AMY HONEY PLEASE READ & DO THIS ASAP. Honey you are over watering that Christmas Cactus. DO NOT WATER IT BUT ONCE LIGHTLY EVERY 3 -4 WEEKS. Also buy potting mixture for cactus repot to larger pot needs direct sunlight.. they do need a special blend of potting soil. Must be for cactus or succulents. It is so hard for me to remember this too, that these are dessert plants they go months in the wild without rain. GOD BLESS from West Central Indiana Farmland

Since the plant is rotting, I wouldn't recommend direct sunlight first. Esp. on FL where it can be very hot and burn the plant. My succulents do best in filtered sunlight on CA. I would not put them in full sun and run the risk of shocking it.

We have 4 people, I average about 300-400 per 2 weeks. I think your budget is a reasonable amount. We don't include dining out, vacation expenses and all that. But I love seeing a real budget, especially when you can probably afford more, but you remain humble and down to earth. My kids are getting older so I feel like you explained the walking in life change very well. You are an inspiration for me as a mom to a single & twin teenagers!

I have been terrible with plants my whole life. I killed a cactus that takes work. Hahaha. Two years ago this month my mother passed away and I took her house plants. One is a Christmas cactus. The fact that these plants are still alive is a shock and a miracle. Don’t ask me how I’ve don’t it but my mom would be proud. If I can keep these plants alive I know you can too

I saw a video where someone used handheld beaters (you know, the ones you mix up brownies or cake mix with) to mix their sweet potatoes. The magic of it was that all the strings get stuck to the beaters themselves. So you clean them off periodically and they get removed from your sweet potatoes! I have never tried this myself; I don't own one of those anymore. But if anyone else has tried it, please let me know! 😀😄

Repot into a pot at least 2 or 3 times the size it's currently in. That's a Schlumbergera or commonly called "christmas cactus or Thanksgiving cactus"
the soil needs to be light not real dense. Only water when the soil is dry, like stick your finger in the soil if your finger comes out clean it's dry, if the soil clings to your finger don't water yet. Don't let the pot sit in water It likes indirect light, but does need some. First and foremost repot. Good luck 😊

I can't keep fresh vegetables and fruits in the fridge because my four kids will eat raw vegetables first before they eat the fresh fruit for a snack. When my kids were little we would give them fresh fruit and vegetables with french onion dip for a snack. I can put out a bowl of raw vegetables and fruits and a bowl of sweet treats my kids will go for the fresh fruit and vegetables before they go for sweet treats.

Sorry if you know this already but with the white tendons in the chicken breast, if you can grab hold of the top tightly (I usually use my nails)slide a fork prong immediately under where you’re holding and pull the fork down, the tendon I’ll tend to comeout with very little chicken meat attached. A fajita marinade that we use is zesty Italian -do not get the low fat or fat free because it cooks different -and you can get a whole package of chicken and a large bottle of zesty and put it in there and put it in a Ziploc bag let it marinate overnight, and it’s awesome. And if you have leftover chicken from that, you can also put that with Alfredo noodles or quesadillas.

Also if your soil doesn't have fertilizer in it, you might want to get miracle grow sticks and put one in soil. Mine has been doing good, till a cat laid on it and broke a lot off. you cannot water the cactus once a week. That's too much! It's water logged right now. Just seeing you watering in the sink was ARRGGGHHH! You can repot it to a larger pot ( not much larger) and use cactus mix, which drains better. And then put it outside where it's a filtered sunlight. Not direct sun. Because it will burn. This will help a lot. But you need to get it out of the water- logged soil or it will continue to deteriorate. Or you can send it to me and I'll rehab it! LOL! Just get it dried out and water it lightly. Some people have christmas cactus that are YEARS old! Mine are not that old, but under the right conditions they will be long lasting and grow big!

Amy you just changed my life with grinding up the chicken breasts in the food processor. I NEVER THOUGHT OF DOING THAT! My son’s main food group is chicken nuggets so I’ve been trying to make my own with ground chicken, but grinding it myself will save me $2/lb! Girlllllllllllllll❤❤❤❤

you need to stop watering that plant, that is the issue...also you need to have a little space in the garage to set up a shelving system to put all of your overflow of can goods on..this will free up space in your house...I live with small storage areas in my home as well..I bought a shelving unit and put all my overflow can or jar items on it and once the few I keep in the house go down I go and pull from there..this also helps with inventory of what I have on hand when time to shop

Our garage gets very hot so i don't want to store out there

@@amymaryon My garage gets too hot in the summer and cold/damp in the winter, so I can't store food in it as well. My friend that lives about 2 miles from me, has her garage fully insulated. Her garage doesn't get hot or cold and damp like ours, so she does store food in hers. I use the closet/storage area under the stairs to store some foods and extra dog food.

Great video, Amy. Can I make a suggestion? This make take some time to plan out and execute (Greg), but would you consider taking down the upper cabinets in the pantry area and install basic, functional shelving? I know when I did that in two areas in my storage area, I ended up with so much more room that I can use however I want or need. I'd also consider having nothing but open shelves in the closet. Good luck with whatever you do. This video was a lot of work for you. Thank you.

We have discussed this...someone else pointed out that since it is a butler's pantry we would lose a lot of value in the home ..so we will see. That was my first initial thought when we moved here..we may

Amy long time no comment, lol. I know with the sausage letting it sit and marinate is important but you need to take a small spoon of the mixture and fry it to see about the flavors. Get the kiddos to test also. Blessings y'all!

Can you get a clear drawer for under the crock pot to stick your towels in?

Amy I would have cooked a small sausage patty first before freezing to make sure it tasted ok. You might have needed to adjust it and let some of kids taste also. They may not like that either and then you've wasted that money.😢

Amy, just watching your video, your cactus is dying. You are giving it too much water. It’s rotting away.
Only water well once a week. Let it dry between waterings.
Now until April full sun. Then after that just a west or north facing window.
Full sun from October to April. Have fun!
