I love the "dial indicator "
Eye indicator
It works, all you need to get close to start taking a chip. This is not his first rodeo, it's all he needs to get started. Besides, he is not making watches.
It's the best dial indicator for hanging shirts on and for breaking in to cars with.

I actually enjoy the way You guys work with the tasks in hand.
I also see that the tools are taken good care of which will be rewarded later when the tool becomes older.
I would like to see You to take good care of Your eyes as well. Safety goggles cannot be that expensive and they protect the greatest asset You have - the eyes.
I know it can become hot and humid and that the goggles can then be very uncomfortable. However, it is equally uncomfortable to have grinding dust in the eye.

Damn. I suffered with an eye burn from a welder and that is the most uncomfortable feeling ever. 2 days i felt like sand rubbing in my eyes. My welder sits untouched.
@@boxerfan2 try aluminium filings in your eyes 😪😪 worst thing ever happened to me.. people learn the hard way first 😁
They don't take good care of their machine, that prop should of had a carrier below it, they should not be hitting things while in the chuck, there is serious machine abuse going on here

@@superchickensoup my dad worked at a coal mine and said a guy there was working on a similar lathe and the lathe broke and shards went through the guys hard hat and killed him.
I found that lathe to be impressive, very simple build with a huge throw, and nice looking ways. I used to operate one without glasses, but learned better very quickly.
Well it's a third world country, they're just trying to finish it asap, so no time spent on safety whatsoever. The lathe is mighty impressive however

It's amazing in these other countries you can do so much with little equipment and it seems here in the US we need the best of everything to do the same job good work 👍
Drive shaft shops in the US look much the same
There are certainly flash fully cnc shoos pumping out 100s of shafts a day
But if your after a one off repair then shops just like this will do it
Itll cost you prob 100x more though
But you get more precision and a warrenty
Not that what they're doing isn't probably good enough
always turn the machine off to adjust belts
How bout welding with no shoes and where are the safety nazis on no glasses?
At least take the rings off, might save a finger.

cleanest equipment ive seen. means you take pride in everything you put your hands on.
Much respect for these hard working men. There's a family depending on them and this is good work. Serious and well-groomed to boot!
I have to agree, I used to think parts of any job can be crappy, but if you are supporting your family with it, you can take pride in your endeavours no matter how primitive it may seem. I tip my hat to these workers eking out a living and doing the best they can.
The quality of work put out by these Pakistani mechanics is impressive when you consider the limited facilities that they have available although safety isn't often an overriding priority.

Такая простая мастерская и делают абсолютно все, станки вообще огонь. У нас иди найди токаря чтоб такое сделал, то патрон маленький, то станок не тянет, то пьяный. Молодцы пакистанцы умеют могут.

Судя по станку, аля дяди Васи, сельского тракториста сваренного из оглоблей и подков, это проволочка довольно точный прибор.
Кронциркуль,есть кронциркуль.
И что с того что проволоку использовал? Отрезал и всё. Когда приваривал - станком центрировал. Мне токарь точно также шлицевую менял. Ни биения, ни вибрации по машине нет. Кардан не балансировали, крестовины и подвесной ходят как положено.

Не поверишь,они зубы на улице лечат.Идешь по рынку,рядом с таким же токарем стоматолог стоит.Удалит,пломбу поставит.Если надо и запротезирует. Я думаю,что и офтальмолог где-то рядом.

the welding earth should be on the workpiece, not on the lathe.

With tapered roller bearings of the size that would be required to pass a driveshaft, there is more than enough contact area to carry ~120amps at around 24v without any negative effects on the bearing surfaces.
changing the belts while the motor running is dangerous, be careful.

как он полез в коробку передач, при включенном станке... у меня монитор чуть не заплакал.
Не зря же говорят у них другие законы физики. Я вообще непониимаю как он с болтающимися рукавами ремни перекидавал на вращающемся валу и его туда не закрутило.
Там вообще , дружба с техникой и все, что с ней связанно , не понятно для нас происходит....и эже ли тчего- на все воля Аллаха...

C'est le métier que j'ai appris fin des années 70 ou un mécanicien était formée au tour , fraiseuse,et métrologie pendant 1 ans avant de faire les études de mécanique automobile.

Заметьте, у него 10 пальцев, 2 глаза. Халат с незастёгнутыми рукавами, шлепки (прикинь на ногу что упадет), замена ремней на работающем станке, отсутствие очков - все пофиг. Как это работает? Менее везучие не доживают там до такого возраста?

Sir, I have always been a great supporter of Pakistani Trucks and the work you do which in many cases is amazing. However, I think you guys need to realise that your viewing audience is growing and widespread and therefore I think you need to be more responsible in some of your work practices. The online belt change is tremendously dangerous and should not occur on a live unit and safety glasses should be worn, lose an eye and it would be such a shame. Please accept this comment with respect as I will continue to support your channel as you are great trade persons.
Thanks for your participation. We always tell them to follow safety precautions but they work in their own easy way.

Very impressed with how clean the machinists keep the lathe, its components, and the shop area. I wonder if their work would be more accurate if they used micrometers instead of calipers - probably not.

Cost me a 4mm shard of metal imbedded into my upper arm the other day, cut straight through my long sleeve work shirt as well. Got to be real careful what a hammer hits when not paying attention to what it is supposed to be hitting.
Man you guys need a dial indicator, and inside and outside micrometers....makes life so much easier....
How do you get the drive shaft in phase with the next shaft. Just a little off and they will vibrate.
Their roads aren't that smooth. Neither are ours 🤣
У нас бы сказали сервесмены надо менять кардан полностью, сальники и желательно подшипник хвостовика а еще в коробке заменить масло за одно а еще крестовины кардана и к ним новые обязательно болты, тавотницы, шприцануть всё, ну и еще надо балансировку будет тоже сделать!
да товарищи тряпкой вытирать патрон станка который крутится, это шедевр и менять положение ремней когда включён двигатель они чё киборги.

Wear safety glasses when machining....blind machinists don't work. You also need a vernier caliper for measuring and also use a steady rest for those long parts.
That's why they have 2 eyes. If they lose one they always have a backup🤔
I think they do have vernier calipers in the drawer in the lathe.

For those diameters, a measurement is not needed. All they need to know is that the ID fits in the OD properly and using their method is is just fine. Slow and cumbersome, but just fine.
