Loved it! Very well done video with your content and post production editing. Definitely worth subscribing to and looking forward to seeing your other videos.
Great video. As a 3.5-4.0 player I always try using topspin to make a 3rd shot drop. Now I learn the tips from you and will practice that. Thank you so much.
You are very welcome! I have that tendency too coming from Tennis! The topspin 3rd is still great it’s just a bit riskier at times so just use it when you feel very comfortable in the situation 😄
This is officially my favorite 3rd shot drop video! Greeaaaat advice! I love the cornhole toss tip! Thank you! I'll be thinking about that the next time I practice and play! And this is the 2nd video which advised not to rush towards the kitchen line. I'll stop doing that as well!
It's great that the motion you use in this video is exactly the same motion you used in your serving video. I love that one motion is used twice in the game--one less new thing to learn. Only difference is the amount of oomph on the ball. You were born to teach this game!
You got it exactly Michael that’s a perfect way to think about it! 🤘 One motion for multiple shots = less things to learn and more bang for your buck with each technique! Thanks a bunch for the compliment! More videos to come! 👍
ive been under the impression to keep lower body quiet on 3rd shots and dinks, less moving parts less to mess up? sometimes coming up with legs and shoulders on the 3rd shot gives too much power?
Great video the only exception I will take with your suggestions are I would include that deep serves are the best way to get easier third shots. The farther they are away from you when they return the ball there will be less Pace as it comes back and rarely does it go Baseline to Baseline. The second issue is I would always direct my third shot at the return of serve rather than play the angle. Is far better to take your chances with the person in motion than a person that is stationary and closer to you. Other than those two observations I would say this is a solid piece of information for successful execution of the third shot drop.
Great instruction - awesome tips! I did find the (admittedly very cool) guitar paddle a little distracting from your lesson - maybe pick a "quieter" paddle for your videos. Nice job working in the local ambient noise (ducks, geese) into the monolog - very smooth! Keep up the good work :)
Thank you Mark! Great tips and I will prioritize using some of our quieter looking models for more videos coming up! Haha and thank you yes I couldn’t have asked the geese to time it better with me! 🤣 how nice of them 😂
Good video. I’ve taken a few lessons from pros and one said to not bend your legs and move up and other one said to move your legs! So I do what feels right for me, which is moving my legs like your showing.
I appreciate all the "tennis players don't do this", as a tennis player who loves topspin and tries to use my tennis stroke in pickleball. I felt like you were talking directly to me!
That’s great to hear Shawn! Thank you! Stay tuned for a how to play pickleball for tennis players video coming out soon as well with more nuggets like this! Having come from tennis myself one of the hardest things to do on the PB court has been to use our strengths coming from tennis but also know when to keep tennis on tennis court and play Pickelball! Haha 🤣
this is a simple but effective message for all PB players. I come from tennis as a teaching pro and totally understand the adjustments that I need to make. Great video!!!
Baby steps. It seems a third shot drop return of a 'banged' ball asks to pop. A hard return and begs this intermediate player to bang right back. Thanks for the feed for thought.
Haha working on it! Glad you want them! Right now all the newer stuff is on instagram under pickleball_health as well! Working on getting back into UA-cam also. Would you prefer longer videos like this one or more UA-cam short 1.5 minute long style? (It changes if I have to film it landscape or portrait that’s why it’s harder to pick)
Haha sorry it means to hit it hard in a very aggressive way! 🤣 good to do when you are under control. Not good when the other team is able to do it while under control 👍
why dont I ever see tips on a 2nd shot drop shot ? being a newbie.. I think about things maybe that are silly, but I would think if the serve isnt overly difficult, why not use the same technique on the return ? I am sure there is a logical reason.. but logic isnt my strong suit.
I like that you are thinking about new things! 😄We don’t hit a second shot drop (return) short because we don’t want our opponents at the kitchen line as it makes our job getting there ourselves much harder with them already up there. It’s advantageous to hit the return as deep as possible to force them into hitting a 3rd shot drop while you and your partner lean over the line and try to take their 3rd shot out the air and keep them in the back of the court 👍😄
Best tutorial ever on third shot drop.
Thanks a bunch John glad this video was helpful! 👍
You’re a great UA-cam bro. Very concise, to the point, and professional! Great tips…hope to get the 4.0 level soon
Thank you Brandon I appreciate the support! You got this! 4.0 is coming soon for you! 🤘
Really love your videos and your simple explanations! Keep it up 👌

Amazing quality! who edited this for you? Thank you for your tips!
Thank you Victor, I appreciate that! I did actually. Learned how on UA-cam to put it back on UA-cam! Haha 😂
@@Pickleball_Health Fucking love hearing that. Super entrepreneurial. Good for you my man, keep grinding
Excellent discussion on 3rd shot drop mechanics and strategy. Thank you.

Thanks a ton Gemini! 😄 haha not rushing up to the kitchen got me for a while too! I was just so excited to get up there and get rockin!’ 🤣
@@Pickleball_Health You're welcome and yes indeed! Me too lol 😅

Great video. I constantly take a couple steps in after serving. I need note cards when I play 😅
Haha note cards while playing would be hilarious I love it Teri! 😂
Awesome video, great tips. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Thanks a bunch!! More videos coming real soon as well! Appreciate your support! 💪
Fantastic way to think about this!
Thank you, you rock! 🤘

Love it! Thanks for the insightful additions Lon I agree with what you are saying as well! Rock on! 🤘
Love the Les Paul paddle. Do you tune it before every match? 😁
Mainly just retuning the G string from bending the ball so much on the court with it 🤣🤘
@@Pickleball_Health LOL. Rock on!

Yes I agree the guitar paddle caught my attention. 😅
You must get distracted easily. Lol
Excellent.
Many thanks! 🙏
Great tips. Patience!
Thank you Wells! Glad you loved it! 😄
Thanks Dustin. Are you at Rusch Park?
I coach players that hope to up their game some.
I use a lot of what I learn here on UA-cam to share.
That’s great to hear Jim! 🤘
So many good nuggets! Love the video demonstrating the bad tendencies as well as the good ones.
Thank you Dylan I’m glad you got some good nuggets out of it! Plenty more coming! 👍

Your corn hole analogy is absolutely perfect.
Haha thank you Thomas! 😂👍
Great stuff!
Thank you Tom, much appreciated!
Hey bud, which paddle is this?
It’s the RooSportz Reaction Series found here…

Aww you’re so sweet thank you Barbara! Many more on the way! 😊😄
Hi there.. plz let me know ow where I cN order pickleball racket .. like a factory because we need 100 pcs
Hi Suranga, email me at roosportz@gmail.com and we can chat about this 👍
cool paddle cover. you play.
Thank you! Sure do! I looove playing classic rock! 🤘 you?
Love the cornhole analogy. There is hope for my forehand 3rd shot drop! But not sure I’m ready to give up on my ping pong topspin drive!! 😂
Haha there sure is! Use both! Keep ‘em guessing! Having both makes each independently more deadly too because they don’t know what to expect 🤘
@@Pickleball_Health - Sounds like a good plan!! Glad to find your channel. Great video!!
Good vid
Thank you William! 🤘
Did you print the guitar on sticker paper yourself, or buy the paddle like that? I'm a guitarist too ;-)
Hi Mark! Love that you are guitarist too! They come professionally manufactured that way and can be purchased here at roosportz.com. Rock on Mark! 🤘

True…. But banging their tough return is gonna get crushed at a high enough level so it definitely depends on your opponents!
No new videos? 😢

Haha sorry it means to hit it hard in a very aggressive way! 🤣 good to do when you are under control. Not good when the other team is able to do it while under control 👍
@@Pickleball_Health yes. Ok good. 😄
Wail not whale
Thanks to the ducks for reinforcing the message.
