sold over $50,000. When you go to $0, you either find a way, or you fail. It's that simple.

Chapter 7 was the best decision of my life. They took everything but my car. When it officially settled, I lost my job the very same day due to Covid. I said "well, the only way to go now is Up." I had literally no money and no liquadable assets. I'm back to making $3000MO and moving up. I plan to be making at least 50k by the end of the year. It's a very aggressive goal, but so is my hunger.

@Shawn Mortazevi had to take a lower paying job at a factory. Meanwhile, i applied for a many different positions in management and just landed a salary job as an Operations manager, which set me well beyond my initial goal! I'm back to investing in stock and Roth IRA. I've set a 5 yr goal to start businesses in Costa Rica with my fiancee and retire before I'm 50. It's much easier now that I'm debt free.
