Imagine being an engineer at BMW, creating great engines, suspension systems, drivetrains. Despite that, designers make this awful look for the car. I can't imagine their disappointment.

In real life its futuristic and the interrior is happy and cozy. For a premium family car its exellent!
The exterior design is honestly beyond hideous. You've mentioned the front grills on this car and the M3, but the M3/M4 grills are way better shaped. The interior is just OK and that's that. At this point, BMW are going bonkers with their designs and that really makes me sad when thinking of previous model designs such as the E60, the F10, the E39, E46, E38....

Yeah, when he drove ~225 and said that he didn't get all the power, you could actually read on the instruments, that it was only giving barely over 50% (somewhere between the 50% and 75% mark on the right)

@5:40 - you can see the window glass moving when you close the door. not a fan of frameless for this reason !
That's because glass is moving automatically down some mm, before the door opens. And up shortly after you shut the door. That's why it shakes. Nothing new for the frameless.

I agree that the 50 makes a lot of sense for most buyers. The one exception is if you intend to option up the 50 to the max. Once you option up a 50 to the point where it looks more like an M60, the range drops and the price difference is much smaller.
Not just wheels, either. The German configurator does a decent job of showing how the total range changes with different options added.
In Canada fully optioned xDrive 50 is 35k CAD less expensive than M60, only difference is launch control, somewhat quicker acceleration and unuseable 250 km/ vs 200 km/h topspeed.. love my xDrive 50 HEA with B&W 😊
The power output is temperature dependant. In the sport menu, you can see the cooling liquid’s temperature, above like 95 degrees it reduces the power. I read an article about it.
The design is so refreshing. BMW is showing balls to do something completely new. I absolutely love it! Two weeks ago saw it in person and it’s even better. BMW is getting ahead of the competition regarding recycling and lifecycles when you look at their strategy and vision. Honestly BMW is growing on me by the day. To me the designs are a bit like the new kidney grill, at first you might not immediately like it but with the right specs they grow on you. BMW is doing a phenomenal job and I will be driving a BMW in the near future.
I really dont like the way BMW is going with their newer models, this car, the new 7 series, the new 1 and 2 series, the new M3, it isnt great

In my opinion, the BMW IX is a really beautiful car! I particularly like the front (looks very powerful) and especially the wide fenders. It is also an art to install such narrow lights in a tall SUV. I love it a lot, especially with 22-inch tires and in gray metallic color with bronze trim and darkened windows
Not really a fan of the standing tablet screens - that goes for all cars (Tesla, Merc) and not only this BMW. I think it negates the design. My best guess it's a matter of available technology. Mercedes with the hyperscreen in the EQS is the first who takes it to the next (expensive) level.

Visually not that bad to look at, interior was nicer than expected when I first was in one but that sound pisses me off so much. I'd rather hear tyre noise than that. And you're right the car feels like a marketing piece with the M badges all over it, just to sell more.

It is a mummy wagon that BMW just feel they need to have in their M line up. I can not imagine many M customers in the dealership passing the M2,M3 and M5 and think "I really need a fast car to put all my shopping and all the kids in ".
I thought this model comes standard with soft close doors. Could that be why the doors make a crap noise when you close them with a bit of a slam.

I used to be a huge BMW fan and nerd. My family's E21 320i was the car I have to thank for turning me into an overall car enthusiast as well. However, I lost track of BMW somewhere after the "E" platforms were replaced, by the end of Chris Bangle's cars. Now every now and then I come across a new BMW video or article in a magazine and I go WTF.
Like for real, what is this thing? Looks like a Kia had a baby with an Audi. "BMW iX M60"? Is there a 60 series or something? Or is this an X6? Is it as sports "M" package variant? Is it a true "M"? Or what is it? I see so many weird models with weird names, and it's all a confusing mess. I miss the days when there was a 3,5,7,8 series (and other odd-balls like the Z and original X). When they all had different engines ranging from smaller to bigger, noted by the number after the series and the "M" version, if the car met the criteria for being called an M (high-revving, 100hp-per-liter, naturally aspirated engine bespoke to that model exclusively, manual transmission, finely tuned chassis).

I really hate that „endless rising“ sound because at higher speeds I simply expect some sort of sound which is somewhat more dramatic, not necessarily loud or screaming, but it should give you the feeling of high speed driving.
I think it's the materials they use for those doors, especially the interior side of the doors

I drove the iX40 and boy was it disappointing. Acceleration was okay but the pedal was not sensitive at all. Super light steering with zero feel regardless of settings. Driving settings are hidden inside an impossible infotainment system. The car is massive but there’s no frunk or much usable storage space under the trunk. All specs are unreal expensive but most don’t come with the nice crystal interior bits.
In my opinion it looks like something inbetween a golf r combi and one of the newer volvos

2600 kg even with carbon parts? With performance ICE cars everyone was yapping about some cars being heavy, but most performance EV’s are heavy as fuck. Battery technology needs to improve a lot more before they can convince me to buy one. I’ve read about solid state batteries, that looks promising.

I didn't like how the vehicle looked when it was released about 6+ months ago, and just about every review spent the majority of the video criticizing the looks. After watching plenty of reviews and seeing in in person on the road, I think it looks just fine; it definitely stands out. At this point, most reviewers have toned down their criticism of the looks; but obviously not all. Errr hrmmm...
Looks are in the eye of the beholder. Seems BMW wasn't going for the prettiest car in the world; they were going for form over function and a unique / controversial looks that stands out. If you see an iX go by, you may think it's odd looking, but you will still look at it.
In this class, the e-tron and the iX are much better values than the model X, IMO, after Tesla's obscene price hikes. Mercs just aren't that great overall in the specs department; but the EQS SUV should be better. The model X should only be considered in one case; you're a filthy rich American (it isn't being sold in Europe right now) that needs 3 rows of seats; or you're a Tesla shareholder, as many Tesla owners are, and want to flaunt your gains.
My only real complaints with the iX are that the front cup holder location is probably the worst design outside of the Polestar 2, the rear cargo area could have opened up more space on the sides like most other BMWs, and the door panels give off a circus mirror reflection, making them look dented in certain light.
And yeah, I'd recommend the i40 or M50 instead of the M60. While the M60 is a money grab, it isn't much more expensive than the M50 in the US when optioned the same way; the M60 is basically fully loaded by default, with a small premium for the performance upgrade. I'd love to see BMW offer the i40 in the US and see how they price it. Like most OEMs, they're concentrating most of their BEV supply in Europe.
Not that I'd actually buy this car as a single person with a short commute no matter how much money I have burning a hole in my pocket. Talk about a waste of battery cells and raw materials...
I really do hope that some day soon humans start caring more about the environment and prioritizing their own carbon footprint over materialism and the flaunting of their wealth. There are better ways to feel good about your life than how much money you can spend on wasteful luxury items that hurt the planet. One battery pack in an iX could be used to build 2 long range BEV sedan battery packs, or 6 RAV4 Prime battery packs. The goal of BEVs and their massive government incentive packages is to reduce emissions as soon and as quickly as possible. Beyond a certain pack size, the government should start removing the subsidies. Rich car companies don't need to be subsidized for serving rich people with wasteful products.

Because of the camera’s wide angle view there is absolutely no point in judging the cars’ exterior. We only see extremely curved images. This makes it annoying to watch (for me), so I stopped watching.

I like the styling actually. I think it works on this car considering it has a sleek drag coefficient of 0.25.And of course that cabin is a super sumptuous tech-fest. Not everyone will flow the same way of course as design is subjective. The review itself is a mixed bag!
