All the tempos are the same and the feel and the guitar rhythm part is never really changing much. It gets kind of monotonous. Is that what Go Go is all about?
It’s all about the beat! The go go beat doesn’t change. You like go go or you don’t I guess.
I know it’s go go but the beat doesn’t change it’s the same. So everything they play sounds all the same. I wouldn’t want to hear the same beat the same groove over and over just different words.

I used to work at Saint Augustine’s University and each year I would look forward to the CIAA Basketball Tournament. One year the University hired Chuck Brown to play at our party held at the Hilton. Their first song lasted 45 minutes and the ballroom floor was moving up and down very noticeably. The hotel personnel assured everyone that the floor was built to withstand such events. For those of you who think Go Go is monotonous and boring, etc., think reggae, Latin music, hip-hop, and other music that is based on a repetitive rhythm. If you are intuitively comparing it to your favorite music, you have to give that up. Think the reggae beat, calypso, salsa, etc. and DANCE to it. Also find some Chuck Brown music and dance all night with your favorite intoxicants. Above all else, Go Go is party music!
