      Reminds me of our 1995 turbo Volvo 940 wagon! Looked like a deep freeze, hauled two adults and five kids, top end 143 mph (without the kids), 25 mpg! Served us well for 19 years, 250 k miles, next guy has put on another 100k+! Best car I have owned so far (including a Camaro and an Austin-Healey)! 👍🏼😎✌🏼

      Then again, in Germany y’all have incredible roads, everybody understands the rules of them, and for the 10 hours I spent driving through your country, I didn’t get cut off once, or have some moron riding 15 under in the left lane.

      In Poland u can drive this on car category because from 2021 u can legally drive an green plate (ev/hydrogen) car with 4250kg of total mass.
      I think this was mandatory by UE

You should also try telling that to the guy my dad killed. He was in one of those old Ford trucks. And the guy was in a civic. I don't know how but dad walked away. that truck was totaled though.       You can't. It likely has regenerative braking and those systems aren't exactly what one would call easy to get going or keep going. Likely also won't just let you push it when it's dead and you also might not want to do that since braking to stop would likely just lock up the brakes. You can "cage" air brakes, you can't do the same with hydraulic brakes.

And if you know about the systems then explain. Most of my comment was speculation and knowledge that regen braking systems can't be dolly towed at all, especially if it's on all 4 corners. And as for talking about brake systems, most people don't have a clue how they work or how to release them. But if you know so much then please correct me. If you don't or don't want to say anything then your commenting is completely pointless because telling someone they don't know and having no proof of that isn't an argument or a conversation.       @@FC0BCA7E7A the highest weight model of the F150 is under 3 tons. If something doesn't sell it is likely people don't want one.
      Another thing to consider is market trends. People in Europe prefer smaller vehicles. As shown by sales the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux are the most popular trucks in Europe however generally Vans are more significantly more popular than trucks in Europe.

      @@THEJPR i wasn't talking about mining lithium ion. I'm very well aware how it's mined and what happened to dead batteries (which is what I was referring to). I had to sit through many training seminars on electric vehicles because I work on city buses and we have electric ones. And it's a joke anyone who thinks electric vehicles do anything to offset anything is brainwashed. All's it does is outsources the pollution. For example where I am we charge ours with Diesel generators that give of more pollution than our Cummins engine buses. But hey the go green people don't see any pollution because it's electric so they're happy and we get our grant money.

      family..I can tell you living just outside any city in a big rugged country like 🇨🇦
      you need a big rugged pickup.
      the temp drops to minus -50c with 45cm of new snow & the moose & deer & elk or bears wander onto the highway ( road ) they can literally kill you .,
      my uncle Otto was killed after he hit a moose back in 2001.. had he been driving my dads 4x4 Dodge Ram my uncle Otto may have lived ( he was driving an Audi)
      that’s why I own a Hummer H2 and Hummer H1 (and a couple of jeep Renegades)

    The formula for kinetic energy is 1/2 mv^2. So triple the weight increases the k.e. 3 times but triple the speed speed gives it 9 times the k.e. So it’s more like 180 mph

      correct. mkbhd messed the calculations up. kinetic energy is 1/2mv^2. Since a civic weighs around 3000lbs, and the hummer weighs around 9000lbs, you get the equation 1/2(9000)(47.4)^2 = 1/2(3000)(velocitycivic)^2. you get velocitycivic = 82.1 m/s, which translates to 184mph.
      he was likely talking about momentum, which is m*v. In that case, he would be right.

      And I’m fairly certain he did his math wrong. It’s 1/2*mass*velocity^2 . Unless he is trying to calculate the momentum of the vehicle which is mass*velocity which then his numbers make sense.

      Came here for this. Civic would go 184mph for same kinetic energy. Unfortunately, in a car vs. car collision, momentum is usually what kills you so marques is almost close to making the right point.

      In the USA it's how much weight it can carry and number of axles it has that determines the class of license needed to drive it. Though, it usually works out where if the vehicle can carry 80,000 lbs (36,287 kg), one needs a Class A commercial license (or equivalent in your state, that's what's needed to drive a lorry) which works out to being a big, heavy vehicle

      The Ford F-450 (which is a much bigger and much more powerful truck than most you'll see) weighs 7,700 to 8,500 lbs. The Hummer EV is over 9,000. The more normal F-150 is ~5,700 MAXIMUM

    Think you need to go back to school Marques. Kinetic energy is 1/2 * Mass * Velocity Squared. It's 3 times heavier, so the civic would be going root (3) = 1.73 times faster, not 3 times faster.

    potential energy would not apply here, the momentum of the 106mph hummer and 320mph civic would be same, but the 320mph civic has kinetic energy 3x that of this hummer, so the honda would need brakes that are 3x massive, so hummer can cheap out on brakes

      I work on city buses and we have diesel Cummins engines and we electric buses and our Cummins give off less pollution than our fully electric buses, because we charge our electric buses with Diesel generators, that are regulated

    So the civic would only need to travel 184 mph. Velocity contributes more to energy than mass.

    That’s incredibly dangerous! Trucks and SUVs are ALREADY heavy and at a higher ride height than sedans and other smaller cars. The idea of DOUBLING the mass is insane. This has to be a wake up call for the masses to demand public transport.

    I've been saying this for years: your liability on the road should be dictated by weight.
    Reckless driving in an s u v should have a higher consequence in reckless driving in a motorcycle.
    We do it for other things, The greater the amount the greater the punishment, But not for traffic violations.
