I've used them before and it did peel but I didn't think my feet were all that much softer. Also I left so much skin everywhere I went I was scared I was going to get implicated in a crime when they found my DNA all over the city.

😂😂😂
😂
I've used a foot peel mask once. It peeled, but it really didn't have the transformative results that it promised. My feet aren't badly callused, but after 2 days, the mild roughness returned (like you said, it doesn't address biomechanical issues.)
you probably needed to use the baby foot brand. Not any old foot peel will do.
I use the peels 3 times a year and have had great results. I don't have any foot issues.
same i use them 1-2 times a year and it great especially during winter
Which brand do you use?
@@madikoko Baby Feet.
@@madikoko I've used Baby Feet and brands (don't remember the name) that have both been purchased on Amazon.
Same. I also make sure to use a urea and salicylic acid cream every day. I also get monthly pedicures and exfoliate my feet a few times a week.
This pops up as I am going through the peeling process of a foot peeling mask 😂 It's usually only my heels that get really dry no matter how dry I get my feet after soaking them and using the foot files and lotion it only makes them worse so I find using these products help me they are definitely not a permanent solution but they do help until my feet start to bother me again.
I use them approximately twice a yr. It leaves my feet soft since the rough skin peels off in the process. I really like them.
I feel like if you use a good urea cream and moisturizer before bed every night you will get similar results to a peel, the skin will become softer over time. I’m lucky I don’t have callus issues, but my mom does and she found that a urea cream really helped her a lot
I have had the same experience. Urea creams are the way to go! I get the 40% ones. They can be pricey but they go a long way and you should only use them on your feet unless instructed otherwise by YOUR own doctor. Cracked heels are miserable so get started today. Good luck everyone!
Dr... I super enjoy all these info-pops and the variety of foot care related topics. Thank you!! So interesting.
*Dr. Jefferson; you are the best, smartest Podiatrist in the USA! 🇺🇸. I learn from your videos. Thank you so much. 🥰🙂*
My friend used one of those things. She had peeling for a week and her corns got infected...BAD NEWS 😱
The box should say not to use them if you have corns though?
I LOVE the foot peel mask I use. I use the same brand each time. I've done it about 4x in the last yr, so every 3 months. Leaves my feet super soft. I've always taken great care of my feet. Super helpful during winter months & if u stand on your feet alot. I keep my feet moisturized with Shea butter. No issues here.
Interesting! I’m so glad someone asked you this question
I try to use them every six weeks because the skin on my feet gets so dry that it starts getting itchy and will start falling off in little dry flakes in my socks. When I take a shower I have to use a separate towel just to my feet and there is dead skin in the towel. So the masks really help me.
Dr. Jefferson, I think perhaps “moderation” for the right population. In other words, not for diabetics, not for those with peripheral vascular disease, elephantiasis , any and all other foot/leg conditions. I agree that a person needs to be careful and not use excessively. I use it twice a year and get excellent results. I soak my feet on a regular basis (weekly) in warm water with a tea bag (usually while watching your channel.)The tannins in the tea bag help exfoliate and eliminate odor . (Dr. Oz.) You are a real gem and are definitely the “Gold Standard!!!!” Wishing you the best ☺️
I appreciate how you gave detailed & easy to understand reasons why a person shouldn't use this. Most docs just say they advise against using this because you don't need it
Thank you, I appreciate the information
I never used foot peel I always thought they weren't safe thankyou Dr Jefferson..
Your information is so very helpful!!!
YOU ARE A GREAT DOCTOR. IVE HAD MAJOR FOOT SURGERY. I LISTEN TO YOU AND USED, SHEA BUTTER LOTION. MY FOOT SURGEON WAS SO IMPRESSED. I TOLD HIM I WATCH YOU. HE WAS GOING TO RECOMMEND TO OTHER THE LOTION. TY
You're a real expert on feet 💯
I have used foot peel mask in the past the outcome was good. I suffer from major calluses on both feet because of my AFO brace
Thank you for this info Doctor,,,, you are the best..
I’ve used twice barely got peel. nothing like the page turn peels .. I will soak and file and clip .. excellent information Sir
Thanks so much for your advice & info. From what you said, I should focus on regularly caring for my feet better.
I have used one before, but it didn't do anything. Thank you so much for the information.
I have used the foot masks. I don't have any medical problems to worry about. The mask worked great, though I don't use them often. It doesn't take enough of the epidermis to cause me any issues. Just leaves my feet very soft but not sensitive. I actually like them.🙂
I have wondered about those peels...glad you did this video Dr. J, being type 2 diabetic this is good info.. Thanks 😊
Always informative! Thank you.
Am glad a have watched this am a diebetic and my wee daughter bought me one for a wee pamper nite. A will pass it on to someone else. Thanks for the info xo 🤗 🤗 🤗 🤗
Thank you so much for this important information Dr Kevin 💐💐 I’ve never used them personally, so I had no idea they could peel for days after use 😱😱😱
OMG! I didn't know this. I have been looking to try this product. Thanks for the heads up. I'm Diabetic also.
My experiences have been good. I just like to see and play with the peeling.
I used to use them but found soaking my feet for 20 mins in warm water, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda (while sloughing off old skin with a pumice stone or foot file) is far more effective! My feet feel baby soft smooth!! I recommend moisturizing afterwards with shea butter or coconut oil. The Doc's heel stick product works well - love it!👌🏽👍🏾
Do you mind sharing the heel stick info?
Always keeping it real. Thanks for your input.
I used a foot peel twice. I didn't have any problem. However, I now have rough heels.
Thank you Dr Jefferson... I was thinking about this product and will not because of your advice ❤
I've used these and was well pleased.
Thank you for sharing this ❤
this is helpful thank you!
Thanks for this information
I've used them previously peeling was about seven days I enjoyed the peeling part but honestly my feet were not as soft as I thought they would be afterwards...similar to the callus remover nail shop uses makes my feet very dry
I used it and a infected sore came up on my foot I think the foot peels are to rough. If you feel you have to do it once a year but instead I'd use a stone to scrape it and lotion every day just once a day.
I tried a foot peel mask once and despite all the rave that you get a lot of peeling and soft feet after, my feet barely peeled and didn't feel any softer than a good moisturizer. It was definitely a viral flop for me.
Same with me
Same - my heels get dry and rough from not wearing socks, and the mask did make them softer, but there was no dramatic peeling. And after a few weeks my heels will be rough again. 🤷
Thank you for doing this. I wondered about the masks but never used one.
This is helpful
I used foot peels once or twice a year up until the time that I retired. I've been retired for a couple of years now and I think I've used it once, maybe twice. The main reason is because now I wear far more comfortable shoes and I'm not on my feet eight hours a day. The skin on my feet is much softer, I don't have any aches or pains, and other than an occasional pedicure, my feet are in great shape. A regular pedicure (soaking, callous gel, scrubbing using pumice stone on heels, war paint on nails 😊) is more than enough to keep everything healthy. So yeah. I used them but I don't anymore.
What I liked about them is that it would allow me to keep the bottom of my feet relatively soft. What I didn't like about them was the random nature of skin falling off😳. So I'm happy not to use them at all right now.
I’ve used one for the first time recently. It wasn’t a “bad” experience per say but I noticed that I may have used it wrong. I was supposed to soak my feet to prime the callous dead skin on the bottom of my feet. It’s really dense and think and I know that it just wants to come off but needs some “help”. I’m not versed in podiatry but I think the THICK dead skin is due to it being at points where my weight is applied most. But the arches of my feet didn’t have any of that thick skin. My foot peeled as much as it could being that I didn’t soak it first but still I peeled and the arches of my feet felt so sensitive. Like the sensation in my feel increased and it worried me because it’s like not I HAVE to have something on my feet. I can’t step on a rice grain without feeling it. Then I thought about people who may have issues with their health like you mentioned, like 💭 “yeah, this is something a Physician should issue 😂, not on a shelf where anyone could just pick up.” Because whatever that solution is inside those plastic socks is STRONG and will eat all the dead skin away 😂, and that would be problematic for some. I agree with the doctor. Ask your trusted physician before using.
but its so much fun to peel!
👏👏👏👏you are the best
I may use one a year before sandal season in Florida, or wait to use it before a special occasion. I have had only positive experiences because I refuse to use them too often. I can see where these masks could be very dangerous if overused.
Uh Oh 😗…..just used one the other day and I have neuropathy 😮 if it gets bad I will call my podiatrist. Thanks for the heads up Doc!
How did you fare?!
I’ve done it twice I love the results I wear big heavy work boots so my feet get rough heels n side are dry n cracked I put them on in the winter ( I love peeling the dead skin) my feet are like brand new after the peel I load it with moisturizer they stay good til the next winter
I tried them. At first, I thought it wasn't working. After a couple of days, I forgot about it. I got up one morning, started walking, and noticed I was trailing, what I thought was a piece of toilet paper stuck to the bottom of my foot. It did make my feet feel softer. The new skin also seemed brighter/cleaner.
😆😆😆The tp comment is hilarious! I do agree with you though. My feet look and feel great!😃
I actually am reading these comments with the mask currently on .......can you peel it off if it gets to that point...or...
@@therealshadarahandrews5217 Nothing happens the day you use the mask. You'll think it didn't work. 2-3 days later, it's like dead skin socks.
I used a foot peel mask once or twice with great results. The mask even peeled dead skin from the sides of my feet, which was a bonus. I don’t have any significant foot or health issues and my feet are much softer. I use shea butter everyday after I shower to maintain my feet. I plan to use it perhaps once or twice a year, but no more for the very reasons you stated in your video.
It didn’t seem to do any harm it smoothed me out once the peeling was done
However a general pedicure would have done the same thing
I don’t have any foot issues outside of what seems to be a little toenail fungus but if you say you don’t like them then I’ll put that jewel in my pocket.
HUUGE problem for me, when I removed my toe polish 7/10 toes were green, brown, and grayish and I freaked out. The problem was the peel was so good and strong it ate through my toe cuticles so everything could get in. Had to see a dermatologist, podiatrist, and have ugly infected toes for about 6 months while taking 2 pills a day and using medication every night. Not worth it.
I am diabetic (type 2) and I use baby foot a couple times per year. I don't know why people seem to assume that everyone with diabetes has diabetic feet, open wounds, sores or Neuropathy it simply isn't the case. Many diabetics don't have any foot problems at all.
Have you used a foot peel mask too?
You r absolutely right, I used only once foot peel mask for my heals it didn't reduce my caluce much my skin flaked and my feet became sensitive, I realised that foot cream with uria is much better for my sensitive skin
I like them. Sure...there's a reason my feet are all dry and such, but it's summer and I'm gonna be going barefoot and wearing sandals so.... there's the reason! It doesn't get my calluses, it just gets the outer layer. I'm not diabetic.
I know why my feet are dry and rough. Those things aren't going to change. This just cleans up the mess, as it were.
Calluses still need special attention.
I have used foot peel masks in the past. The directions state not to use lotions or creams, but I did anyway. My feet are dry. I couldn’t stand the thought of not using lotion. I guess because of that, my feet took a few weeks before the skin started to peel. Eventually all the skin peeled off, but the dry skin eventually returned. I didn’t think it was a good idea to use a foot peel all the time. I bought a few at least a year ago, but never used them because to me, it’s more of a pain in the neck to use something that isn’t permanent. Now that I think of it, it makes me think of using salicylic acid on my feet. In the long run, that is not a good idea. They are messy too!
Me the whole time- ‘shush! Move out the way! I wanna see the foot peel!’ 😂😂
I used to be prone to eczema outbreaks on my feet. There is no way I would ever use one simply because it's been years since I had an outbreak on my feet. I will do everything I can to prevent it again.
Question I had my nails done artificial nails put on I left them on 3 times longer than I should have now my nails are broke off at the tip there soft brittle, what do I do now? I'm not sure the old false nails are all the way off what do I do I caint make the nail salon understand I want the old nails completely moved but they don't understand English. ,?
I was actually thinking about trying one, even though Im a diabetic. I just had my nails trimmed 2 weeks ago at the foot doctor and other than neuropothy in my toes, my feet are in excellent shape. Ill think about what you said and ask my dr at my next appt as a second opinion.
I use them, and they worked pretty well for me. I used one in 2020 during the pandemic, and although I wear work boots, my feet were pretty good. I get pedicures every quarter, and toe polish changes biweekly. The foot peel removed so much dead skin that despite wearing work boots, I didn't really have to do the foot peel again until 2023. I like for my feet to always look pretty and feminine so this worked well for me. once all of that dead skin was removed, my feet remained soft by just a quick scrub of the pumice stone in the shower. That helped maintain the softness over the years until I did it again just before Christmas 2023
I am actually using a foot peel mask (for the first time ever in my 29 years of life) and so far I'm having an amazing experience!! I do not have diabetes or anything either so hopefully once the peeling begins, it'll be great. I decided to do this because my feet peel so horribly already especially after a shower. I can scrub all I want and it seems to get worse. I will check back once peeling 🍌 begins though. 👍😊 personally I'm very excited to have soft and smooth feet by the end of this experience.
i do it for fun its so satisfying to peel
You are still the best!
I think the foot peels are “neat” the way they work and the way they make the feet look, but I’m not gonna disagree with you about why people shouldn’t use the product because you’re the doctor and you know what you’re talking about. Love your videos!
I used it one time. I had no problem. I don't have foot issues though.
i do one very occasionally, just for fun as I am a picker. when it started peeling it looked promising but I was a bit dissapointed.
I used them before. My feet aren't terrible but I'm on my feet all day so sometimes I just have dry heels. I brought a two pack that said use them within two weeks of each other. The first one I followed the directions and soaked my feet everyday and applied a heavy Shea butter with fuzzy socks. The softness lasted but my feet were still slightly peeling on my heels. I waited and use the second one and now I feel like my feet are worse then when I first started using a foot peel and nothing really helps now. Once you use it you have to keep using it!
i'm dabetic & i used the foot peel it give me grate result, i really love my feet
I’ve used them a few times and LOVE the results. My feet are as smooth as a baby’s bottom! Much softer than I was able to achieve with just Kerasal and Cerave. Now maintaining that softness is EASY to maintain! That being said, they are NOT for everyone. (F 60)
I used one last week and now my skin is peeling! I hate it! Had no idea it would be like this! Never again, wish I had seen your video first!
Keep movinnn
Overall that’s a very fair analysis! Coming from a cosmetologist point of view when done right they are ok. The issue because overuse & user error. I have had good results but a podiatrist had better treatments. The ones with salicylic acid are better in terms of anti bacterial properties.
I trying 1 right now and after I will say my like the thing that happens if it was good or bad
I used a foot peel about a week ago and will never do it again! My feet are still peeling and are in worse shape than before! Wish I had seen your video before I used it!
I’ve used it once and it ruined my feet. I never had callous and now every few days I have to take the callous out. I never thought something like that could happen. 😞
I feel sick. I did one 3 Days ago not really understanding it. Now my feet feel strange and these peel videos are scaring me , wish I’d watched first.
Guilty as charged, I used that stupid foot peel and why? To get rid of rough skin. My feet did peel and the rough skin did return so now I take better care if my feet, it’s more work but my feet feel better then when I used that peel.
I use them seldomly. I don’t think I notice significantly softer feet but I just like watching the skin peel of in sheets. I did one two days ago because I have some natural skin peeling on my big toe and wanted to see what would happen and oddly I have a wound on the top of my foot now. Idk if it was caused by the mask or if I just cut my foot on something but it was bleeding a lot cause it was next to a vein 😅
Me watching this with my feet in the bags 😐
I had a very good experience to be honest now I keep on top of my feet 👍🏾
My feet have never felt right after doing one a few years ago
I enjoy these foot peels for the same reasons everyone does-you get the satisfaction of the outer layer of skin slowly peeling off, and the near-immediate result of soft feet without a lot of hard work. However, it’s just temporary, and soon enough you’re back to rough heels. Makes it seem not worth it.
I got hooves 😢 my sister told me foot peels were a thing. This was the first video i saw and i probably won’t do it bc fungus is worse that having heavily cracked and calloused feet 😢😢
I love them myself but they only do soooo much😂but they work for me!!!
I used the ultra exfoliating booties about 5 days ago. my fee tops and ankles wont stop itching, I used them because the back of my dry heal split right up the middle. The split doesnt hurt anymore but Im prettt sure I was allergic to one of the ingredients
What do you recommend to dissolve rough calluses?
Hi. I used foot peel once and it literally worked. It peeled for 6 days . But in 2 months the the rough skin came back.
I used one once. by the time my feet were done peeling they were already super dry again.
Are used it and I like the results that I got also wash my feet and I also put a body butter and socks on my feet when I’m done that’s my skin routine
I have always had very dry skin especially on my feet so I do these every few months just to do a little extra pampering for my feet when they are super dry and uncomfortable
No issues so far
Do you have wrinkles on your feet as well?
@@lauriannajones where I live wrinkles can be pretty common and lotions are necessary for many
we can spend anywhere from 6-8 months in boots and the air can get very dry
@@ohwell94 aaahh okk I'm currently in the UK, the weather hasnt been great. I have noticed wrinkles growing on the side of my feet. I'm currently using avocado to see if it will do anything
@@lauriannajones one thing I have found that works pretty well for my feet is soaking in epson salts for 15 min then is a thin layer of coconut oil..just a teaspoon works well
Try that once a week for a month and you will notice a difference
But once every 2 or 3 months I do a foot mask
@@ohwell94 thank you 🙂 I'll try that and see if it works
I am diabetic. And I am always concerned about my feet . If you die did it
You need to talk to your doctor before you do anything like this..
I don't understand why people do things like this.... My feet are perfect so far knock on wood.... But I'm always keeping an eye on my feet.... Be careful my friends Don't do things that later on you're going to regret it.
God-bless all of you and take care...
No I've seen how bad it can go. Continued to peel for weeks and almost immediately back to square 1. Treatment should always be identification of what and why something is pressing or rubbing, and dealing with the symptoms with soaking, sanding and a really good lotion.
Dr, dou you think an ems foot massager us ok to use on a diabetic with neuropathy??
What can you recommend to get the dry skin off then?
How would you treat a case like this
Dr. Jefferson, I have a callus on the 5th metatarsal and it hurts with every single step I take and can no longer run or jog..
I've seen videos on UA-cam where podiatrist numbed the foot, shaved the callus down, then cut out and removed the core..
I was wondering if that is an "actual procedure" that rids calluses on the 5th metatarsal or is this some new "crackpot" surgery that some podiatrist are performing all for the sake to make a profit?
It this is an actual real procedure, is it safe?
Other podiatrists I've seen recommended surgery by cutting my foot open and breaking my pinky toe bone and raising the bone up away from the callus and i don't want that
