Back and Borque i think are both right there for making the lineup fully. Back has stood out more to me just because i SEE him in the corners, i cant see borque cause hes shorter🤷🏼♂️ my eyes are bad leave me alone lol Borque either needs a fast vet or nore AHL time Back I think is goingbto be a top 3rd or 4th liner but needs to start hitting. I didnt follow him too much in the AHL and i know the swedes style of play is more fluid than clashing but i feel if he did that he might start generating offense for us. I think the dumba trade was a hit or miss. We could have gotten prime dumba or sin bin resident dumba and it looks like we are goingnto get the latter. I was strongly hoping he would be good to stay in and Lundkvist would be floating in and out and dont get me wrong i still think Lundkvist should do another stint. I think Bischel, smith and petrovic would be better than Nils. 19:15 Joey, can you please help me understand why you think Nils should be in the lineup? All i hear is "His IQ is amazing, shot is wicked, hes the Miro partner we have been wanting" I can SEE the skill but all i see is the 2v1's he gives up or its a takeaway in our zone and its in the back of the net.
I really like Stankoven's speed sort of reminds me of someone I saw in the early 70's in St Louis on the Canadiens known as the pocket rocket Henri Richard . That guy was mesmerizing!
Congrats to Seggy, and to Back. I have noticed Back more often for his good play than i have Bourque so far. It was nice to see him get his first tonight. It's a shame Nils rang that shot off the post near the end of the game tonight - he could really use a little puckluck to build his confidence, but unlike PDB, i think it's just fine for him to continue building his defensive game and let the offense develop more slowly. Lastly, Boosh has been a joy to watch thus far. He is working his ass off and proving that he belongs with each and very shift. Let's drop another touchdown on Minny!
3 straight touchdowns is impossible, but I agree with you on lundkvist and boosh. I think we should try boosh with miro, harley with dumba, esa with nils. dumba is simply not a first pairing d. Also, what's wrong with robertson?
Lundkvist has stood out this season for all the right reasons. I thought after that game 7 against Vegas he was done in a Stars jersey. What a surprise so far. He has been solid. Lyubushkin has been a solid addition to the defensive corp. There have been games where I thought he was their best defenseman. Dumba has stood out for all the wrong reasons. Stupid penalties, poor defensive play, and zero offense. This signing has disappointed in a way so many people called, especially after buying out Ryan Suter.
I know you didn't ask but I have a bone to pick good gentleman and or woman. Lundkvist needs either a half or full stint in the AHL or a "conditioning assignment". I know the skill is there I can see it, I can see the image of having either 4 or 5 flying up the ice and ripping it bardown like Zubov. My bone is that I don't think he still understands the system, coming from the rangers would've been a pretty big jump. You have 1 line offense that turns into expected 4 line offense which makes everything faster, harder. I guess I'm just trying to find a better reason than "The kids got a wicked shot". His on ice decisions majority of the time either leade to a 2v1 or a turnover in the boards. Now from last year he has made HUGE leaps in advancement, last year I swear I could have said "TRADE HIM PLEAASE" about 10 times per game. Now since he's put on some weight and started listening to the vets it's better but I still think he needs more time on the farm.
@@DSSel3ct71 While I will agree that his offensive game has not developed the way we want his defensive game has improved by leaps and bounds to the point the coaching staff is now trusting him to some degree. What I am stating is that he has stood out because something has clicked in his brain that understanding your defensive responsibilities are the primary goal. Maybe, just maybe, he can find himself on the power play to start helping his offense.
The Stars, once again, absolutely COOK another opponent as they sweep the season series of the Bruins for the first time since the 2000-2001 season!
Nils graded out as the stars best D man tonight. He's come so far its great to see. Absolutely no way you can change these D pairs atm
Starting to see these lines really come together. I'm happy to see back-to-back 7's. Now to see if they can replicate this against MN.
