    I love the videos! I know you get a lot of requests but I think maybe a video of Matt Donavan feeding Dan Lintner vs UPenn would be awesome to see the off ball movement and connection by them!

    is case matheis really not doing too great? i dont follow college much but i know he was a beast in highschool and ranked #1 out of HS.

      JJ Hooles It's not so much that he isn't doing well, it's more that he doesn't dodge very often and is pretty much used exclusively as a finisher. Some people read that situation and conclude it's because he isn't good enough to dodge.
      My personal guess is that it's a coaching decision to use him that way because of the other offensive players on the field and match-ups. It's not that he can't dodge, it's that Jordan Wolf, Deemer Class, Myles Jones, etc. are better dodgers and the midfielders are much more likely to get short stick match-ups.

      Lacrosse Film Room Oh okay I see thanks! I was just a little confused at the comment of the sport caster.

      ***** I don't need to look it up. I watch the games. In nearly every one of their offensive sets, he's the right-handed counterpart to Josh Dionne. He picks up some of his assists from being the point guy on fast breaks, but in the settled 6v6 offense against man-to-man defenses, he rarely dodges.

      Lacrosse Film Room Now that wolf and others are gone hes dodging more. At l least that is what I saw in the Duke vs Airforce game. What I don't get is that if you watch his highschool highlights, he was really good from x. Like he scored 5 goals against Manhasset as a freshman. Yet he didn't seem really amazing in the game against Air Force.

    They're gonna miss him this year idk of guterding or matheis can fill his role hopefully they can

      My prediction would be Case Matheis at X, Chad Cohan at right wing, and either Justin Guterding or Kyle Keenan at left.

      +1 I think offense will be fine, but replacing all the experience on defense will be tough.

      Sean Cordero I will at some point, but in the short term, I feel like I have so many of them already that I'm going to focus on some other kinds of videos.

    Show the goalies some love? Maybe a niko amato video?

    • @lacrossefilmroom
      @lacrossefilmroom  10 років тому

      laxrulztheworld Goalie videos are really hard to do because the camera angles they show on TV so rarely are focused on the goalies. Plus, box scores don't list the times of all of their great saves like they do for goals and assists. Putting together a goalie video would be a big undertaking on my end.
      Also, I already put up up video of a couple of Niko Amato outlet passes to Jesse Bernhardt.
      Maryland's Niko Amato hits Jesse Bernhardt in stride for a fast break goal
      Maryland LSM Jesse Bernhardt scores after outlet pass from goalie Niko Amato

    You can't double him. It's impossible, he's too fast

    What's the deal with pulling the goal out?
    Doesn't seem to make sense against a guy who can just run around a double like that.

    • @lacrossefilmroom
      @lacrossefilmroom  8 років тому

      +HeyZeus096 Well, the alternative is for him to run around a single defender and thus let Duke run out the final seconds of the game to win. It's a last ditch attempt to get the ball back at the end of a game.

    • @HeyZeus096
      @HeyZeus096 8 років тому

      Oooh ok.
      That makes sense.
      I'm still a little unclear as to why the pull out the goalie for that. Would that be to prevent him from passing off the double?

    • @lacrossefilmroom
      @lacrossefilmroom  8 років тому

      HeyZeus096 That's exactly why you have pull the goalie to double. That way there are 7 defenders so the defense can cover the 5 off ball players and stop them from catching a pass while 2 of them double the ball.

      Thanks man!
      I've been getting back into lacrosse in college after only playing a couple years of club around 8th/9th grade, so it's nice to get pointers on strategies and whatnot.
