The dino tree kale seeds I bought from you germinated 100%. The plants are doing very well. I wasn't sure how well they would do in Florida, but they did well through our summer. Thank you.
You have some of the best greens I have ever seen! Your purple tree kale seeds I got looks like I have one out the 5 rooted seeds that looks likes your:)
Can you provide a list of the various strains of greens here? Yes, we have entered survival mode from Covid-19. I’m lucky I have greens that survived the winter, I bought seedlings early and we had the first harvest with dinner last night. You’re all set.
It's funny this video popped up today. I had a thought last night to plant my front yard with veggies for passersby to take from if they want. These plants seem a good fit for that.
I do have the seeds from you, hope mine will be as large and beautiful as yours, Tronchuda is on my seed list to get. Yours gives me an idea of what to expect. Please share the new uses you come up with. I do have 1 tree kale from a nursery that went out of business recently They were sold as 3, but only one has grown well. It is in its 2nd year now..
the purple tree collard seed I bought from you last year are all looking great, about 12 two foot tall plants now. I would really like to purchase some ashitaba seeds, or sprouts from you, if I can. I did buy some from another source last year but none of them took.
Wish I could but no money - lost a job so looking for another but can’t swing any shopping! Missed last years too 🤕 Maybe next year I can get seeds and cuttings - these would grow great here and I love making chips it of them too!
Here in the Philippines i planted pechay and mustard.when it is already 1 inches our chickens started started to eat it..afternoon when i came back from work, all stems left.no more leaves left..
MAke Caldo Verde. It’s a portuguese kale or collards (your preference but I prefer kale) and potatoe soup. It’s delicious, cheap and easy! It’s literally a one pot meal that you can start and forget about it and it will be done and delicious!
Dan, I just started building Hugelkulture raised beds and am now looking to plant in some perennial plants here in Lodi CA. No nurseries locally sell this type of thing. Do you give away/sell cuttings/seeds? Or do you recommend a nursery in your neck of the woods. I don't mind the drive.
Hi Dan. Do you let the baby green sprouts grow up to be a bog plant? Do you ever separate/thin then out? I was wondering if they get too crowded down there!
I love your food forest! It's very inspiring. Question, what if any perennial greens are zone 4 hardy? I had a decent first year hugelkulture garden last year, but mostly annual veg. I started my strawberries and asparagus. I started quite a few fruit trees and bushes. I'm just hoping for a hardy green I don't have to fuss with. Thanks for any suggestions!
I'm curious, you're food forest is really established and I saw a comment before saying you're working with about 5,000-7,000 square feet. How much of your own food do you manage to grow in a year? I have about an acre and I'm working on establishing a food forest and wondering what I can expect. I'm in a similar climate, zone 9a in North Florida.
I can’t keep the aphids off my greens. By the time I get some, they’ve crawled all over and under the leaves and stems. I’m in the Bay Area also, what do you do to keep them off?
Hey love your channel... I have a native puerto rican perennial kale...how i can get some of your seed... We can exchange i send you some of the puerto rican kale cuttings and you send me some seeds...

Hi Dan. Do you let the baby green sprouts grow up to be a bog plant? Do you ever separate/thin then out? I was wondering if they get too crowded down there!

Its olive oil !!!!
Would these perennial greens grow in Zone 6b (Virginia)?
I can’t keep the aphids off my greens. By the time I get some, they’ve crawled all over and under the leaves and stems. I’m in the Bay Area also, what do you do to keep them off?

When the collards startvto flower do they change taste?
How do you keep the bugs from eating your greens?
How do you keep the bugs off during the summer? I had a couple of Portuguese kale and loved them. But the bugs came in.
What zones will the perennial kale trees work in? I'm in zone 6b.
How do I get my seed out of the pod?
