  • I was recently gifted a 3 pack of Lomography 400 35mm film. Having never shot this film before, I thought I’d hit the streets of Uptown Charlotte and shoot a roll. I was blown away by this film! I love the contrast and saturation as well as the vibe this film gives.
Have you tried this film? How did you like it?
Would you shoot this given the price increase?

Nice film and colors. How do you like the metering with the Voigtlander meter. I have an M4-P too and used only external meters like sekonic

I was using a handheld meter and hated how disruptive it was to my workflow...and having to keep up with one more thing. The Voightlander meter works great and is pretty unobtrusive! Thanks for watching!

Mac Shoots Film thanks for your Feedback. I will give a Leicameter which I have in the drawer but this voigtlander seems to be great but comes with a higher price.

I like the Lomography CN400, is just seems to gave a touch more saturation, contrast and punch when compared to Portra. That said, I shoot both.

Lomo Color Negative films are the same emulsions as the Kodak Gold Series. FYI

Hi It's me again, and I have used the Lomocolor400, and Had No problem scanning this film has since my film scanner has most of the film profiles in both Color Neg, Color Slide, and B/W profiles that I just took a guess in which profile test that the Lomocolor400 as it look better Naturally with the bright colors, and contrast, and that I use a Hand Held Meter with the 10' degree spot attachment, and took average point metering scenes, and Wa-LA, instant results, and also I rated the 400 to a stop push, and then also did slightly under expose a half a stop more, and also I have one Hell of Processing Lab... And got perfect scans myself, and then into the Photoshop, and print time.... Easy, and what camera I use when I was in Japan in 2016, and 2017??? That I use A 1964 Canon7 Rangefinder with a 35mm Komura 2.8 lens... As I did not had to Spend $$$$$ on a Leica but I notice that you listed all your cameras, is not one camera be perfect for you instead of bragging? Yea I have my share of my Nikon Cameras, and my 35mm Rangefinders eg: Canon, Contax, and Yashica in which they are from the time when BATMAN the series on ABC was ON back in 1966. As that all my gear has interchangeable lenses from Rangefinder to SLR, and also my medium format, and my baby a 1949 4x5 Speed Graflex. Everybody has a System, I have a system, and my former Co-Workers from the camera had a system, We all have system, and I should do videos and tell the truth about cameras, but you know what Matt no one would listen, all they want to see is your instagram page complement on your shooting and ask you what Camera are you using??? Oh Please do you think that will improve my way of shooting Nudes? in which they would go out and buy a DSLR, and Break the bank, in which they would never know in shooting a person, and In which I have seen your past videos, So you jump from the Nikon F100 to a Leica, and do you think that is going to improve? Think Man-the shooter is the one that makes the photo. Remember a camera is just a tool from whatever brand it is, and when ever when it was made. As why I am using a camera that is 50 years plus? because I love using Old film Gear - still expose film. advances the film, rewinds the film, fires the shutter, and it is Retro, and I could also get Leitz 39mm threaded lenses for the Canon, but I like the Komura from Japan as there is something about the glass on this lens that I like as the Image is more important then bragging about the Leica OK. And you know what I do not care who makes the Lomocolor400 film, I love it, and I have a way to expose MY WAY, and SCAN IT MY WAY, and Lomocolor400 is CHEAP. Also I could not stop laughing when you said White Balance on a Leica-Maybe if you have the Leica M9 Digital but This is Film, There is NO White Balance on the Fricken Leica film camera. And Lomocolor400 all I can say is On who makes the film as Keep guessing because it is not Kodak or Fuji. What other Color Neg film was around in Europe???? That Green metal post take out shot is a bit Yellow. As some of your shots were also a bit Yellow. Now can you guess in who made it? Give up on who makes Lomocolor400, does Agfa ring a bell?, In seeing Wikipedia that I could believe that it is made in the US, as it cannot be Old Kodak film stock like Kodak VR or VRG one that Lomocolor films does not have the magenta bar along the sprocket holes, and it does not have the sensor bar embedded along the emulsion to detect on the processing sensors at one hour labs as in using old film stock that the film emulsion will faded, and then improving it with this Metropolis Color neg stock that the film stock is now own by a company called ADOX in Germany as the film stock is base of the old film stock that from a film series that it was call Optima series from the late 1980's., and the fast films was from the Agfa series XRS in which they came from the late 1980's, also they made one hell of a 1000 ISO film that for both Neg, and slide film stock that it was a favorite to Fashion photographers, and on the fast films in which they make the film stock as they rebadge Lomo Color print film 100, 200, 400, and 800 print film. Just remember there are alot more older shooters that knows in what they are talking about it, and I have TOTAL respect to them then hear someone bragged about their SONY'S, and Panasonic's of the L MOUNT ALLIANCE in which I HATE SIGMA! And Again their will be a test after this....
