I wanted a Rs media so damn bad when I was little coolest toy ever made, luckily I got a V2 but it only lasted about 2 years I still have the V1, tribot, rover, and raptor and they still work
LOL! Robosapien V2 is very jumpy. RS media’s over their all chill and trying to stay awake. Just like him, the smart Elich. Haha! Considering trading/selling my Media for one of these guys. Would it be worth it?
I know you are the expert here with all your robots and years of collecting, but have you considered some of the problems maybe the lighting in your area? I know their vision works on bright reflective surfaces. Just a thought!
Ya, a lot of times that is an issue, the media had issues because the position sensor in his body is out so it wants to stay to the side, so, whereas I hold my hand or something straight, hes seeing from an angle sense his body isnt completely straight and the have to be completely straight forward for it to identify otherwise its gonna turn his head and look, and it has to identify first before the head turns for it to work correctly. Anytime the head turns you have to start over with the flinch response and do it until it doesnt turn his head.
@@jobeanvideos Like, I said, you are the expert and "the Man"! I'm just a novice although I've already spent a bundle over the years on my Botts. I started serious collecing in 2012 when I first saw them on eBay while looking for a childhood toy called Robert the Robot. I got several Roberts and then wen't totally crazy and litteraly broke the bank! I'm stil paying for them! After 2013 they pretty much sat until this year when I started messing with them again. Many of them I stupidly left the batteries in,, but was pretty fortunate with leakage and minor corrosion. Unlike you though, I went nuts over the Omnibots! I've got 12 or more of them, four 2000's, four Robie Sr.'s, and two Hearoids! I have a bunch of the WowWee ones also including four Robosapien V2's, but nothing like your collection! I haven't even tried to take them apart yet. One came with a broken arm and I even bought a replacement, but never fixed it. Another had a "hot foot", but like I said, after my buying frenzy cooled off they pretty much just sat around collecting dust until last month. I'm gradually working my way through the collection to determine their condition and reading the manuals. Most work OK, but some like the Roboscoopers have never done what they were supposed to. Anyway, I started watching your videos this year and I feel like I've watched you grow up, Ha! Enjoy your hobby or "addiction" or both!
@@geraldwolfe3414 that's so cool and interesting, I relate a lot to that. The same thing with my medias, I have 12 now. I broke my bank buying 4 just this year all at once already, I use to just buy 1 every year. I always had a set goal that I wanted to achieve getting 12 just for the hell of it. I achieved it and I'm happy, although 2 are completely dead from the board, number 3 and number 9, working on getting new boards for them. Anyways, after I got number 6 and 7, I put all my robots on shelf and stopped using them for years because they just kept breaking, every sense this year, I got back into them and using them, my originals got more issues, but I've fixed them. It's the same with my roboscooper, it never worked and it was brand new, as soon as I turned it on, the gear that turns the body popped off. I actually have footage of everytime a robot broke, because I never used my robots without filming, so I've recorded every moment. I have two of the Roboscoopers, one new in the box and it did the same thing...never worked. It won't even drive around! Neither of them will. By the way, I broke the bank somemore last night! Instead of taking your advice I bought another V2, white and yellow, new in the box! $250 shipping free, Ha! I shouldn't have done it, but another one just like it was listed for $1500! I wanted a new one as my others were all used and don't operate correctly. I may just leave it in the box though. Since watching your videos I'm assuming that the wires are bad in the old ones, but I haven't checked yet. There's a video showing where some guy rewired his, but doubt if I'd have the patience to do that, but maybe. Do you know if WowWee made them yellow and white or are they just yellowed with age? The sun can fade some plastic, but these look like they were made that color. I also bought a used charger for my Spike Ultra Dinosaur...paid more than I should, but couldn't find mine anywhere and it was driving me crazy. I'll probably find it now that I bought another one! The fun continues! For now my main robot project will be trying to install new battery contacts in the corroded Omnibots, etc.. It's going to be a job, but oh, well! I don't have much experience with soldering or using a multimeter but guess I can learn. @@jobeanvideos
@@geraldwolfe3414 yes, they are all bad even brand new unless its pearl white or black, and for the roboscooper its probably a split gear that could be replaced.

MrDomeLPs if yours has the trash simble on its butt it's 1st generation. there are other ways you can tell as well. like in media mode, some of the options are in different folders, then the 1st 2 models. the 3rd generation comes with the 2nd generation personalities. 2nd Gen Billy joe, 2nd Gen service bot, and 1st Gen space bot with messed up voice files places for the wrong functions. 2nd Gen comes with all 2nd Gen personalitys and 1st Gen comes with all 1st Gen personalities. there's other ways you can tell as well, which I'll get back to you later
MrDomeLPs 1st and 2nd Gen function exactly the same the only difference is the trash simble and the personalitys. 3rd generation for example in its roaming mode it will roam for 10 minutes if it doesn't hear a sound, each time it hears a sound it starts over, which is almost impossible, so it basically goes until you stop it or the batteries die. however if it does get through that long it powers it's self off, where as the and 2nd Gen only go for 2 minutes of they don't hear a sound and go into sleep mode. also 3rd generation has a quicker response time with remote signals then the 1st gen. so ya lol
MrDomeLPs one other thing lol. 2nd and 3rd generation have a loading screen that has a loading bar when you turn it on, 1st gen doesnt. 2nd generation goes through 2 screens, when turned on. 3rd Gen goes through 3. also 1st generation comes with a hand tag when they were new in box. 3rd Gen does not. one more difference, the cables on the media's arms of 1st and 2nd Gen rub and leave marks on their arms, whereas the 3rd gen doesn't leave marks, it's a slightly different material. that should be everything lol
