LONG Takeoff Roll in Cancun | Buzzsaw sound - United 737-900ER

- The takeoff roll is almost 50 seconds long! We are heavy with fuel for a nearly 5 hour flight. At 2:08 the slats are re-extended. The 737-900ER does not have good runway performance, especially when heavy. Make sure to watch in 4K. Please subscribe or leave a comment -- it encourages me to make more of these vids!

Good one Max, lucky you were in the cabin! Would not have wanted to be in the cockpit and watched that first set of piano keys disappear under the nose.
You always manage to get the best aerial shots. Thanks for the rush! 😃👍
Thanks 👍
This would have scared me to death. I always get the feeling we’re going to run out of runway on take off.
Beautiful takeoff, but exactly the reason I do not like the 737 900. takes forever to rotate. Underpowered. Give me back my 757 200 any day over this !
the 757 is great but I prefer a 727-200
United always uses de-rated thrust for their takeoffs in an effort to improve engine longevity. Nothing to see here but a normal United departure.
That makes sense, especially since they can then have a heftier payload... 🤔🤔
Beautiful views!
Agreed!
-900s are at the very limit of what that airframe can get airborn!
5000 RPM
What is your fav 737?
737-600. Light and overpowered. Flew many with SAS
I'll have to cross out the 737 MAX series as they possessed a DANGEROUS reputation
Slats retracted then re-extended. Interesting.
omg I'll say, sometimes I get nervous like is this thing ever going to get airborne or are we just on a jet powered sled.
This reduces drag (retracted) upon takeoff, and maximizes lift (extended) before takeoff.
hm yeah, at 2:08. never seen that
It isnt a terribly common procedure, but it does accelerate the takeoff on shorter runways.
Hey Max! Could you shoot me an email through my Instagram? I'd love to use a few of your shots in an upcoming video if you're ok with it! Full credit in the video description of course.
Hey Swayne, just sent you an email to your gmail. Cheers.
